@@EarnestGamerI mean I’d love something more in the vein of Kirby or Starfox and whatnot. But I don’t think those titles make the same kind of impact Mario or Prime 4 would make. Just a theory though.
Metroid Prime 4 will absolutely be a cross-gen title with a launch on Switch 2 supporting 4K/60 and possibly some other visual upgrades. I would be shocked if it was not. So you will get your wish in that regard I feel. You will get an awesome version of Metroid Prime 4 on day one of Switch 2. I see 3D Mario being at least a launch year game like Odyssey. Curious if it will be at launch or months out. I also believe in that Ocarina of Time remake but that could potentially be a 2026 title. Hard to say. I could see something Mario Kart releasing as well within the first year.
3d Mario could actually boost Prime 4's sales if they both release simultaneously on Switch 2 IMO. My reasoning is that 3d Mario will bring a lot of attention to the Switch 2, while Prime 4 will sit there being the only other major AAA exclusive on the system. If people get a Switch 2 for 3d Mario, they might want more than one game on their new system and get Prime 4 since it's a big exclusive. If the Switch 2 draws extra attention from Mario but some people can't afford the full thing, they might first get the Switch version of Prime 4 since it's on both systems and they want to enjoy Switch 2 stuff. The Switch 2's library will be small enough for long enough so that early adopters who started with Mario might want to get Prime 4 after a bit since that's one of their best options for other Switch 2 games. Keep in mind, 1-2 Switch sold 3 million copies, wasn't even considered to be that good, and it released the same day as Breath of the Wild. Prime 4 wouldn't quite appeal to the casual crowd like 1-2 Switch would, but the day-one buyers aren't casuals anyway.
The best thing for Nintendo to do for Metroid is to make it a crossgen switch 2 launch title. The best thing for them to do for the switch 2 is to make Mario a launch title. Metroid needs the help, the switch 2 doesn't. I think they should launch with Metroid and if there's a Mario or Zelda game, it should be a smaller side/spinoff title. Then make a switch 2 exclusive mario game released at like month 4 of switch 2
I think the safer launch is Mario. However, they have a big opportunity to sort of change how people view them if they do a marketing blitz with Metroid. People who don't know will be surprised with the fact that Nintendo is showcasing the new console with a first person "shooter"
@@jordanwhitney5721 Yeah but it's not what the game is centered around. "shooting" is just a piece of it. Would be like saying any game you can jump around, makes it a platformer, no it does not. Prime's are designed to be a first person ACTION/ADVENTURE game.
The launch title should cater to the most dedicated fans, which makes Metroid seem more likely. They'll need broader appeal games in the launch window, but I think Nintendo would be smart to allow more time for people to pick up the new console before releasing something like a new Mario and a new multiplayer. That gets the hardcore fans tone to get their system and gush about it to others.
What I really would like to know is the third party support, this time around I think it’s safe to say third party will be there with big guns from day one. I expect Capcom to release the same games they released in iOS, maybe in a collection like they did with revelations on switch 1. But RE2, 3, 4 remakes and 7 & 8 will for sure be there. I also expect SF6 and Tekken 8. Maybe even Alan Wake 2. I would love to know so I plan accordingly what to play on console lol.

So it's a guess + rumor AND this is NOT Day one BUT Launch windows. - unveiled before March 2025 (confirm) - Expect launch 3-6 month after unveiled (guess because Wii U 5 month, Switch 4 month) - Metroid Prime 4 and Splatoon 4 is in Launch windows. (guess) Might talk about next Zelda. (rumor) - Release one big stuff at a time. don't crash Metroid Prime 4 to anything (my wish)
Bet you $100 Prime 4 is Switch 1 exclusive. Though with backwards compatability all Switch games including Prime 4 will already be playable on the Switch 2 anyway.
I don't think we're gonna get an Odyssey 2 In fact the way people talk about Odyssey 2 actually reminds me about back in the day people wanted a Galaxy 3 but it never happened.
Nintendo doesn't do sequels to 3D Mario games. The only reason Galaxy 2 was a thing was cause Nintendo had left over ideas from Galaxy 1 and the Wii was not capable of DLC and patches and such, So they had to release the content as a new game. We aren't getting an Odyssey 2. Which is good, cause Odyssey was horrid.
