It sounds like you're facing your situation with a strong and resilient spirit. Making the best of one's circumstances, especially during times when you might feel alone, is truly commendable. I hope this Thanksgiving brings you moments of joy and peace, and perhaps opportunities to connect with others, even in small ways. Remember, communities-both online and local-can offer support and companionship. You're not alone in your experiences, and reaching out, as you've done here, can sometimes open new doors. Wishing you a warm and Happy Thanksgiving!
We left all we knew in the Midwest, I DO have family, good friends and dogs. I left for FL at age 57. I really love Florida and can deal with the heat better than the cold, frigid winters. I live at 7:20 what your talking about should and shouldn't dos....most people will not even leave their small little town and there's nothing wrong with that. I started getting triggered in about August when id hear the crunching leaves underneath. I didn't realize how unhappy I was in the state I was raised in. The daily vitamin D has been amazing, the occasional rainy days are a welcomed relief. The hurricaines of course not too much fun but beach state has something that's not too great. So we make the most of it. Congrats on your move, stay safe and most pf all have FUN!
Your perspective is truly inspiring! Starting over at any age, especially multiple times into your 70s, showcases incredible resilience and adaptability. Your advice to live one day at a time and embrace life as a fluid journey is wise and something we can all benefit from remembering. Thank you for sharing your experience-it's a valuable reminder that it's never too late to begin anew and that every day is a chance to shape our path. Let's keep enjoying the journey, one day at a time!
Me too..I purposely have releases homes , jobs and environments with the metaphysical understanding everything is temporary ..I felt it was practice ..And after the most challenging 2023..where my husband crossed and several big difficult life events happened ..I have come out the other side understanding we are all here by choice and to witness the most historical shift on the Planet. Hang on ladies and gentlemen we are in for a wild ride.
Im 60. My husband and love of my life died of Covid in 2021. He was 58, I was 57. Never thought it possible. He was full of life, fit, rode bullet bikes. Then our friend committed suicide. So here I am still in our home. Im in southern Utah and I love it. Its hot in the Summer but for now I love it. Zion park, Arches, so much here. I suffered ptsd, and am finally getting my mental health back on track. I walk and go to the gym regularly. Subbing!
Sorry for your loss. I lost my wife of 32 years two years ago and can appreciate the hole left behind when your love of your life dies. Wishing you peace and joy. TimE
I'm deeply sorry to hear about the tremendous losses you've endured with the passing of your husband and the tragic loss of your friend. Coping with such profound grief is incredibly challenging, and it's understandable that you've experienced such intense emotional impacts. It's heartening to hear that you're finding some solace in the beauty of southern Utah and that activities like walking and going to the gym are helping you regain your mental health. Zion and Arches are indeed spectacular places that can offer peace and a sense of connection to something greater during times of healing. Thank you for subscribing and sharing your journey. Your resilience in facing such difficult circumstances is truly inspiring. May you continue to find strength and healing in the beauty around you, and may your steps forward bring you comfort and renewed joy. You're not alone, and this community is here to support you along the way.
Honey I relate with you about the situation you're having..I was 58 and was homeless living in my pickup...4 door ford F-150... it was very traumatizing... God helped me through the process
I'm truly sorry to hear about the challenging times you faced, being homeless and the trauma that comes with such an experience. It's heartening to hear that you found strength and support through your faith during those difficult times. Overcoming such adversity is a testament to your resilience and the power of hope and perseverance. If you're comfortable sharing, it would be great to hear how you navigated that period and what steps you took toward stability. Your story could offer valuable insights and encouragement to others who might be facing similar hardships. Thank you for your openness, and I wish you continued strength and stability in your journey ahead. May you find comfort, security, and peace in all your future endeavors.

A lot of people in our age group are going through internal and physical changes. The strangeness of this time is unlike anything that I have witnessed before during my lifetime.
My cousin lost everything after a draining divorce and a partnership that went bankrupt and is now, at 55, starting from scratch. Luckily, he still has his big van to live in and has found a six-hour job that keeps him busy while giving him a decent income to get by. As he metaphorically told me: "The advantage of being at a low point in life is that everywhere you look, and everything you try, you see hope and a way up." I wish you progress on your path, Veronica. 💐
Thank you for sharing your cousin's story. It's a poignant reminder of the resilience and hope that can emerge from challenging times. His outlook on seeing hope and a way up from a low point is profoundly inspiring. Stories like these reinforce the idea that starting over, no matter the circumstances or age, can open new doors and opportunities for growth and improvement. I appreciate your kind wishes, and I'm sending the same positivity and encouragement to your cousin as he continues on his journey. May he find continued strength and success in each step he takes. Thank you for your support and for the beautiful flowers. 💐 Let's keep looking up and moving forward together!
Seven years ago, at age 58 I left what had become an abusive marriage. He had always been difficult but this was something else. I got a small buy out on the house (of course he wanted everything and threatened to bankrupt me in court) Bought a tiny condo and completely redid it. Changed my job. I have no surviving family and of course my husband had a huge family and he convinced them to cut me off. It was a difficult journey but I'm pretty good now, It takes time to adjust .
Your courage and resilience in navigating such a challenging situation are truly commendable. Leaving an abusive relationship and starting anew, especially under the circumstances you described, requires immense strength. It's inspiring to hear that you've been able to rebuild your life by securing a new home, renovating it to your taste, and changing your job to better suit your new beginning. It's understandable that this journey has been difficult, especially without family support and having to deal with such drastic changes. Your experience is a powerful reminder that, although it takes time to adjust, it is possible to emerge stronger and create a fulfilling life on your own terms. Thank you for sharing your story. Your resilience is inspiring, and I hope it encourages others in similar situations to seek the happiness and peace they deserve. Wishing you continued strength and happiness in your new life. You're doing wonderfully, and it's heartening to hear that you're feeling pretty good now. Keep embracing your journey!
