I think Witcher 2 might be one of the most underrated games of all time. So many memories ahh i love witcher 3 but there's just something about this game
I think it was because Witcher 2(my first one I played in the series) was a total sueprise. I never knew an rpg could be this realistic and branch out the way it did. It was an awesome surprise.
Fucking love the music in all three Witcher games, but somehow the second one has such a unique, dark, mystical feel that the other two don't quite capture. "Dwarven Stone upon Dwarven Stone" gives me goosebumps.
witcher 2 was truly a masterpiece for those who knew the lore or read the books. It had a masive political game, that kickstarted the whole witcher 3 plot. First time I played the game, being also the first one I played, I only enjoyed it for the story, music, and atmosphere. But now, looking back on it, having played witcher 3 and read first 3 books, it's truly a delightful plot to follow.
This was truly a beautiful game. The genius of The Witcher 3 cannot be disputed, but it's a shame that The Witcher 2 gets overlooked by the majority. This game had some special characters and scenes.

@@s1lent_gr394 I think witcher 3 is a modern day morrowind but the trilogy in total is as well. Witcher 1 I predict will get a remaster since everyone is on the remaster kick nowadays. When that happens, I'll be all over it. Besides, if you dont play witcher 1, you'll miss certain information in the 2nd and 3rd that you wouldn't have known about unless you played the 1st one. Like with the aerondite sword. I misspelled it I'm sure.

I totally agree. Since august 2023, I replay new character from TW1. Finish first run and wonderful and nostaliga moments. Currently, I continue the adventure of Geralt in TW2 by importing savegame from TW1. Wonderful TW2, ambience, design, story, lore,.memorable etc... when I will finish this second run, I will for sure import savegame to continue to TW3 !!! I really understand what do you wrote on TW2. 🙏🏻

These videos are guddamn gold. Guess what I play during my DnD sessions when I'm the DM? 3:) Recently I actually pinned one adventure into Flotsam, like a week before Geralt comes around. Haunted house adventure. Epic stuff, players scared shitless, outside the stone walls of our gaming room (that looks a lot like a medieval tavern) was a storm and the Witcher (1+2+3) soundtrack was on. Not a whole lot of things in life that get better than that.
The first song is actually called A Quiet Corner, just thought I'd point that out, still love the music mixes I listen to The Witcher 3 mix almost every day!

Hi there, I'm sorry I didn't respond to your last reaction. I was writing a reaction but got interrupted in the process. I played the game on xbox 360 so I never had technical issues, concerning the atmosphere indeed it was different from the first. You can notice it in the soundtrack which had totally different accents than the first or the third. But for me it was a nice change, but I can imagine that a die hard witcher 1 complains about it. About the visuaI presentation I think they could indeed make the landscape a little bit more interesting, vergen rocks and the forest in Flotsam lacked sometimes some details but still good. The story remains great for me as usual and I never had problems with the combat in the witcher 2 which was one of the few points of criticism. Still it remains a very good game for me, but indeed the first and the third were two "masterpieces". Thank you for this conversation, it's always nice to hear two sides of the coin. Pleasure mate, yeah it's always interesting. I'm pleased some people really did enjoy it because that's what games are for but sadly it just didn't hit me xD
Witcher 2 certainly had a more melancholic feel to it, which I think is most fitting the brutal and dark world you were exploring. Running into a shack in the middle of the woods, only to find a family of skeletons and some bandits roaming about was something like "Damn, what a shitty world". Witcher 3's soundtrack had darkness to it, but it was more about "Sure, this is a terrible world, but I have the opportunity to save what is valuable in it from destruction (ie. Ciri)". This is why I maintain that playing at least Witcher 2 is really vital to hammer home the kind of world the characters in Witcher 3 come from, and that yes Vernon Roche is a dick, but there's more to him than you see.
i played through the witcher 2 during the height of lockdown so april-may and the emotions and nostalgia this music brings is indescribable. this is such a wonderful and cozy franchise, despite its heavy and morally difficult world. geralt is just an extremely comforting character, what can i say. i can't wait to play the witcher 3, i had it planned for july after my exams but then my laptop kinda broke down and when i had it fixed it was already time for the second round of exams. now i'm going on holiday for two weeks... guess i'll play it in october, just in time uni starts again lmaooo lucky me. i'm extremely excited though.
I LOVE your videos! the only thing that separates them from perfection is duplicated songs coming one after the other. the repetition takes you out of the vibe. i suggest adding some songs between them