@ItApproaches Understandable, but an Odyssey sequel could fix the bad parts of Odyssey while keeping the good parts. Maybe a weighting system for moons so that the ones just lying under rocks are worth substantially less than the ones you do difficult challenges for.
i understand how people think 3d mario should be the launch title, but mario is more of a holiday/end of the year type game(also based on their patterns). And plus Nintendo would want it to be exclusive to switch 2, so launching it first before MP4 doesnt make much sense to me because MP4 is most likely cross gen. When people finally have switch 2, it'll be the main focus. They probably wont switch(pun intended😂) back to their switch 1 so much.
I think the best plan is Mario 3d and Metroid at launch or within 6 months. Then Mario Kart could be the big holiday title to make sure tons of people have a chance to get the new switch first. You want Mario Kart install base to be huge. But I could also see Mario Kart releasing day 1. Just seems like a really good November / holiday title year 1. I also think there’s no way they make the next Mario a cross gen title. Nintendo is all about getting you to buy the console. Yes they did that with BOTW because they thought they had to. Plus I see them pushing graphics in next Mario to give a wow factor. BOTW chose an art style probably to run on crappy hardware. They have to do something impressive to do a major leap from Odyssey.
Metroid isn't big enough to carry the launch by itself, but it's plenty big enough to be an attractive part of a bigger launch line-up. Realistically, I think Mario Kart 9 is what I expect, though.
How carry over sales? Besides for having the right games, you need a brand new and fresh concept for a console - for a controller design - that you have never seen before to offer brand new gaming experiences. Realistically what you could see if there is a March 2025 console release is: Mario Kart - Day 1 3D Mario - Holiday Fire Emblem Xenoblade Chronicles ARMS 2 New IP March 2026 seems like it might be a more likely console release date at this point.
14:12 is exactly why I think the next 3D Mario is in the launch window, prob holiday 2025. I think they will make that game a Switch 2 exclusive and they'll release it after the launch to drive holiday sales and push the stragglers over to new hardware. I want Prime 4 to be a cross gen launch title SO BAD. This could really be a big moment.
Switch 2 would most likely be released in the spring or summer, between May to July to maximize sales over the period before the big holidays rush in fall and winter. I believe not just Metroid Prime 4 would be the cross-gen launch title, but Nintendo would also release another game marketed towards family... Wii Sports 3?! Switch Sports 2?! Switch 2 Sports?! Nintendo missed this huge opportunity the last time around when it was a huge success during Wii's launch. They stood do the same this time around and save 3D Mario for Holidays and Mario Kart X for 2026.
I also think this depends on how many s2 are available if it's 10 mil or less MP4 is a safe bet in March an Mario whatever for the holiday especially if Mario is only a s2 game
Mario Kart is the juggernaut, more so than Mario himself. That’s my vote. Now Animal Crossing was also a killer app but we don’t know if that’s because of its lockdown launch timing. 🤔
It's definitely because of the lockdown launch timing, but it'd still probably be pretty big even without lockdown (probably like 1/3rd of the sales, which considering how big New Horizons was WITH lockdown, would still be crazy successful. Like 15 million units.)
When is the last time a (new) Mario game has been the launch title for a Nintendo console? It was Nintendo 64. Or Nintendo DS... which still was Super Mario 64. And technically that console launched with Metroid Prime Hunters, with the First Hunt demo. :P
I was thinking they release a Tears or the Kingdom Switch 2 version or have it showcase the backwards compatibility with higher resolution and framreate.
It’s a good question. But I think it’s smart to have a big launch game and then a big game to release a few months after launch. So they should stagger them imo.