All Christ centered teachings for success in all areas of life. The gospel of Thomas. The Kybalion. Neville Goddard. In that order. Plus .... Power back in prayer. Tell-A-Vision. The keys. When the Bible was being edited by the Pharisee and Sanhedrin, (who later took the titles Pope and the council of Cardinals) They deliberately broke the Lord's prayer when they instituted the translation in the Latin. They did, infact, turn our Father Creator into a fetch-/-vending machine. Thereby, leaving every part of it up to him. Hallow your own name, do your own will, restore your kingdom yourself. (Think about it.) What of this includes you? None of it includes you. Other than you being a sit on the couch recipient of his deeds, of course. Originally, Jesus had said it in the Greek. And here it is. Our Father who art in heaven. Thy name must be being Hallowed. (That means, you Hallow it.) They Will must be being done on earth as it is in heaven. (Guess who's on earth? You are. It's up to you to do his Will here.) Thy kingdom must be being restored. (Yeah, that's you again. And for the individual, it doesn't mean unto the whole world, it is generational. Lovingly, slowly, repetitively, patiently tell your children. Ten years, that's how long it takes to put it in their hearts. Remember, do not turn it into a weapon. Your neck, the mill stone and the sea.) Give us today, our tomorrow's bread. (The wisdom of Jesus, as though we stood beside him in the present tense.) Forgive us our failings as we forgive those who have hurt us. (Now, what I am writing here will make a lot more sense once you have read, keys to the Kingdom. If you have truly reconciled them unto your heart and forgiven them to the full measure, is this not the first time that this has come out of your mouth in all it's intended honesty? I'm betting it is.) Lead us away from evil, delivering us from its temptation as these are not that which you intended. (This may differ as I could not find the translation for accuracy.) Bottom line here is that you are a required part of the power pack. He goes before us and prepares the way. Is Simply this. You want or need a better position and pay. So, you pray unto the Father and he, because the Father is a mind, he is mentality, (the kybalion will explain this perfectly.) He reaches forth in thought, whispering to the hearts and minds of those who will assist you, to give you that which you have asked for. (In belief. Ask, believe and receive.)This requires you to do your part, go to work. Recognize that the Father wants a personal relationship with you, and he desires that you want one with him. That means, you have your part in this. Do your part. Now, remembering that our Father is a mind, he, when communicating with the prophets did this in visions. So, when you pray to the Father remember, the words are for you to build a vision with. In essence, Tell-A-Vision to the Father. Let him see it in your mind. Be clear, get precise, aim for accuracy. Now, in order for prayer to work, the the Father said, if you have anything against your brother go make peace, really. And you know as well as anyone, in this day and anger age, it's often unwise to do so, in person, that is. Follow the instructions below. The Keys to the Kingdom When one understands reconciliation to its fullest meaning, one understands forgiveness. Without reconciliation, forgiveness cannot stand. Reconciliation kills, on impact, all negative emotion. All of it, from your first breath, unto your last. The only emotion that reconciliation cannot defend itself against, is that of love. Love is energy, your soul is energy. So, if the adage, you are what you eat, is true, then the only thing feeding your soul is love and your soul will mature properly and become love in of itself, as we have been commanded, to become like our Father. Who, in of himself, is love. Vengeance is mine, said the Lord, because when you give him vengeance, he turns it into correction and saves his other child, if they will let him. Imagine how you are going to feel towards your enemy in heaven. If you can really imagine the truest form of that feeling, congratulations, those feelings have just transcended time and space. In essence, you asked, asked to see, that's prayer, you believed what you saw, you received it, you felt it. Again, congratulations, you just asked, believed and received. The Father creator loved us, reconciled us unto himself and forgave us. The steps matter. Unless reconciliation is first, forgiveness falls flat on it's face and dies. Forsake the parade. Go unto the Father yourself and take the walk of life with your hand in his. And consider this, with our Father, I truly believe it's, come as you are and I will change you as I need you. Start your commitment to him with these words if they suit you. Finish the statements. Here I am. I am willing. What is the truth? And you had better be sincere or it's going to fail. (Anger. Let us deal with this for a moment. If you are angry about something that happened three weeks ago, it's because, you have a muscle in your stomach, you know the one, that is a chemical junkie. This muscle was present when that particular memory was created and stored. And it calls out that chemical signature, and forces you to re-live that moment, so it can feed, you have not been angry in a long time, you been duped. And now that you know, what are you going to do, fake angry? As soon as you begin to feel angry about anything from the past, stop it. Just take a look around you, and know nothing happened to you today, unless it actually did. And if it did, that's the only thing you can be truly angry about.) (Do not invite the back stabber to your table, here. What they did matters, they, given the opportunity, will do it again. You have a date in heaven, see them there. Old people bring old habits.) (Live in reconciliation. Do not leave that state of being.) (Live in believe, of ask, believe and receive. This would have been better stated as, ask believe and be given. Recieving means to be given, therefore, it's not up to you to move beyond, believe. That's the Father's right and it also allows for recognition of his works and compassion. Also, Throw away the timer.) (Regarding Faith. Faith is simply loyalty. Loyalty to the fact that you asked, loyalty to the fact that you believed. Stay loyal, stay faithful. Or one might choose to see Faith from the vantage point of, staying true.) (As for the judgement room that we have all heard of, well, it may surprise you to learn that that room is in your head, and it's running constantly. We all have a piece of the Christ Consciousness in our minds. All of us. This is how silent prayer is heard. And anytime you do anything good or bad, your heart has an intention and emotional reaction. That intention and emotional reaction is what's being judged. And your judgement is handed down second to last breath. Because up until then you can change your mind about your intention to our Father. You can come to understand this better if you read the letters on the internet from nurses who have been presant for the death of those patients they have been charged to take care of. Worst death bed passings, you'll find them. And you will find good one's as well. This is why your sincerity in your commitment to the Father and to honesty with him are so very important.) (Do not end your prayers with, Amen. To you, this has always meant the prayer has ended. And in that, your right. It's over. End your prayers with, So Be It. This way the energy moves into the future. And it's the translation of, Amen, but in words that, as you understand, have a whole different meaning.) (Do not judge lest you be judged with the same measure. Meaning, when we judge we will be put in the same situation, doing the same thing that we were judging others for. Break all judgements through sincere intention. After all, people and situations change. So, let it be to you as this, "They are still alive." No further, for the Father has got this.) (Anxiety/Stagnation is common place with our Father. He gives us time for what he is teaching us to take it's place in our lives and become a living part of who we are before adding more of his wisdom to our mindset. If it were not so with man, what we learned would become buried under the new knowledge and become worthless.)
Glad ur out of the toxic relationship, he sounds like a real scumbag, you are strong now, love ur life the way you always wanted my thoughts are with you love from IRELAND
I started a Law degree at 54 in UK after we lost everything when my husband left . I did it in two years and graduated with a2:1 . I am glad I did it . Good luck x
I started over alone in 2023, fiancé backed out then my employer sold out - lost my job of 29+ years , at the same time I had my home for sale and it sold within 3 hours of hitting the market . I moved to a new city and purchased a new home while looking for a new job, a miracle happened and a remote job fell into my lap. I still had everything in boxes when I went to the interview and was hired. I dont know how I pulled it all off
Because it was in your destiny. Every single choice you made leading up to the point in which a remote job fell into your lap, led you to that exact moment.
Your story is a remarkable example of resilience and determination in the face of multiple significant life changes. It's incredible how you managed to navigate such challenging transitions-from moving cities and finding a new job to dealing with personal upheavals-all at once. The fact that you secured a remote job so quickly after moving, and while still unpacking, truly does sound like a miracle! It’s encouraging to hear that despite the difficulties, things lined up for you in the end. Your experience shows that sometimes, when it feels like everything is falling apart, it might just be falling into place. Thank you for sharing your journey; it's a powerful reminder of the strength we often don't realize we have until we are tested. Keep embracing your new beginnings, and may your new home and job bring you continued stability and happiness. You’ve done something extraordinary, and it’s inspiring to hear how you pulled through!
I'm 59 starting over too. Love your message and being outdoors. The struggle is real, RUclips is so lonely. You've got this. You are inspiring us thanks
Thank you for your kind words and for sharing a bit about your own journey. Starting over at any stage comes with its challenges, but also with unique opportunities to reinvent ourselves and grow. I'm glad you find inspiration in the message and content, and I hope it helps to know you're not alone, even if RUclips can feel like a solitary endeavor at times. Let's keep supporting each other and finding strength in our shared experiences. You've got this too, and thank you for being part of this inspiring community!