This game presents the true Witcher atmosphere among all 3. Such brutal, corrupted and beautiful at the same time. The story, dirty politic games... There is something that part 1 and 3 are lack of. But still - brilliant games!
I never finished this game, and I regret that I do not have time to take it. I was able to finish only the third part of the series with a dlc heart of stone. But I love the Witcher soundtracks
Those, who refuse to play the first 2 Witcher games, because they're old and "outdated" and only acknowledge the Witcher 3, don't know what their missing. True, they're not as good as the Witcher 3 imo, but are nonetheless outstanding games on their own. The Witcher 1 is indeed old technically speaking and the combat system may not be to a lot of people's liking, though I personaly actually kind of liked it, but common, it's a 2007 game. The story, however, is excellent. The soundtrack is too and not even the Witcher 3 can beat it's atmosphere. The Witcher 2's graphics, provided you have everything on the highest setting, easily holds out even by todays standards, it was amazing for 2011. Combat improved, story also very good, though perhaps slightly weaker than that of the Witcher 1, but that's just me. Alas, apparently still not good enough for younger generations.
I was starting to wander why haven't you made a compilation of the witcher 2 songs... the first game has some really special and relaxing music, the second one is just too much epic.
I think this game has 2 major story problems: 1. I feel like major event before dont really matter as they make it out to be. For example Killing prince Stennis may be important for Aedirn, but it doesnt change anyting in the game, other than few details. Sparing Aryan La Vallete(Whos not blonde nor blue eyed) has no effect on story, other than that one quest, which doesnt really matter in long run. 2. THE ENTIRE "WHERE IS TRISS MERIGOLD?" questline. I hate this quest for reasons, too long, annoying foes and more crashes than entire game.

Witcher 2 certainly had a more melancholic feel to it, which I think is most fitting the brutal and dark world you were exploring. Running into a shack in the middle of the woods, only to find a family of skeletons and some bandits roaming about was something like "Damn, what a shitty world". Witcher 3's soundtrack had darkness to it, but it was more about "Sure, this is a terrible world, but I have the opportunity to save what is valuable in it from destruction (ie. Ciri)".
This is why I maintain that playing at least Witcher 2 is really vital to hammer home the kind of world the characters in Witcher 3 come from, and that yes Vernon Roche is a dick, but there's more to him than you see.
i played through the witcher 2 during the height of lockdown so april-may and the emotions and nostalgia this music brings is indescribable. this is such a wonderful and cozy franchise, despite its heavy and morally difficult world. geralt is just an extremely comforting character, what can i say.
i can't wait to play the witcher 3, i had it planned for july after my exams but then my laptop kinda broke down and when i had it fixed it was already time for the second round of exams. now i'm going on holiday for two weeks... guess i'll play it in october, just in time uni starts again lmaooo lucky me. i'm extremely excited though.

I LOVE your videos! the only thing that separates them from perfection is duplicated songs coming one after the other. the repetition takes you out of the vibe. i suggest adding some songs between them

Try the combat overhaul mod. It is developed by a modder that CDPR invited to work on The Witcher 3. Made my game a lot more enjoyable.

This game presents the true Witcher atmosphere among all 3. Such brutal, corrupted and beautiful at the same time. The story, dirty politic games... There is something that part 1 and 3 are lack of. But still - brilliant games!
So love the elven ruins of Caelmewedd and the baths. Letting my imagination run with Iorveth.

I never finished this game, and I regret that I do not have time to take it. I was able to finish only the third part of the series with a dlc heart of stone. But I love the Witcher soundtracks
Those, who refuse to play the first 2 Witcher games, because they're old and "outdated" and only acknowledge the Witcher 3, don't know what their missing. True, they're not as good as the Witcher 3 imo, but are nonetheless outstanding games on their own. The Witcher 1 is indeed old technically speaking and the combat system may not be to a lot of people's liking, though I personaly actually kind of liked it, but common, it's a 2007 game. The story, however, is excellent. The soundtrack is too and not even the Witcher 3 can beat it's atmosphere. The Witcher 2's graphics, provided you have everything on the highest setting, easily holds out even by todays standards, it was amazing for 2011. Combat improved, story also very good, though perhaps slightly weaker than that of the Witcher 1, but that's just me. Alas, apparently still not good enough for younger generations.
I was starting to wander why haven't you made a compilation of the witcher 2 songs... the first game has some really special and relaxing music, the second one is just too much epic.

I think this game has 2 major story problems:
1. I feel like major event before dont really matter as they make it out to be. For example Killing prince Stennis may be important for Aedirn, but it doesnt change anyting in the game, other than few details. Sparing Aryan La Vallete(Whos not blonde nor blue eyed) has no effect on story, other than that one quest, which doesnt really matter in long run.
2. THE ENTIRE "WHERE IS TRISS MERIGOLD?" questline. I hate this quest for reasons, too long, annoying foes and more crashes than entire game.
Dev's made such a leap between Witcher 2 and 3 in terms of music...
The styles differs that's sure, but still it's beautiful in a kind of way for me.