3d mario or mario kart is most likely but aI can see them doubling up Metroid prime 4 with that Pokemon game in March 2025 with the switch 2 launch both will be cross gen And then mario kart can be a summer game and 3d Mario in October both will be switch 2 only, with other first and third party games as support
Open World 3D Mario... I feel Nintendo is going to go for a sense of massive scope w/ the next 3D Mario just like what BOTW did for Zelda. Basically, think Bowser's Fury X the poster art for the Super Mario Bros Movie and envision a new game... going open world or semi open world would also decrease or downright omit loading times and make the game a more seamless experience which I feel is one of EAD's objectives because all of the past 3D Mario games are segmented. Even Odyssey for example, when you leave a kingdom to fly to a new one, you get a brief cutscene of Mario in the clouds looking out the porthole of the Odyssey and then a quick dialogue bit w/ Cappy inside the Odyssey before you land on the kingdom... that is the game masking the loading of the new kingdom... so going open world will be an advantage... even in BOTW/TOTK the games only load when you enter a shrine...
I'm now expecting "Switch 2" to release in September next year but I now think 3D Mario might be a October or November 2025 release so Prime 4 being the launch game is possible

Lets see how well this comment ages when the games slowly get revealed and console as well.
That’s a *very specific* list of games lol. Probably not the best idea to predict a full list of games because that’s basically impossible. But one or two games can be a safer prediction. 😉

I would prefer that they launch Metroid Prime 4 - Beyond and a new Mario game, as launch games for the next Nintendo system only, and don´t make Switch versions of it. The reason is very simple: Why should i buy the next console from Nintendo, and spend 400$ - 500$ if they make those 2 games cross gen ???? I did the same when the Switch launched. My favourite Nintendo franchise is The Legend of Zelda, but when they announced it will launch for the Wii U also, i didn´t saw any reason to buy the Switch day one.
Hey Rob, I'm currently playing for the first time ever Luigi's Mansion 2 HD !! It's a fantastic game ! Do you think Luigi's Mansion 4 is coming on Switch 2 soon ?
Metroid prime 4 won’t showcase the switch 2 power as much as a switch 2 original game like 3D mario, while its not impossible its unprecedented, behind the scenes there have been no indication of a switch 2 version in the works while of course take it with a grain of salt to me that just means MP4 will receive more minor switch 2 upgrades compared to a original switch 2 game as focus behind the scenes looks to be for switch 1. Fortunately I believe from the very first switch 2 trailer we will get an indication of how nintendo views metroid prime 4 for switch 2 even if its a 4 second clip.
Nintendo was gonna launch with Metroid… Not Mario Nintendo doesn’t want more than one very large IP available day one but would rather have consistent drops of big games every couple months for the first year

Halo was brand new for Xbox and killed it for the console. If prime 4 is as good as we believe it is, it already has more traction than halo did and could easily be successful! They just gotta own it and roll with it if that’s the case. Just my opinion!
@@Ruleof2Review hell yeah bro. Love your channel. Always makes me happy when I don’t want to watch the craziness going on in the world haha. I work at PSA and WATA so it’s fitting! I’m hyped for prime 4!
We'll I hope they market Metroid Prime 4 properly for it to sell well, because there's alot riding on this, especially considering the state Metroid was in before Dread saved the franchise.
I really hope for a new mario kart and since thats the most sold switch game i think it also would be smart but this are some games i think could be a launch game (ofc not all of them) - New mario kart - New 3d mario (Mario galaxy 3 would be cool in my opinion) - New splatoon - Metroid prime 4
New 3D Mario will be the main launch title. I'm locked in on that. I'm sure there will be a few other things in the launch/launch window. Mario Kart 9 won't be far off, I suspect a smaller game at launch to, like a Yoshi game or Kirby? There will be some 3rd party stuff, maybe even Balders Gate 3 coming to Switch 2. They could also toss a new Fire Emblem game at launch, or throw a Zelda port as well. NOT BOTW, I'm talking WW HD or TP HD or a supposed OoT HD.
I don't think Switch 2 releases Day 1 with ANY NEW Mario game. I think DK is the other Day 1 game with MP4 Beyond. 3D Mario or Mario releases later in the year
What if they made Metroid a pack in title? Would be a great way to get more people into the franchise and people would still ALSO buy the new 3D Mario at launch
The way i see it BOTH are their best bet, almost no way a Mario or DK title pushes the system to the graphical limit, and they need that power demonstration, which leaves Prime 4, Perfect Dark, Bayonneta that horror title, or possibly Xeno title(or just monolift soft game in general) or to pray a perfect Port does the system well... Out of those options, Prime 4 is what they can polish the easiest, and if they add a system exclusive function to the game so much the better, further it would show off the Nintendo account transefer system. Meanwhile they likely also want a more family friendly IP release at the same time to sell to parents.