Last summer, I did 14 days on an Alaskan cruise solo. In January, I did a solo transatlantic cruise, ending with four days and three West End musicals in London. It was so empowering to realize I could do such amazing things alone! I’m less than a month away from my 64th birthday and contemplating a big move. Lord knows where I’ll end up! I’m just trying to go with the flow. Happy trails to you! Have fun! 😊❤️
Your solo travels sound absolutely amazing! An Alaskan cruise and a transatlantic journey ending with musicals in London-that's truly inspiring. It's fantastic that you've embraced the empowerment that comes from exploring the world on your own terms. As you contemplate your next big move, may your spirit of adventure and openness to new experiences guide you to wonderful places. Wishing you a very happy early birthday and exciting, fulfilling adventures ahead. Go wherever your heart takes you, and enjoy every moment. Happy trails and have fun! 😊❤

I'm starting over at 61. Still live in Florida, but changed my life of 30 years. I'm in my 4th quarter of life and after my depression I am starting to get excited again with freedom! Been a long time coming. You got this!!!
It's truly inspiring to hear about your journey of transformation and renewal at 61. Overcoming depression and finding excitement in life again is a significant achievement, and your positive outlook on this new chapter is commendable. Thank you for sharing your positive experience and encouragement! It's wonderful to hear how starting over at 57 has brought you joy and fulfillment. That’s sound advice! Being self-reliant in terms of finances and personal happiness is a foundational aspect of living a fulfilled and empowered life. When you have control over these critical areas, you’re better positioned to make choices that truly align with your needs and goals, without undue influence from others. Emphasizing that relationships are choices highlights the importance of entering and maintaining them for the right reasons-not out of necessity, but because they genuinely enhance your life and bring mutual happiness and support. Thank you for sharing this valuable perspective. It's an important reminder for everyone, whether they are just starting out in life or finding themselves at a crossroads. Ensuring your independence can make all the difference in how you navigate relationships and life's challenges.
Agreed!!! SOLO TRAVEL 🧳 ✈️ 🌎 JUST DO IT!!! ❤️. NEVER regretted an adventure I embarked upon solo! I’m 54 and, about to head off to New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Thailand and finally Japan over the next 3 1/2 months!
So glad your better. I know life throws such curve balls. But there was a light at the end of the tunnel 4 yrs after my husband died. I found the love of my life, loves me unconditionally always by my side through thick or thin. Always makes me smile & laugh her name is "Donut" my cute little furry baby gave me a reason to keep going on this journey called life! 💛😇💛🙏
What a heartwarming turn your life has taken! It's wonderful to hear that you've found such joy and companionship in your furry friend, Donut, after experiencing such a significant loss. May you continue to enjoy this enriching phase of your life, filled with love and power! 💕
Whenever I’m depressed I just go to Barnes & Noble and look at all the books in the self-help section lol. The titles alone just sometimes make me crack up for example how to eliminate toxic people from your life. Sometimes that is part of starting over
That's a wonderfully unique approach to lifting your spirits! Browsing through titles in the self-help section can indeed provide some unexpected humor and also a bit of perspective. It's great that you've found a way to lighten your mood and perhaps even gather some useful insights during challenging times. You're right, sometimes starting over does involve evaluating relationships and making changes that benefit our mental health and well-being. Thank you for sharing this slice of your routine-it's a reminder that there are many small, everyday actions we can take to feel better and move forward in our lives. Keep finding those moments of laughter and insight!
Thank you so much for your lovely compliment and encouraging words! I truly appreciate your support and positivity. It's uplifting to hear such kind feedback, and I'm excited about the many adventures and happy moments ahead. I'll definitely keep the spirit and attitude going strong. Thanks again for being a part of this journey with me!
It’s not actually ‘starting over’, it’s just moving along your path…the way it is intended. You are never given more or less than you can handle. Stay on your path…it will always lead to YOU. Namaste.
What a beautiful and philosophical way to view life's changes and challenges! Reframing "starting over" as simply moving along one's path offers a more continuous and purposeful perspective on our experiences. It suggests that every phase and transition is part of a broader, meaningful journey toward self-discovery and fulfillment. Your words remind us that life's difficulties are not obstacles but rather integral parts of shaping who we are and who we can become. The idea that we are never given more than we can handle instills a sense of strength and resilience, encouraging us to face each day with courage and optimism. Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and inspiring message. "Stay on your path…it will always lead to YOU," is a powerful reminder to trust in the journey and in ourselves. Namaste.
You're a very strong, capable woman. Your move took a lot of bravery, getting out of FL, leaving everything behind. I had several people in my life always talking me out of anything that made them feel anxious -- my parents, primarily my mother, at the top of the list. I started to think of my parents as, "the dream killers." No matter what it was, it was "too dangerous," "not a good idea," "I don't want you to do that!" Your way of not disclosing your plans to others is smart! I wish you luck on your upcoming explorations.
I remarried at the age of 64 and we get along very well. He is older and very respectful. I couldn’t stand to be alone after became a widow. Life is good with the 3 of us:my rescued Doggo, my new husband, and I😊
What a wonderful new chapter you've started! It's heartwarming to hear that you've found companionship and happiness again in your remarriage, and that your new husband is kind and respectful. Including a rescued dog in your family sounds like it has brought even more joy to your life. Your story is a beautiful reminder that it's never too late for new beginnings and that companionship can bring great comfort and happiness. Thank you for sharing your uplifting experience. May you, your husband, and your furry friend continue to enjoy many happy and loving years together! 😊
@@clairechloe5294 Thank you for your response! Staying hopeful about the future, especially during times of change or uncertainty, is a powerful mindset. At 56, you have a wealth of experiences to draw from and many opportunities ahead. Embracing a hopeful outlook can open doors to new possibilities and paths you might not have considered before. If you ever find your hope wavering, remember that it's okay to seek support, whether from friends, family, or even professional resources. Sharing your thoughts and concerns can often bring new perspectives and rejuvenation. Thank you again for connecting here. May your future be bright and filled with reasons to remain hopeful. Here’s to a fulfilling and inspiring journey ahead!
Life takes all kinds of unexpected turns. Thank you for being brave enough to share your story. It's nice to know one is not alone. Best wishes to you on the next chapter of your life.
Thank you for your encouraging words and for acknowledging the twists and turns of life. It truly helps to know we're not alone in our experiences. Sharing our stories can be a powerful way to connect and support each other. Best wishes to you too as you navigate your own chapters-may they be filled with joy and discovery!
