I went to my local gun store with my dad, who was there picking up ammo. They recently set up a rack of semi automatic rifles, and had two aks and an svd. Because of your videos, I was able to figure out that the AK47 they had was Chinese, due to the hooded front sight and vented glass port, and that they had a krink there too.
The coof got my wife and I into prepping, I already had a generator in case of a hurricane then after I moved into my new house a tornado knocked out the power and I had to spend a couple nights trying to sleep in a louisiana spring with no AC so I bought a window unit then came hurricane laura I was in pretty good shape other than needing more fuel and a way to cook we had to go 2 weeks without power and a month without internet (it took threats from the state legislature to get the only cable company in the state to restore their service and give customers credit for the month they were without service) ever since then I always keep a weeks worth of gas for my generator on hand. It was a good learnig experience showed us where our gaps were we are planning on planting alot more food this year.
I was born and raised in California. One of my first memories was being tossed out of bed in the Sylmar quake down south, then almost two decades later I went through Loma Prieta. In between there were countless smaller ones I experienced. Having basic survival skills and supplies has been pretty much in my DNA since day one, and I was always kind of baffled that everyone doesn't "prep". Especially people who live in those places where devastating natural disasters happen *every year*, not just a handful of times over the course of a lifetime. But either natural or man-made, shit happens... and it pays to prepare.
People think I'm odd because I have a literal ton of wheat, beans and rice sealed with oxygen absorbers in 5 gallon buckets in my basement. If things go bad I can eat it, if things go really bad, I can plant it.
The reason we usually don't keep food stores at home in hurricane country is because when the bad ones come we get in our vehicles and leave. If one is coming we don't need to leave for we go to the store for food, and gasoline. No need to store it, hurricanes give you enough time to prepare. ;)
I don’t get how people think being able to sustain your own life is weird, like some people take to an extreme but like if not dying is cringe then I’ll take being cringe ig
A VEEEERY simple (although space intensive) way to shield from an emp is to Have a room (lets say where you keep your guns) in which you basically staple metal meshing to the wall covering the whole thing. You can easily just do some solder welds between a couple points on each panel to ensure electrical connection. Do so all around the room, in the door, etc. And then place some wood panels on top of the mesh. Cover the door too. Ideally right up to where it opens. The door can be left with the exposed wire or put some paneling on top. Now you got an emp proof room. Keep radios, NVGs, and other equipment inside it. (oh, make sure the mesh is grounded. If you make sure each panel has at least one solder joint to another, you can just grab a light switch and solder the ground lead to the mesh)
@@krotchlickmeugh627 so??? all the equipment I mentioned is battery powered and with a few dozen rechargable batteries and a couple solar powered solar banks you'll be alright. furthermore you could have a generator or smth inside there

@@colkillervin3560 how about you do some research, instead of making stupid comments. I thought I was informed, and was against Russia, now I'm not so much.
Brandon asked what about an EMP? Short, very inexpensive answer: Store any sensitive digital information or equipment backups in an old microwave oven. The Faraday cage that prevents microwave radiation from escaping the cooking area will also prevent anything inside from being affected by an EMP or being remotely scanned, a functional microwave also provides a quick failsafe option in case of impending theft or seizure of any sensitive information stored inside by simply turning the microwave on.
@@Masterofcreat Nope. Lead (and high density materials in general) are for ionizing radiation. To shield electromagnetic radiation, you want a high conductivity metal like copper, though aluminum would also work as well. To see how this works, look into faraday cages (makes it easy to understand how low-frequency signals are blocked) and the skin effect (which will do the real work at higher frequencies that are more likely to couple with the relatively short wires in most electronic devices).
Fact is, an EMP's destructive nature is based upon its ability to generate an electrical charge. Which it needs a LOT of wire to do. The grid, and anything plug in to the grid at the time would likely suffer damage. But other electronics most likely would not be effected because the wiring inside of them is just not sufficient to allow the generation of a significant enough charge. In other words, modern cars would not stop working, etc. That being said, apparently even UPS energy conditioning equipment may not stop an EMP induced electrical surge. The breakers just do not trip fast enough.
I work on the Appalachian Trail, in Tennessee, one thing I can say about long distance, thru hikers, is their ability to be self-sufficient for extended periods. One of their better devices is the Sawyer Squeeze water filter, small, light, and easy to use with a Smart Water bottle. I suggest picking up a few, clean water is hard to find right now, it will only get worse.