I know 3D Mario is the popular pick, but I think Metroid should be a launch as well. Metroid caters to a different audience that I think Nintendo wants to reach out to that Mario can't. I think it'd be even better if it was a spin-off title like Mario Kart that launched instead so that Metroid Prime 4 gets promoted as the definitive single-player experience and having the new 3D Mario be a holiday title to rack in users.
Rob... Metroid Prime 4 on two consoles would be the same game, but on a barely different cartridge... it is never going to happen. You'll going to need to see what the next console even is first before you could make any kind of prediction if Metroid Prime 4 on a second console would be possible since it would be based on how different the new controller is and what the difference even is and if that difference even makes sense to implement to Metroid Prime 4 in the first place.
3D Mario is almost a guarantee given that the Tokyo team responsible for those games hasn’t put out an original title since Super Mario Odyssey. They DID make Bowser’s Fury, but this was largely assisted by NST and others… and it was also a relatively small campaign mode. These games take anywhere from 2-4 years to develop, so there’s no way they “need more time” for Switch 2’s 3D Mario when they will have had nearly 8 years to develop the next game. And it almost certainly won’t be an “Odyssey 2.” Don’t like how it’s referred to this as a shorthand, because direct sequels to 3D Marios are the exception, not the rule. Galaxy 2 was only a thing once.
People will consider the launch software on the purchase of the console, if there was a brand new Mario it would seal the deal. Breath of the wild sold more games than consoles on launch. If the console is backwards compatible and Metroid prime 4 is out on Switch they won't need another version.
You briefly mentioned Mario Kart, but I'm surprised you didn't consider this being almost guaranteed. The Mario Kart team hasn't released a single standalone title since 2017, and Mario Kart games don't take 8 years to develop… so Mario Kart 9 or 10/X is almost a guaranteed launch window game on Switch 2.
Prime 4 won’t be a launch title. If the switch 2 comes out march, do you REALLY think prime 4 will be ready? Prime 4 is probably a holiday 2025 game. I bet the switch 2 will launch with a new 3D Mario.
@@TimDespairBear11but here's the funny irony, Odyssey was also a launch title so was Sonic Forces and Breath of The Wild and they didn't release till months later..
Metroid as a sole launch title would be very weak, particularly on the JP market. I cannot think Nintendo wants/can afford the messaging that "you don't really need Switch 2 right away, you're only missing out on the niche stuff" on its home market. Even as they keep the original Switch alive for some time, they will want the majority to transition to 2 swiftly and smoothly. Ideally, they would want a new Mario (or comparable, but that's Mario Kart, Zelda, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong?, Kirby? not a long list) that meaningfully uses whatever gimmick the S2 brings along, giving users and marketing an easy excuse to make the S2 an obvious purchase. Well, it's difficult to discuss details with no knowledge of what the S2 will be specifically.
i had hoped you would've talked about how launching with only MP4 is the equivalent of not launching with anything in Japan at all, with how unpopular the series is over there.
Glad to hear you praised the Wii U as a great system. Agree 1000%. It is a better system then the Switch, I still find it odd that the Switch, which is a watered down Wii U did better then the Wii U lol.
Why not both? Metroid Prime 3 was supposed to launch with the Wii but got delayed, and every successful Nintendo console launched with either a Zelda or cutting edge Mario game. (New Super Mario Bros. U was not cutting edge)
Metroid’s definitely not a “big” title sales-wise… they definitely don’t treat Metroid the same way they treat Zelda or Mario. If this were the case, the series wouldn’t have experienced TWO major hiatuses. Furthermore, a new Zelda an impossibility for their next console's launch window given that we’re only just getting Echoes of Wisdom this year, and we only just got the last major 3D Zelda last year. A new 3D Zelda is an unrealistic expectation until maybe 2027 or 2028.
That’s not happening until maybe 2027 or 2028 at the earliest. Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom took 5 years to develop, each… and that’s on CURRENT hardware. Nevermind a more beefed up Switch.