I'm 62 and starting over. My husband left me for another woman without telling me he just walked away. It hit me like i was T-Boned. I was so upset i had vertigo, and i was taken to the hospital. I wish you all the best. ❤
I'm truly sorry to hear about the challenges you've faced. It must have been incredibly tough to go through such a sudden and painful transition. Remember, it's okay to feel upset and take time to heal. You're not alone, and I'm glad you reached out to share your story. Wishing you strength and all the best as you start this new chapter. Take care of yourself, and know that there's a community here that supports you. ❤
That's wonderful to hear! Embracing minimalism can be so freeing, especially as it allows you to focus on what truly matters in life. Thank you for your support and for tuning into the channel. It's great to have a community of like-minded individuals who are also on journeys toward simplicity and meaningful living. I hope you continue to find inspiration and ideas that resonate with your minimalist lifestyle. Here's to living intentionally and celebrating each step of the journey together! 🎉
From my experience of being homeless during Greece debt crisis keep in mind that starting over again is not a sprint thing but a hard marathon. I wish you to be strong and motivated during this difficult journey.
Thank you for sharing your perspective and experience from such a challenging time. Your analogy of starting over as a marathon rather than a sprint is incredibly apt and provides valuable insight into the resilience and endurance required in difficult times. Your well-wishes and encouragement are much appreciated, and they serve as a reminder that while the journey can be tough, maintaining strength and motivation is key to overcoming obstacles. Your experience is a testament to human resilience, and your advice is both inspiring and grounding for anyone facing similar challenges. I wish you continued strength and hope on your path as well. May we all keep moving forward, one step at a time, with determination and hope.
I'm 58 and I want to start over, also completely alone, but there is nowhere in the U.S. I feel like starting over. I am in Illinois and hate it here, always have, and while there are plenty of great spots to live in the U.S., I'm really over the culture of this country. I too have embraced diet and exercise and am literally the strongest I"ve ever been. SE Asia is my intended destination, I love being able to go anywhere alone and feel completely safe.
It sounds like you've reached a powerful turning point in your life, and your decision to embrace health and strength is truly inspiring. Moving to a completely new environment, especially one as culturally rich and diverse as Southeast Asia, can offer a refreshing new perspective and a profound sense of renewal. It's fantastic that you feel empowered and secure in your decision to move internationally, especially valuing safety and a change from the familiar. As you prepare for this significant transition, researching your destination, understanding visa requirements, and connecting with expat communities can provide additional support and ease the adjustment process. Your journey is a testament to the idea that it's never too late to redefine your life and pursue what brings you happiness and fulfillment. Best of luck with your move to Southeast Asia-may it be everything you hope for and more!
I was just 'commenting' to Veronica where I mentioned that I Highly Recommend Malaysia when it comes to South East Asia: especially Penang Island, Kuala Lumpur/KL & Malacca/Melaka in Malaysia & The Malaysian People Are Absolutely Brilliant & Genuinely Welcoming🤗❣️
P.S. Malaysia & Singapore are the only Actually Safe & Secure countries anymore in South East Asia (of where English is also widely spoken & well understood) & Malaysia & Singapore are 2 South East Asian Countries that are also Very Pro-Westerner/Sincerely Friendly & Welcoming Towards Westerners. Bali, Indonesia is still a pretty decent place to visit/vacation even though it's become super busy these days. (I personally would completely avoid Thailand, Laos, The Philippines, Myanmar & Cambodia).
Hi. I also experienced this in my 50’s. I am 67 now. I live in Rhode Island. It took me a long time to get over my divorce. I wish you luck in your journey.
Thank you for sharing your experience and for your kind words. It sounds like you've navigated some challenging times, and your perspective is a valuable reminder of the resilience required to move forward after significant life changes like a divorce. It's encouraging to hear that you've found your path through it, even if it took a long time. I appreciate your well wishes and hope that your journey continues to bring you peace and fulfillment in Rhode Island. May your story inspire others who are going through similar challenges to stay hopeful and persistent. Best of luck to you as well, and thank you again for reaching out!
I’m your age, I was a stay at home mom. I’m in grad school and a single mom. I got through all the divorce drama. I’m still rebuilding. But you stay focused everyday & gradually everything changes.
Your resilience and determination are truly admirable. Going back to grad school while managing single parenthood and navigating through a divorce shows incredible strength and commitment to rebuilding and moving forward. It's inspiring to hear that you've kept your focus through such challenging times, steadily working towards change and improvement. Your journey is a powerful example that, with perseverance and focus, it is possible to reshape our lives, even under tough circumstances. Thank you for sharing your experience. Keep pushing forward, and may your continued efforts lead to even greater achievements and personal fulfillment. You’re doing an amazing job, and your story is sure to inspire others facing similar challenges.
I'm 60+ and will be starting over next year when I sell and move out of Ohio. Not sure where I'm going but I can't stay here. Costs are skyrocketing and I don't care for this area anymore anyway for so many reasons. My wife passed 5 years ago and there's nothing to keep me and my two cats here anymore. I want to spend the rest of my life doing what I want and not what the confines of others and small lot-lines are forcing me to do. I feel like a prisoner in my own home.
It sounds like you're ready for a significant change, and although starting over can be daunting, it can also be incredibly liberating-especially when the current environment no longer meets your needs or brings you joy. Making the decision to move and explore new possibilities is a brave step towards building a future where you can live more freely and according to your own desires. I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your wife, and it's understandable that you’d want to find a new environment that might offer a fresh perspective and new opportunities for happiness. As you consider your next steps, exploring different locations that might offer a better cost of living and a community that aligns more closely with your lifestyle can be exciting. Taking your two cats along on this new adventure means you won’t be starting completely alone, and they can provide companionship and comfort as you transition to a new place. Here’s to finding a space where you feel free, fulfilled, and able to do the things you love without feeling confined. May this next chapter bring you peace, joy, and a sense of freedom.
@@FridaKristensen-g4o Thank you for that. We were married 35 years and it's hard to get through. But I am trying to live the rest of my life and hoping to one day find someone to help spend that with.
56 here. I am jealous! I would love to be able to do what you're doing. Complicated health issues keep me where I've been for 33 years. I guess that would be my advice. You have your health right now. You never know when that might change so have an adventure. We only have this life once. Live it to the fullest. And I'll be cheering you on from Kansas.❤
Thank you so much for your heartfelt message and encouragement. Your perspective on the importance of seizing opportunities while we have our health is incredibly valuable and a poignant reminder for all of us. I'm sorry to hear about your health issues, and I deeply appreciate your support despite the challenges you face. It's wonderful to have your cheer from Kansas! I will carry your advice with me as I continue on this journey, aiming to make the most of each moment. Your words inspire me to appreciate my current health and to live adventurously, knowing that life is indeed precious and sometimes unpredictable. Thank you for being a part of this journey, even from afar. Here's to living life to its fullest, in whatever ways we can! ❤
Hello! Thank you for your kind words and for sharing a bit about your own situation. It takes a lot of bravery to consider making significant changes, especially when dealing with depression. Selling up and starting over could indeed open new doors and opportunities that might bring a refreshing change to your life. As you think about these next steps, it’s important to have a support system in place-whether it’s friends, family, or professional help-to guide you and provide encouragement. Changes can be both exciting and intimidating, but sometimes they are exactly what we need to start a new chapter and find new paths to happiness. I admire your courage in considering such a move and wish you the best of luck with your plans for next year. You’ve got this too! May your journey bring you joy, fulfillment, and the positive change you’re hoping for.
