      Please what is the shelf life of this product? Love the pink the hibiscus brings

    • @YayaDIYCreations
      @YayaDIYCreations  5 лет назад +6

      funmilayo aina Liquid germall plus is a pretty effective preservative, but I would still give this 6 months due to the high water and herbal content. I honestly feel that it could last 9 months, but this small batch will be used up way before then lol. I will leave a little in the container and test it in a few months. I hope this helps.

      Yaya hello there, I like this creation. I absolutely love honey my hair loves it and agave . I've made something very very similar to this. I love hibiscus from head to toe .I use it in so many ways & Internally also of course. I'm working on something with face mask with honey , hibiscus, herbs? and EO'S. 💕🤗🤗

      Maybe if you changed the cetearyl alcohol for more btms? I find that cetearyl alcohol thickens so much it becomes draggy.
      Ps: I don't think vanilla essential oils exists since vanilla is water soluble. Maybe it was benzoin? Or vanilla beans steeped in a carrier oil?

      Sola Olaniyi Thank you! I am still learning and testing, but I appreciate the appreciation 😊😊💜💜
      You get the best hydration from water and this product has plenty of it. It also has ingredients that help to pull in and lock in the hydration. Like Honeyquat PF, which has humectant properties that draw in moisture. And fatty alcohols like Cetyl alcohol, an emollients that traps in moisture. There are plenty others as well. I have more info in the description box. I hope this helps 😊💜

      Thank you! I have been testing natural colorants for years and it's hard to find one that will remain stable in water-based products and/or that will become more vibrant. Truthfully, synthetic colorants work best for this situation and to get a more vibrant color. Tara Lee has some great videos on using colorants in shampoos, lotions, and more.

    Lush ❤️ I just went back to the Shea Moisture Manuka masque because my hair has just been missing it. I added hibiscus and fenugreek powder to it and absolutely LOVED how my hair felt afterwards! I’ll bet yours is even better with that marshmallow root..
    Edit: And I was just considering trying an oat milk and ACV overnight prepoo. Have you ever made anything similar? Would that be too contradictory? 🙃

    • @YayaDIYCreations
      @YayaDIYCreations  5 лет назад +1

      I love the Manuka masque from them. Great product. Thank you for your kind words. 😊💜
      I do not pre poo like I use to. Now-a-days, I just jump in the shower lol. I love ACV, mainly as a rinse to close the cuticles after washing and conditioning. However, regulating the pH of your scalp and clarifying the scalp are very important for a healthy scalp. So, I guess I can see how a ACV prepoo would be beneficial for the scalp and the removal of buildup before shampooing. The oat milk will provide the moisturizing properties and soften the hair to make detangling and the removal of shed hairs easier.
      All in all, it sounds like it could be a great idea. Just make sure the ACV is diluted well. If you test it out, let me know how it goes 😊💜

    • @denyshadials5702
      @denyshadials5702 5 лет назад

      Yaya
      Oh yes I always dilute it and my hair shrinks too much for me to just jump in the shower, otherwise I would. Truth be told though, I don’t use the ACV to ph balance or close my cuticles 🤗 it’s just the best detangle I’ve tried thus far. Better than water, oil, conditioner, and aloe Vera. I’ve been using it as a prepoo for a couple months and I’m just wondering what a milk or tea could do to it.
      I just love your content, you’re a very unique RUclipsr!💕

    • @YayaDIYCreations
      @YayaDIYCreations  5 лет назад +1

      Denysha Taylor Thank you again for the kind words 😊💜
      I think that’s the beauty of natural products, we can tweak and use them the way that works best for us individuals. I believe adding a tea or milk or both sounds like a great idea. I am definitely curious about it now lol. My hair detangles easily and I do not get much shrinkage, so I save time by just jumping in.
      My hair was not always like this though. It use to be super thick, dense, with a lot of shrinkage. After I had my son, it changed drastically 😩😂 and I had to completely adjust my regimen.

    What are your thoughts on adding flax seed since it provides a great amount of gel or even aloe vera too

    • @____Ann____
      @____Ann____ 5 лет назад +4

      Aloë vera juice, made with distilled water and aloe powder is considered OK to a maximum of 30%. You can't use the gel you find in shops. Flax seeds are really risky since they spoil fast. The liquid germall plus isn't made to preserve 'foods'. That been said, I would try it in a smaller batch, one that can be used within a week and keep it in the fridge. I love flax seeds, it makes my hair really soft.

    @yaya Thank you for these fun creative videos! I am starting to get into making my own shelf stable hair products and your DIY's are so helpful and right on time. Have you tried Betaine aka beet sugar extract? I just purchased some and will be giving it try. It's said to be a great humectant substitute for glycerin and honey, along with a TON of other beneficial properties for our strands. Since I don't have the Honeyquat, I'll give the betaine a try instead. Can't to see how you reformulate your next round of dc.

      FroNegrita Thank you for watching! I am glad you find it helpful. I learn so much from you all as well 😊💜 I have not heard of Betaine, I will look into. Thank you for informing me and good luck with your products🙂🙂

    Great video! Very helpful Yaya!
    I have a question, how come you don't include where you get your extracts from in the description box as you do for the other items?

      Absolutely. You really do not have to add them at all. You can use your emulsifier, butter, and/or wax to make up your oil phase 😊

      BTW, these aren't drying alcohols but fatty ones. They are great for skin and hair.