I actually think the strongest candidate is Mario 3D. It’s been 8 years and that was the launch title for the Switch. It only makes sense. That being said, I do believe there’ll be more than one launch title! And I do believe both MP4 and a new Mario will be launch titles. I actually thought for some time TotK would be too, but since it’ll take at least 2 years from its launch to get the Switch 2, it might just be released later on, but I do think it will come tho
Metroid Prime 4 has no chance to launch. You westerners keep thinking about yourselves and not Japan. Japanese gamers barely care about Metroid Prime and this isn’t changing anything. Nintendo cares about Japan and the whole world. It WILL launch with Mario because that caters to the whole world. I’m so tired of this fairy tale of Metroid Prime 4 launching. And no Nintendo will not launch it next to Mario because Mario will drown it out. It will release a month to a few months after the Switch 2 is out.
I bet my life on no Prime 4 Cross Gen. Makes no logical sense. There is not one single reason to do that. And if there was a second version, it would NOT be a better version lol. Past times were the same as the other version. Backwards compatibility means Switch 2 plays Prime 4 and all Switch games already. Prime 4 being cross gen won't effect sales for the series at ALL. Metroid is NOT a system seller and never ever will be and that's FINE. Doesn't need to be. It can enjoy it's smaller dedicated fanbase. Bigger isn't always better you know. Nobody is buying a Switch 2 for Prime 4, when the system they already have will play it. Mario is a system seller, and it would be an exclusive. You buy a system for exclusives, not cross gen games lol. You would have to have an IQ below 80 to get excited to buy a new system for a game when you could just pay for the game for the system you already have.
Switch 2 is coming our way soon…so which game is Nintendo’s best shot to launch the console with? Metroid? Mario? Something else?
Just for the sake of variety, I'd say something else, Animal Crossing, Kirby, The return of Starfox would also be compelling to buy the new system.
@@EarnestGamerI mean I’d love something more in the vein of Kirby or Starfox and whatnot. But I don’t think those titles make the same kind of impact Mario or Prime 4 would make. Just a theory though.
Probably 3D Mario as usually (or Zelda, but not this time). Metroid isn't a launch title that sells consoles, neither is Starfox, Kirby etc.
@Ray_2112 i think they could be good sellers in the first year, though. They'd be good variety for the launch window line-up
Metroid Prime 4 will absolutely be a cross-gen title with a launch on Switch 2 supporting 4K/60 and possibly some other visual upgrades. I would be shocked if it was not.
I thought the same
The best thing for Nintendo to do for Metroid is to make it a crossgen switch 2 launch title.
And even more surprised that it’s the 4th entry in a spin off franchise from one of Nintendos more niche IP. It’s just the worst idea ever

That’s true…but Galaxy 2 **did** happen.
@@Ruleof2Review I know Galaxy 2 happened what are you talking about?
At least we got Galaxy 2. 64, Sunshine, and now Odyssey have gotten no sequels at all. Yet Mario Land, Mario 3d Land, and NSMB did. Nintendo, man.
Realistically what you could see if there is a March 2025 console release is:
Mario Kart - Day 1
3D Mario - Holiday
Fire Emblem
Xenoblade Chronicles
ARMS 2
New IP
March 2026 seems like it might be a more likely console release date at this point.
I hope we get a new F-Zero game already. I also hope we get a new Punch out game where you can move around in the ring.
Honestly…. why not both? Having 2 big games at launch that are very different would increase sales
It’s a good question. But I think it’s smart to have a big launch game and then a big game to release a few months after launch. So they should stagger them imo.
Mario is definitely a safe bet but I can also see a Pokemon game
Why can't nintendo release a new mario and metroid on the same day?
3d mario or mario kart is most likely but aI can see them doubling up Metroid prime 4 with that Pokemon game in March 2025 with the switch 2 launch both will be cross gen And then mario kart can be a summer game and 3d Mario in October both will be switch 2 only, with other first and third party games as support
Mp4 is only game that really excites me from the last direct. Sorry.. it's the goat. I like games and I like Metroid, period.