I was suddenly widowed at 42 with 4 kids at home, no life insurance. I’m 62 now and still single, but endured a 3 year abusive relationship that ended 3+ years ago. You can do this!!!
Your resilience and strength through such profound challenges are truly inspiring. Losing a partner so suddenly and navigating life as a single parent while facing financial hardships shows incredible courage. It's commendable that you've also managed to break free from an abusive relationship, taking yet another step towards healing and self-reliance. Your encouragement means a lot, and it's a powerful reminder that no matter the obstacles, it's possible to persevere and emerge stronger. Thank you for sharing your journey and for the supportive words. Your message uplifts not only me but also others who might be in similar situations. Keep embracing your strength, and remember, you are not alone in this journey. You've proven that you can indeed do this, and continue to do so every day.
@@VeronicaEdwards50 very kind, thoughtful reply, thank you! But, I am alone on this journey, we all are. I’ve just made the choice to embrace and love myself and take each day as it comes. Namaste, friend!
My mind is in my 30’s but my body is 71. I don’t feel uncomfortable traveling solo. Just make sensible decisions. I wouldn’t cross the desert at night. As long as you make sensible decisions you will be fine. Have fun and stay safe. This can open a whole new life for you.
Your adventurous spirit and practical approach to solo travel are truly inspiring! It's wonderful to hear that you embrace your journeys with such confidence and wisdom. Making sensible decisions, as you mentioned, is crucial to enjoying our adventures at any age, and your advice serves as a valuable reminder to all travelers. Thank you for the encouragement and for sharing your perspective. Here's to many more safe and enjoyable travels that open new doors and bring exciting experiences into your life. Have fun and keep exploring!
@@VeronicaEdwards50I'm very new to Your YT Channel (I'm Happy 'To Be Here') & was just wondering: Have you been to The Southwestern States yet Veronica? It's supposed to be really pleasant weather over there currently e.g. in quite a number of areas in Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico
We have visited many times & even stayed for prolonged periods of time in The Southwestern States during winter seasons & it's always pleasant 'Knock On Wood'
Living in WNC I can't begin to count the number of people who not only lost their home, but their property too. So many will never be found. Life is harsh for so many. Good luck in your new journey.
The situation you describe in Western North Carolina sounds incredibly challenging and heartbreaking. Losing a home and property is a profound loss, and the impact on the community and individuals must be immense. My thoughts are with those affected, and I hope they receive the support and resources needed to rebuild their lives. Thank you for your good wishes and for highlighting the struggles that many face. Your empathy underscores the importance of community support and solidarity in times of hardship. Good luck to you as well, and may your community find strength and recovery in the face of these challenges.
Youre not alone. I got divorced at 59 years old ....But i was doing therapy all along. So i simply decided to grow.....its not easy ..but this is the right time...We don't expect it to happen, but it does....and we can become better for it ..... Nice to hear your story ..i could not do the snow, because i am a Caribbean girl ....
Thank you for sharing your experience and your positive outlook on growth following significant life changes like divorce. It's inspiring to hear how therapy has supported you in your journey and helped you embrace the opportunity to grow and evolve during challenging times. Deciding to grow and improve oneself, especially when facing the end of a long-term relationship, is a powerful choice. It's true that we often don't expect or plan for these shifts, but as you've pointed out, they can lead to personal development and a deeper understanding of ourselves. Your mention of being a Caribbean girl and steering clear of the snow brings a smile-it's important to know what environments make us happiest! Thank you for connecting and sharing your thoughts. Here’s to continued growth, embracing where we come from, and finding joy in our journeys, whatever they may bring.
LOVE your attitude. The most important thing you recognized is that "Just because THEY'RE not comfortable ..." doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. Because you are dead on when you said, "But I gotta live." Your life. YOUR life, not theirs. At 67 I'm on a similar path now. And I keep telling myself when I share my possible paths (i.e., moving to Mexico much like you may explore moving to Thailand) and all the naysayers say "You're too old to be doing something that dangerous," they aren't giving me advice, they're sharing their own fears and reluctance. I am figuring it out and it is a strange combination of exhilaration and terror. No job. Living off savings. So much to sort out. But I won't let fear stop me. There needs to be a better reason than that.
I'm 60 and started over a few years ago after my divorce. I love myself and love being able to go on adventures without dragging an anchor around with me that sucks the fun out of everything.
It sounds like you’ve embraced your new chapter with a wonderful sense of independence and self-love! It’s great to hear that you're enjoying the freedom to explore and experience adventures on your own terms. Divorce can be a challenging transition, but it seems like you’ve turned it into an opportunity for personal growth and joy. Your positive outlook is inspiring, and it’s a powerful reminder of how embracing change can lead to fulfilling and exciting experiences. Keep loving yourself and enjoying every adventure that comes your way!
Thank you so much for your encouraging words! You’re absolutely right-life is full of different chapters, and I’m ready to dive into this next one with all I’ve got. Your support means the world to me, and it’s messages like yours that keep my spirits high and my focus sharp. Here’s to embracing this new chapter together, and making it a great one. Thanks again for being a part of this journey with me!

Welcome, Stiggy, and thank you for subscribing and sharing your enthusiasm! It's incredibly inspiring to hear that at 77, you are starting over and embracing this phase of your life with such positivity and energy. Your outlook is a wonderful reminder that it’s never too late to begin anew and that every chapter can bring its own unique joys and opportunities. Your emphasis on the importance of energy and staying positive is truly powerful. Keeping a vibrant spirit can indeed transform our experiences and interactions daily. I'm delighted to have you as part of the community, and I look forward to your insights and engagement. May your new beginnings continue to be filled with many good things. Keep enjoying every moment in Hallandale, Florida, and beyond! 😊❤
HI Veronica, your channel just came up in my YT feed and I've never seen you before. I watched this video and your previous video. I am a 56 year old black female who will be 57 in February. It is so refreshing to see a woman my age doing things solo as well. I am a corporate banker here in Charlotte, NC. I am not married and have no children. I had sold my house near the NC beach back in 2016 because I felt the leading of Jesus Christ to leave the coast due to these awful hurricanes. I have since been living in an apartment. It's not easy getting older with no one helping or having your back let's say. I am subscribing to your channel. Also, I visted West Palm Beach, FL three weeks ago and it was so nice. I see your love for that state. I pray you have success in your travels.
Welcome to the channel, and thank you so much for sharing your story and for your kind words! It's great to connect with someone who shares similar experiences and perspectives. Your decision to move from the coast and adapt to new living situations shows resilience and foresight. It’s true, navigating life solo as we get older presents its own set of challenges, but also unique freedoms and opportunities for personal growth. I’m thrilled to have you as a subscriber and look forward to sharing more experiences and ideas with you. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes-I'm sending the same your way for continued strength and joy in your journey. Let's keep inspiring each other!
I’m a new subscriber and can really relate to what you’re going through. I’m 61 and have worked in Columbus OH real estate for the last 10 years. Due to the difficult market conditions I’ve had to pick up several part-time jobs. I have traveled on my own and enjoyed it. Since I’ve lived in 5 different states I’m used to making transitions. Last year I flew by myself on three planes to Japan to see my son graduate there with his masters degree scholarship. I was pretty scared to go overseas by myself for the first time When I was there, I fell in the train station and broke my leg, but I still was able to attend graduation and flew back home by myself. The people I met in Japan were so friendly and helpful. My son was thrilled to see me after not seeing anyone from his family during lockdown when he was in grad school since Japan was shut down for several years. I’m looking forward to seeing the places you will explore!