"Being prepared before stuff happens is important, having more weapons and ammo than a 3 world militia is a good start." Me living in Europe: Best I can do is a throwing axe.
Roofers in Europe still use roofing-hatchets, right? Practice with those, it's a 5€ tomahawk with an adjustable weight for custom balance that you can buy at most hardware and builder's stores. Then get yourself one of those pry-bars fireman carry. The name isn't coming to mind (Milligan? Mulligan?), but it opens pretty much anything. Doors, walls, floors, cars, people . . . . It's a substantial tool, so use it as a weight-bar for lifting, then hold it doing aerobics.
Yeah, some of that surplus stuff has AFT agents licking their chops. “Wow! Where’d you get all these rare foreign parts kits from?” “What are you, a cop? Mind your business.”
In regards to prepping: Home canning doesn't require a huge initial investment (compared to guns) and if you play your cards right you'll be eating good for a fraction of the cost mass-market prepared foods. I'm still eating soups and borscht (my specialty) that I made pre-covid because I'm cycling through my stock. Also a great way to preserve game meat without filling a freezer.

People always believe that those who are prepared are mad, until shit hits the fan. Then they become kings. I for one would love to see a B-channel video of you flexing your preparedness.
Living in Japan I can tell you by experience that prepping is indispensable… having a good bug out bag is a must. Having some good stash around your place is also a good idea (long shelf life water, water filter, water purification tablet) with other useful stuff like fire starter, clothes change in waterproof compartment, radio (the one with a crank to power it) or better a multi frequency transceiver with usb power supply, a usb power bank and a solar panel to charge it….
I got into prepping cause it was a great way to justify the crap ton of arsenal and projectiles I buy. Then it turned into a no duh. Everyone freaking out the past few years, it's the ultimate way to stay frosty. Welcome to the party, Yes videos on it please
The problem I have with 99% of prepper advice is that it's expensive. There are cheap, efficient ways to be prepared, but the people doing the how-tos all seem to just throw money at it instead. Prepper: "I bought this crate of MREs for _only_ $5000! Now I'll never touch them and eventually they'll expire!" Me: "I bought a 50-lb sack of rice from Costco for $20 and keep my pantry stocked with canned goods at all times, replacing them as I use them and eating the oldest ones first so it costs me basically nothing." Everyone: "I like the MRE idea!" Prepper: "I got this N/B/C-rated water filter for $8000. It'll purify enough water for 20 people every day! If there's that much water around, anyway. It even has a hand-crank to run it if there's no power!" Me: "I refilled a bunch of soda bottles with water and stuck them in my outside freezer so it stays cold longer if the power goes out and provides a source of clean water when they melt." Everyone: "Ooh, a crank!" And so on.
Prepping, a cool term for being prepared. A boy scout motto AND just the world my grandparents grew up in. Back up power, water reserves, stable food storage DO IT!
Coming from someone in a household where prepping is a prevalent thing, I can't deny that it is a good idea to have a solid storage of self-stable food in case the day comes where it is needed. It is very time consuming and I hope the day doesn't come that it pays off, but if it does, I will be glad that we have it.

"Dig through"? They're not true prepper supplies unless you have to 'dig them up'. The really good preppers bury their stuff deep and backfill with old nails, tin cans and other metallic items from 50-80 years ago so a person with a metal detector would give up and move along before they find your stash.
Brandon doing prepping? Great idea! Good things to start with: Freeze dried food. Water filtration and storage. How to properly cook and prepare food. Medicine. Backup generator, batteries, solar panel. Mr. Buddy propane heaters. CERT and getting to know local law enforcement. Backpack. Tent. Tools, axe, swiss knife, etc. Fire starting stuff. (Matches, vaseline cotton balls, etc.) Clothing fit for the weather. Blankets/thermal blankets. Emergency signaling and flares. Radio communications. First aid/trauma kit and first aid training. Fire extinguishers (mostly for car accidents) Guns n' ammo (but you already got that covered). Outdoorsmanship knowledge (knowledge of local terrain, climate, poisonous/dangerous plants/animals). And remember 'Nobody is an island all by themselves'.
I'd definitely be interested in prepping videos, especially gear testing and reviews. I've spent most of my life in tornado alley, prepping is pretty much a fact of life here.