U guys r right it been 7years for the switch n the year of march of 2024because the switch was released n the year of 2017and we don't count the year of 2017the first year of the switch was 2018 for the anniversary for the first year release so it been at 7years the switch and the switch2will last tell the year of 2034or maybe longer tell the year of 2035 for the last year of the switch and switch2 tell the next handheld console n release tell the year of 2034 and I hope the switch2 will cost like around $400 to$450 instead of$500and the switch2 storage I want is256gb of storage so the switch2can play more triple AAA games like GTA5OR GTA6and I hope the switch2 will last10more years and I hope the battery life will last tell5to8hours on the switch2of battery life and I hope the switch2 will last for 10years tell the year of 2034 and I want is a Dragon ball daima Dlc for Dragon ball XENOVERSE2or Dragon ball XENOVERSE3 for the switch and a switch2 n2024 or2025release for Dragon ball Daima dlc for Dragon ball XENOVERSE2or Dragon ball XENOVERSE3for the switch and switch2
For me this would be the Perfect Launch for Switch 2:3D Open World Mario,ARMS 2,New Mario Kart,3D Platformer Shovel Knight Sequel,No More Heros Spinoff,Splatoon 4,Fossil Fighters coming back with a new game,Dillions returning with a collection and new game,Monoliths New IP,and a New 3rd Party Excuslive tilte similiar to Mario and Rabids. Lets see how well this comment ages when the games slowly get revealed and console as well.
That’s a *very specific* list of games lol. Probably not the best idea to predict a full list of games because that’s basically impossible. But one or two games can be a safer prediction. 😉
That list is big enough to be a full year's worth of games, albeit not a very packed year.
@@calvinbrinenestoris2357 Hey at least I tried! What about yours?

@@calvinbrinenestoris2357 Good list! And I would love a OOT Remake again!
Hear me out Rob. I believe Nintendo will position the current switch as their DS or GameBoy and keep it running alongside this new console. Thoughts?
I would prefer that they launch Metroid Prime 4 - Beyond and a new Mario game, as launch games for the next Nintendo system only, and don´t make Switch versions of it.
The reason is very simple:
Why should i buy the next console from Nintendo, and spend 400$ - 500$ if they make those 2 games cross gen ????
I did the same when the Switch launched.
My favourite Nintendo franchise is The Legend of Zelda, but when they announced it will launch for the Wii U also, i didn´t saw any reason to buy the Switch day one.
launching with both is totally fine
Hey Rob,
I'm currently playing for the first time ever Luigi's Mansion 2 HD !! It's a fantastic game ! Do you think Luigi's Mansion 4 is coming on Switch 2 soon ?
Nice! That’s a great game. I loved it on 3DS. And yes I think LM4 is definitely in the works. 😉
They said that they will just announce the new system until march 25, not release it, right?
Sometime between now and March 2025. So it could happen at any time.
They should probably make pokemon legends za 3d mario and mario kart as a launch and metroid prime 4 can come later
Nintendo was gonna launch with Metroid… Not Mario
Nintendo doesn’t want more than one very large IP available day one but would rather have consistent drops of big games every couple months for the first year
What I want for Switch 2 is a Ocarina of Time Remake.
IDK what people expect from a OoT remake... Your childhood ain't coming back regardless.

Halo was brand new for Xbox and killed it for the console. If prime 4 is as good as we believe it is, it already has more traction than halo did and could easily be successful! They just gotta own it and roll with it if that’s the case. Just my opinion!
A great point. Absolutely agree!
I really hope for a new mario kart and since thats the most sold switch game i think it also would be smart but this are some games i think could be a launch game (ofc not all of them)
- New mario kart
- New 3d mario (Mario galaxy 3 would be cool in my opinion)
- New splatoon
- Metroid prime 4
For me I'm saving my dollars for s2 who wants to play MP4 on the of my kids can get my OLED an Mario jamboree this holiday
Its not an either/or scenario. As many games not being redundant at launch
I don't think Switch 2 releases Day 1 with ANY NEW Mario game. I think DK is the other Day 1 game with MP4 Beyond. 3D Mario or Mario releases later in the year
Snipperclipps 2 is a must have for launch.
Did anybody ever think that the 20X9 from MP4 is the year 2019, when they rebooted the game?!❤
NO 🤦♂️🤦♂️, 20X9 is a COSMIC YEAR it's just like light years, it's a measurement rather than an actual physical year..