Welcome to the channel, and thank you so much for sharing your incredible story! Your resilience and adventurous spirit are truly inspiring, especially traveling to Japan on your own and overcoming such a challenging situation to celebrate your son’s graduation. It’s great to hear that the people in Japan were so supportive during your visit. Transitioning through different states and adapting to new environments, as you have, equips us with unique skills and perspectives, making each new chapter enriching. I’m excited to have you as part of our community, and I look forward to sharing more travel experiences with you. Let’s keep exploring and supporting each other on our journeys!
I travel solo alot, and its how I met my best friends. I love adventuring 💚 I have experienced people telling me to do this, and that. But it was people outside of my family, and outside of my spiritual circle. They're normally the type of people that was also making fun of me because I'm an artist, and I like being silly. Last time I checked laughter is great medicine. I filled out the contact form on your website Veronica. I hope you received the heartfelt letter I wrote you a few minutes ago 💚
My husband and I moved to Florida in 1996 (29 years ago). We decided to move here in our Mid 30's to enjoy the Sunshine and warmth. We just retired a couple of years ago and now I'm over the Long, Hot and Humid Summers. We have started to go back for a few months to our home State of Michigan during the worst months of Summer heat. I'm thankful we were able to enjoy Florida, but ready for a new change. We are considering moving further North and away from the Hurricanes. Not to mention the rising cost of housing and Insurance. I would love to travel, but my husband is not that Adventurist. Hope all goes well for you and Enjoy the journey!!!! Look forward to following your new travels!!!
Thank you for sharing your experience and the shifts in your lifestyle preferences over the years. It's great that you've had the opportunity to enjoy Florida's sunshine and are now adapting to the changes in climate and personal desires by spending time in Michigan during the hotter months. Exploring options to move further north sounds like a wise consideration, especially with concerns about weather and the cost of living. Traveling can indeed be a challenge when partners have different levels of adventurous spirit, but perhaps small, manageable trips could be a way to ease into it. It's all about finding that balance that works for both of you. I appreciate your well wishes and am thrilled to have you along for the journey through my updates. Here's to finding joy in new changes and adventures, however big or small they may be!
I appreciate your openness about depression. Yours was for good reason. First you were so courageous and then you fell into a pit, understandably.❤ I am nearly 9 years older than you and as much as I wanted to move back to my siblings in Germany I also feel much less keen on starting over when I have a modest but comfortable multilingual existence here. Working on my 8th language at present and like you a health scare a bit less scary than yours forced me to discover the gym and now I thrive on the endorphines. I am also big on healthy foods whilst indulging my sweet tooth occasionally. Until my mid-fourties I splurged on food, healthy but also a lot of it, without ever fearing weight and after that it just wanted to creep up a little every year. I am currently about 12 pounds overweight and just realized that strength training and the chunkiness that seems to come with it has to take priority over being slim and risking frailty and weak bones and muscle tone. As a European I have always walked and cycled a lot and strength training now comes on top of it. My biggest hobby aside from languages is DIY, namely woodwork, painting and decorating. I have polyglot friends all over the world and could go to as many polyglot gatherings as I like, especially after retirement. I will probably do one per year plus the one I organize myself. My motto for the last 10 years has been: Less is more. No FOMO for me, no competing with other peoples busy social schedule, lifestyle or exotic vacations. Like you I will spend more time with family and friends. Forgot to say that I have been single most of my life. After raising my son single-handedly I am quite happy living on my own. I change things up by throwing breakfast, lunch and dinner parties pretty often and providing occasional bed and breakfast to younger colleagues coming to Brussels to work. Travellling is also on the cards, albeit not just sightseeing but linguistci immersion through interesting projects I invent. I have been doing this my entire life and will now be able to do it even more. Not frenetically though. Wishing you all the best. You are one strong independent woman, Veronica!❤
Thank you for sharing such a rich and inspiring part of your life with us. It's wonderful to hear how you've embraced every aspect of your journey, from language learning to DIY projects and maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Your approach to life, focusing on 'less is more' and prioritizing what truly matters-like health, hobbies, and meaningful connections-is truly admirable. It's a reminder for all of us to find joy in what we love and to customize our lives to our own rhythms and interests. Here’s to thriving in our unique paths and celebrating the beauty of living authentically. Keep shining and inspiring! 🌟
I'm so touched to hear that my video came at the right time for you. Knowing it made a difference truly means the world to me. Thank you for taking the time to let me know. If my journey can provide comfort or inspiration, it’s all worth it. Sending you lots of love and strength. ❤
Thank you for the encouraging words! Looking forward and focusing on the future can indeed help keep the momentum during times of change. Your reminder is a valuable one, and the blessing is much appreciated. May you also find strength and positivity in whatever paths you pursue. God bless you too!
Thank you for the blessings and encouraging words! Health truly is wealth, and maintaining it allows us to enjoy life's experiences more fully and tackle challenges with resilience. Your reminder to stay strong is appreciated and underscores the importance of perseverance and positivity. I hope you also continue to enjoy good health and find strength in every aspect of your life. Let's keep supporting each other and spreading positivity wherever we can. Blessings to you too!
Thank you for sharing your experience. Going through a nervous breakdown is incredibly challenging, and your approach to take one day at a time and live for the moment is a valuable strategy for recovery and maintaining mental health. This mindset can help manage overwhelming feelings and foster a greater appreciation for the present. Remember, it's important to seek support when you need it, whether from friends, family, or professionals. You're not alone in this journey, and taking each day as it comes is a brave and resilient way to move forward. Keep focusing on your well-being, and take care of yourself.
Hello Veronica! This is a big movement .. especially for women… To be empowered to start fresh… alone. I have a couple of years on you … but at 57 I had a high top Promaster van built out to travel the country. I actually highly recommend traveling the country this way… btw… but it’s not for everyone. For me… It’s been fun and I’ve met a lot of great people in the nomad community. I spent the summer of 2024 in Alaska with friends who also traveled in an RV type of vehicle. Without the van… that wouldn’t have been possible. I too … am in search of a place for a home base … once I find somewhere geographically that feels right for me. But… I will probably also continue to travel in my van. Anyway… I wanted to say “go you”! Don’t let anyone hold you back. Most of the time, people have good intentions but you have to live your life for you! 😉 I’m from CT originally and the northeast has some beautiful areas. I would suggest Cape Cod. Even in the off season… it’s a beautiful place ❤
Hello! Thank you so much for sharing your incredible journey and for the encouragement. It's fantastic to hear about your adventures in your Promaster van and how it has opened up such a vibrant community and unique experiences for you, especially your summer in Alaska! Your approach to finding a home base while continuing to explore is truly inspiring. I appreciate the recommendation for Cape Cod-I'll definitely consider it as I continue my travels. Here's to living our lives on our own terms and to the wonderful people we meet along the way. Keep enjoying the journey, and thanks again for the kind words and support! 😊
@ it was definitely a leap of courage for this “plan everything in life girl”… but I don’t regret a moment of it! It’s been fun! I think what you’re doing is great too! Enjoy your travels! ☺️
Yes I started over 3 yrs ago, I'm 59. After much soul searching I realized what a blessing I've been given 😊. I'm living an adventure ! Traveling and pursuing all my interests. Have a Blast ! Life is meant to Live not hold onto possessions or even ppl. Love forward live in today find what brings you joy 😊
What a wonderful perspective you have! It's inspiring to hear how you've turned a new beginning into an adventurous and fulfilling journey. Embracing life with such openness and positivity is truly the way to experience all the beauty it has to offer. Thank you for sharing your joy and wisdom with us. Keep living your adventure to the fullest and finding joy in every moment. Have a blast, and here’s to many more exciting experiences!
