Tbh when Al Pacino came on, I first felt that I was watching a different movie about Hoffa starring Al Pacino, he stole the show completely. That's how good Al Pacino was.

I saw Pacino in the meat packing district in NYC in the late 90´s on set filming a scene for a movie called Chinese Coffee.It was 4 in the morning and I was there with a handful of spectators.After the filming wrapped up and Al had gone to his trailer to change clothes, he came up to everyone watching ,shaked hands with and thanked us all individually for being respectful and quiet for the filming.He really came across as a great and very warm person.And man what an actor.
Such a fine actor. I remember when I first saw him in "The Godfather" in 1972, people left the movie saying "Who IS that guy?" I've never seen a single performance make such an impression. He is an American Treasure.
And to think that the studio didn't want him. That's a high mark when people say who is this guy after leaving the movie theater. It's a testament to his acting prowess.

Al Pacino used to never do interviews. Nowadays, he does, and he is utterly charming and articulate and insightful. I can listen to him at great length. He did a documentary back in 2007 called, "Babbleonia", where it was just him, at the famed old Actors Studio building in NYC, just talking for two hours about his life and career. It was fascinating.
Those piercing dark eyes of his. Love how he became such an eccentric, lovely old man as he got older. One of the greats and I think a lot of his talent comes from the fact that he started off in theater. Lucky to still have him with us and lucky that he, Deniro, Pesci and Scorsese gave us this gift of a film

I remember when I first saw The Godfather in 1972, I knew he'd be my favorite actor. I actually went to the show 7 times to see Al Pacino. Once I watched it twice in a row. The Godfather and Al Pacino would be my all time favorite.

Serpico is great. First pulled the book off a shelf in a dusty down-town library & the film is great and captures the book, wonderfully.