Last I heard, the "cope cage" wasn't intended to protect against Javelins, but to protect it from the smaller ordinance that can attack from the top like suicide drones, people in tall buildings with RPGs or thrown AT mines, mortars, and those Turkish drones with their small guided bombs. From what I hear it has helped with those, but against the tandem charge of the javelin, it doesn't do shit. Some Russian Tankers even put camo nets, bushes, leaves, etc. on top of the cage to help hide the thermal signature of the turret, and from what I hear, could help cause the Javelin to hit the engine bay rather than the turret, disabling the tank, but saving the crew. Haven't heard if that worked or not though. Other tanks have actually use the cage as a storage platform, putting gear and shit on top of it, saving room inside the tank.
@@ASS_ault never said I was an expert, stated that all of this was what I heard. I'm not sure what part is bullshit, you should probably specify if your going to call my comment out m8. That cage does help against chemical munitions either a tandem charge like the standard AT rounds from an RPG 7, and in urban combat, anyone can aim an RPG down and hit the turret. Itnalso helps against small bombs and mortars so again, can you tell me what I said was bullshit? Maybe provide a counter argument too while your at it.
@@RoFKillaBacon I have seen some of his videos, but this is based on things I have heard from multiple sources including a few youtubers like Laser Pig and Spookston, and from how slat armor has worked in the past, great against smaller ordnance but useless against anything big enough and/or has a tandem charge.
Loved that prepping dialog! I try so hard to get people to understand that aspect. Prepping isn't about navigating a civil war, surviving an economic collapse or other "doomsday" scenarios. You can prep for a local event like flooding, tornadoes, or like you mentioned a cold snap/ice storm in an area that typically doesn't have those events. Hell even just a household emergency like a sudden layoff from work or something. The rest of the world might be perfectly fine, but if your own life goes sideways... it's great to know you can take care of yourself and your loved ones.
Speaking of getting into prepping, buy a good dehydrator. Any unused onions bought from the store, half a cucumber from that salad you made etc. dehydrate it and throw in a jar. Great way to keep from wasting food too.
"Nobody thinks about preparing for shit until..." Incorrect sir. A lot of people do. They either stay quiet about it or are know as crazy doomsday peppers / conspiracy theorists
Exactly. It's like winning the lottery: TELL NO ONE, or everybody and their dog is going to need something when they're hurting, not just your folks, friends, and kin.
I have learned to very much appreciate those people with that outlook. They make sure my preps stay affordable. Let the bandwagon's memo be "anyone not on here is crazy" that's what defines my success. Others being oblivious.
I'd love if he did prepping related content. Some youtubers have strictly prepper related content and it's hard to tell which ones aren't nuts, but at least I know what I get with the AK Lord
Being nuts is advantage on the battlefield who would you rather face on the battle field, average Joe with his basic firearm? Hi Brandon, I recently watched your video review about the AK-12, as I understand it, you expected something more (better) from him, but as for me it's just a zatuning AK-74, with a cutoff of 2 cartridges. But it would be interesting for you to purchase and review a machine gun that was a competitor in the selection process, for admission to the troops. This is the AEK-971 (A-545) of the Kovrov Degtyarev Plant, an automaton that has passed all tests, while the AK12 has failed some of them, the A545 has balanced automation, lower recoil, and better accuracy compared to the AK-12, an improved fire translator. And he was supposed to become the main machine gun of the Russian army, BUT! The name of Kalashnikov has more weight than Degtyarev, money (AEK comes out more expensive), and just bureaucracy. What in general I wanted to say, is there any desire to do a review on the A-545??? =) PS through Google translator wrote)

It was a good learnig experience showed us where our gaps were we are planning on planting alot more food this year.
“Oh cool, it’s the Russians. Red dawn time”
That line is the reason I’m so glad I watched to the very end!!!
Never realized that Brandon is basically the Linus of the gun community with how often he drops shit.
Lol where do you think the electricity comes from? Yep. Same place your neighbors electricity comes from. Lmfao
@@krotchlickmeugh627 so??? all the equipment I mentioned is battery powered and with a few dozen rechargable batteries and a couple solar powered solar banks you'll be alright.

Ammo can lined with foil
Get a box and line it with leadfoil? Maybe.
I've heard metal filing cabinets will offer a bit of protection, but I don't know if it's true.
I work on the Appalachian Trail, in Tennessee, one thing I can say about long distance, thru hikers, is their ability to be self-sufficient for extended periods.
Now I'll never touch them and eventually they'll expire!"
Me: "I bought a 50-lb sack of rice from Costco for $20 and keep my pantry stocked with canned goods at all times, replacing them as I use them and eating the oldest ones first so it costs me basically nothing."
Everyone: "I like the MRE idea!"
Prepper: "I got this N/B/C-rated water filter for $8000. It'll purify enough water for 20 people every day! If there's that much water around, anyway. It even has a hand-crank to run it if there's no power!"
Me: "I refilled a bunch of soda bottles with water and stuck them in my outside freezer so it stays cold longer if the power goes out and provides a source of clean water when they melt."
Everyone: "Ooh, a crank!"
And so on.
Learn how to can (glass jar) vegetables and meat
Prepping, a cool term for being prepared. A boy scout motto AND just the world my grandparents grew up in. Back up power, water reserves, stable food storage
DO IT!
Coming from someone in a household where prepping is a prevalent thing, I can't deny that it is a good idea to have a solid storage of self-stable food in case the day comes where it is needed. It is very time consuming and I hope the day doesn't come that it pays off, but if it does, I will be glad that we have it.

Jav always aims for center mass of an object and I’m fairly certain that won’t change it
You have too much time on your hands.

Exactly. If everyone knows, then everyone that hasn't will show up at your door
Damn where'd you get them doomsday peppers?
Real preppers use up and rotate their food but how many do it with their ammo?