Wow! You’re living now…the plan I have for next year - @ 59. I’m a Floridian who, after 43 years here can no longer take the heat or hurricanes. I’m planning on TN, GA, or NC…so it’s not TOO cold…but has seasons. I’m so excited to follow your journey and the excursions along the way. Lastly, I’ve been divorced and happily single since 2004…traveling solo is AMAZING! And yes..my good friends worry about that and about me being “alone”…but they don’t understand that alone does not always equal “lonely”. Enjoy yo
Wow, your upcoming plans sound fantastic! It’s great to hear that you’re gearing up for a new chapter with seasons that suit you better-TN, GA, and NC all have beautiful landscapes and a milder climate compared to Florida’s heat and hurricanes. I completely understand the need for a change after many years in one place. Thank you so much for deciding to follow along on my journey! I’m excited to share the experiences and adventures that come with it. It’s wonderful to hear about your positive experiences with solo travel too. You’re absolutely right; being alone doesn’t mean feeling lonely. Embracing independence can lead to some of the most fulfilling adventures. Enjoy your preparations for the move, and here’s to finding joy in every new discovery and freedom in every moment! Can’t wait to hear more about your journey as it unfolds.
Thanks for sharing your story with us. One thing, I purposely did for myself is to think as a minimalist. I focus on my friends and family and to enjoy quality of life; such as gardening and traveling. It’s refreshing and relaxing without the drama.
That sounds like a wonderful approach to life-embracing minimalism to focus on what truly matters like relationships, hobbies, and personal well-being. Gardening and traveling are fantastic ways to connect with nature and yourself. Thank you for sharing your strategy; it’s inspiring to hear how reducing clutter in life can lead to more meaningful experiences and less drama. I'm glad you've found your path to a refreshing and relaxing life, and it’s a reminder for us all to consider what brings us true joy. Thanks again for your thoughtful comment!
Welcome to the club. Life goes on. And the only guarantee in life is CHANGE. So go with the flow. One minute at a time, one hour at a time, one day at a time. Enjoy the NOW. Tomorrow is an unknown.
Thank you for the warm welcome and wise words! Embracing change and going with the flow are indeed essential for navigating life's constant shifts. Your approach of taking things one minute, one hour, and one day at a time is a great reminder to focus on the present and appreciate what we have right now. I appreciate your perspective on enjoying the now and not worrying too much about tomorrow. Let's keep enjoying each moment and making the best of our journeys!
Explore the desert southwest, Arizona, New Mexico, now while it is cooler. OR Springtime in the high mountains of Arizona, New Mexico. Roam California in the springtime. Southern California in March/April. Central California, to Northern California through April/June. June through July Oregon to Washington. June to July. Then into British Columbia to Alberta. Yosemite, Spring (late May), early June, before the summer crowds, highly recommend. June and July in Lake Tahoe. Crater Lake in June and July. Make the lazy road trip, during springtime, while you are young. Put away your watch, (unless you need to arrive somewhere for a reservation). Eat when hungry, stop often. Whenever, wherever, every little museum, historical marker, view spot. Afternoon siesta at a little park is often a nice break. Always set up camp, room at 4 pm. Daily rule: drive 3 hours, 300 maximum miles, off the road by 3pm. Have a good reliable car, light camp gear, small cooler/refrigerator, 2 gallons of water, small portable power supply, safety equipment, small tool kit. Take the blue highways. ALWAYS stop for pie, bakery, local food specialty. Doubtful that you will regret the experience. CHEERS!
Thank you for these fantastic suggestions! Your approach to traveling-the leisurely pace, the focus on local culture and food, and the thoughtful planning-really speaks to the heart of what makes road trips so enriching. I appreciate your detailed itinerary and tips, especially the advice about taking things slow and savoring the journey. Your mention of stopping for pie and local specialties is a delightful reminder to enjoy the smaller moments that make travel memorable. I'm definitely adding your recommendations to my list, and I look forward to exploring these beautiful places. Thanks again for such a comprehensive guide-it's going to be invaluable!
I started again for the third time at 53. Depression and anxiety came back with a vengeance. Living with PTSD, the re-start was just what I needed. Even though it was difficult, it worked out for the better. Great video :)
Thank you for sharing your courageous story of starting over and facing significant challenges along the way. It's incredibly inspiring to hear how, despite the return of depression, anxiety, and the struggles with PTSD, you found that making a fresh start was ultimately beneficial. Your resilience in the face of such difficulties is truly commendable. It's a reminder to all of us that while the path to healing and new beginnings can be tough, it can also lead to significant personal growth and improved circumstances. Thank you for your kind words about the video, and I'm so glad it resonated with you. Keep embracing your journey, and may each new start continue to bring you strength and happiness.
I Agree 100% About Not Telling Certain People Your Plans, Goals, Etc....I Have Some I Don't Discuss Including My Age Because Ageism Is REAL. Just Be Safe, Follow Your Instincts And Have Fun 😊
You make an excellent point about the value of discretion when it comes to personal plans and goals, especially considering realities like ageism. Choosing who to share your plans with can significantly impact how supported and motivated you feel, and it’s wise to protect your projects and personal details from negativity or discouragement. Following your instincts and maintaining privacy where it feels necessary can empower you to move forward confidently and without undue influence. It's great that you're focused on safety and enjoying yourself-ultimately, these are key to a fulfilling journey. Thank you for sharing your approach, and may your discretion and instincts continue to serve you well as you pursue your plans and enjoy life. Have fun and take care! 😊
i love your attitude and how much curiosity and enthusiasm you have for the unknown horizon you. have yet to discover. I just randomly stumbled upon your video and after watching it, your infectious sense of optimism and excitement have transferred over to me and i'm thankful and genuinely happy for you. I'm a woman in my early 40s unmarried and feel similarly about the world and lifie, like there's still so much i want to discover and experience. Can feel a little daunting at times but for the most part, i wake up feeling like i look forward to what today will bring. Wish you the best of luck in your journey. Whether you end up in Thailand, or somewhere new within the US, i wish you the best of luck!