@@groudonor12 yeah that and how convenient it is at 20X9 instead of 20X5, like 2025.. maybe.
Launch switch 2 with a brand new mario kart andI am there day one along with a new 3D Mario. Yes want to see metroid also
I see it launching with prime 4, mario kart and some party game like 1 2 switch. 3D mario will come out later on toward the holidays I reckon
I’m almost sure the S2 reveal is going to include a reveal of Mario Cart at the same time. Cart is going to be the launch title.
I’ve wanted Mario Galaxy 3 since I was nine. It’s probably never happening but it would make me lose my mind
For me personally, it needs either a brand new StarFox game or a full remake of Star Fox Assault. Other wise it's just not a day one purchase for me.
Ooooooo Wiiiiiiii I can't wait for dat Metroid Prime 4 😍
You briefly mentioned Mario Kart, but I'm surprised you didn't consider this being almost guaranteed. The Mario Kart team hasn't released a single standalone title since 2017, and Mario Kart games don't take 8 years to develop… so Mario Kart 9 or 10/X is almost a guaranteed launch window game on Switch 2.
Just like the whole tp/ww hd port situation. People can stop asking for odyssey 2 cause it’s never happening
For first party, I’m thinking Mario or Mario Kart and M4 will be launch titles.
I'm pretty sure Nintendo's next console will also have lots of ports from wherever. But a new Fzero? 😁😁😁
Who is Emio?
Prime 4 won’t be a launch title. If the switch 2 comes out march, do you REALLY think prime 4 will be ready? Prime 4 is probably a holiday 2025 game. I bet the switch 2 will launch with a new 3D Mario.
They say they HOPE to release it in March, emphasis on HOPE
@@groudonor12 well if it comes out holiday 2025 then maybe prime 4 could be a launch title but that’s the only way I can see it happening
@@TimDespairBear11but here's the funny irony, Odyssey was also a launch title so was Sonic Forces and Breath of The Wild and they didn't release till months later..
@@groudonor12 none of those were launch titles except botw
Well, it's difficult to discuss details with no knowledge of what the S2 will be specifically.

i had hoped you would've talked about how launching with only MP4 is the equivalent of not launching with anything in Japan at all, with how unpopular the series is over there.
main reason why i see it being mario is nintendo has almost always only used mario or zelda to launch their main system
Stop acting like there's two games on the system. "What else can I play on this thing?" About 5000 Switch games with better frame rates.
Pokemon sells more than Mario?!!!!! I've never in my life met someone who plays Pokemon. Everyone plays Mario games.
The world is a little bigger than just yours... ;)
…still Mario Odyssey 2.
Mario literally sells 10x more than Metroid.
Screw Mario, Modern Mario's HOT GARBAGE. Would rather wait for classic fan projects than waste money on the new Mario
Switch 2's launch games should be the big 3 of Nintendo: Zelda, Mario & Metroid.
You're completely right. It's just wishful thinking at this point, I mean I can remember a time where those names were the "Big 3" of Nintendo.
Why not both? If Metroid comes out in month 2 of the Switch 2’s life.
Pilotwings Switch 2
I think MP4 and 3D Mario will both be day 1 on Switch 2. Personally, I won't buy one until the next big Zelda title, Breath of the Wild moment.
That’s not happening until maybe 2027 or 2028 at the earliest. Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom took 5 years to develop, each… and that’s on CURRENT hardware. Nevermind a more beefed up Switch.
This is not even a question. Nintendo will want to launch with a BotW caliber game. So open world 3D Mario or Mario Kart 9 it is.
Is mario odyssey 2 yeah
Mario Kart
I actually think the strongest candidate is Mario 3D. It’s been 8 years and that was the launch title for the Switch. It only makes sense. That being said, I do believe there’ll be more than one launch title! And I do believe both MP4 and a new Mario will be launch titles. I actually thought for some time TotK would be too, but since it’ll take at least 2 years from its launch to get the Switch 2, it might just be released later on, but I do think it will come tho
Odyssey wasn’t a launch title for the Switch. Switch launched in March 2017, and Odyssey came out nearly 8 months after.