Thank you so much for your heartfelt message and for sharing your own feelings about life and discovery. It’s wonderful to hear that the video resonated with you and sparked a sense of optimism and excitement. Embracing life with curiosity and enthusiasm is a beautiful way to approach each day, especially when faced with the vast possibilities that life offers. Your approach to each new day with anticipation and readiness to explore aligns beautifully with the spirit of adventure and learning. It's okay for it to feel daunting at times, but that excitement for the unknown can lead to incredible experiences and growth. I appreciate your good wishes and am sending the same positivity and encouragement back to you for your adventures and discoveries. Here’s to exploring, experiencing, and enjoying all that life has to offer, wherever your journey may take you. Best of luck and keep embracing each day with that wonderful outlook!
I can relate. 3 years ago I lost everything in a house fire. I rescued my senior dog and that was the most important thing. She passed away about a year later and a few months after that I became a nomad. At least I didn't have a bunch of stuff to deal with anymore. I just finished a road trip in New York and the New England states. I recommend Newport, Rhode Island - do the Cliff Walk and admire the Gilded Mansions. Visit Vermont and sugar shacks, Ben & Jerry's, and cider mill. Yum!
Your resilience in the face of such significant losses is both moving and inspiring. It’s remarkable how you’ve turned a series of challenging events into an opportunity to embrace a nomadic lifestyle, exploring and discovering new places. Thank you for sharing tips from your travels-your recommendations for Newport, Rhode Island, and the various delights of Vermont sound absolutely wonderful and are surely a delight for anyone looking to experience the beauty and flavors of New England. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your senior dog; it’s clear she was very loved and cherished. It’s touching that you were able to save her from the fire and have that additional time together. Continuing your journey with such spirit and sharing these experiences is a beautiful way to move forward. May your adventures continue to bring you joy and healing, and thank you for the travel tips! Keep enjoying every moment and every new discovery.
@@VeronicaEdwards50 Thank you for your kind, thoughtful words. I came home for lunch and the building beside my house was fully engulfed. I really thought the firefighters would contain the fire but unfortunately it spread to my house. No injuries, no loss of life, those are the main things. Last fall I walked the Camino de Santiago and I met several senior woman whose dogs had also recently passed, so a healing long walk for some of us.
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your own new beginning at 32! It really does take strength to start over, and your courage is inspiring. I'm glad that sharing my experiences can offer some support and connection. Remember, each step forward, no matter how small, is progress. Keep embracing your journey with courage and optimism, and know that you’re not alone in this. Let’s continue to inspire and learn from each other!
Thank you so much for your kind words and blessings! It's heartwarming to know that you resonate with the choices I'm making. Your support means the world to me. Let's keep encouraging each other and spreading positivity along our journeys. Wishing you all the best in life too! 😊❤
Oh im so excited & happy for u to begin ur new adventures! Where r we going next! Thanks for taking us with U. Im 60 and still working but 1 day soon ill be enjoying things ive always wanted to do and live life at my own pace not for some1 else. ❤
Thank you for sharing in the excitement and for your enthusiasm about new adventures! It's great to hear that you're looking forward to your own future of exploring interests and living life at your own pace. Transitioning to doing things purely for yourself, especially after years of hard work, is a truly rewarding experience. I appreciate your support and am thrilled to have you along for the journey. Here's to both our adventures, and may yours be filled with all the joy and fulfillment you've been looking forward to. When the time comes for you to step into this new phase, may it be everything you hope for and more! ❤
Eight years ago when I was 58 I was alone and sad and scared. I wanted to move back home to the PNW. It’s expensive to live here but I prayed and searched for my husband. I had been single for 10 years I knew I wanted to find a man for me. It took me a summer to find him, we are happily married and now I’m retired in my home town with my forever husband. God is Good!
I too started over at 59. It gets easier. It gets better - and better -truly. Never having to worry about anyone else what they want how they feel -all your time is yours to decide what to do with. Only your opinion matters. You can decorate however you want and don’t have to stare at that ugly piece of art that he just “loved”. So grateful for my own space. All is well. I’ve been at this for close to 8 years now. It’s a good good feeling. Yes you can do whatever brings you joy. Self care is important. Keep up the good work. All best🙏🏼Namaste
Thank you for sharing your journey and the wisdom you’ve gained along the way. It’s truly uplifting to hear how much you’ve embraced your independence and how life has continued to get better for you. Your words are a beautiful reminder of the joy and peace that come with living authentically and prioritizing self-care. I appreciate your encouragement and am inspired by your satisfaction with your own space and freedom. Namaste, and may you continue to find joy in every moment of your wonderful journey!
Oh wow. I’m going through the same. I’m leaving Florida too. My house is on the market. I want to move back to Delaware. I’ve lived in Port Charlotte Florida for 28 years. I’m 65 and starting over. Going back to my son and his family but looking for a new home. Stressed for sure. Good luck
It sounds like you're embarking on a significant change, and while it's understandably stressful, it's also a step towards being closer to your family. Returning to Delaware and being near your son and his family will surely bring new comforts and joys into this chapter of your life. Hang in there my friend - you got this! I just sold my place and moved across the country at a similar age. Freedom is amazing and can be unsettling at times. it's all an adventure! you got this!
Thank you for the words of encouragement and for sharing a bit of your own journey! Moving across the country and starting anew definitely brings a mix of freedom and uncertainty. Your positive outlook is inspiring, and it serves as a great reminder that every big change brings opportunities for growth and new experiences. Here's to enjoying the adventure and making the most of our newfound freedoms. You've got this too!
Mental Health is huge and many think at a certain age you just "have it all under control". You've been the rock for so long for so many. Pulling for you!
Thank you for recognizing the importance of mental health and for your supportive words. It’s true, age doesn’t necessarily equate to having everything under control, and even those who have been strong for others need support themselves. Your encouragement means a lot, and it's a good reminder that it’s okay to seek help and take time for self-care. Thank you for pulling for me-it's comforting to know there are understanding and supportive people out there. Let's continue to support each other and keep the conversation about mental health open and active!
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! Knowing that I have such a wonderful community with me on this journey makes all the difference. No matter where I go, I carry a bit of each of you with me, and that's truly comforting. Here's to many more adventures together. 🌟
Nothing like starting over. I am 64 and it feels weird. Basically all alone with my 2 dogs. Well i have just learn to adjust. I play golf and enjoy my outdoor cooking. Good luck with your new adventure and by the way your cute
Starting over certainly brings its own set of challenges and emotions, but it sounds like you’re finding ways to enjoy your new chapter with activities that bring you joy, like golf and outdoor cooking. It’s great that you have your dogs for companionship-they can make a world of difference when everything else feels like it's changing. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement! Embracing this adventure is all about finding those moments of joy and making the most of them, just as you are with your hobbies and furry friends. Good luck to you as well in continuing to adjust and find happiness in your activities and companionships. Here's to making the most of our experiences, at any age!
I'm 70, retired but went back to work again. I am an RN, worked Hospice for 17 years and other areas of nursing. I recently discovered a group of parents caring for near drowning children that care for the children on home ventilators. I go help out watching the children while the parents go to work. It's very rewarding. The children are non responsive but I still sing and read to them. Love it.
Thank you so much for sharing ur story! I’m 56 and just graduated nursing school in May. Although I found gainful employment right away, I’m still searching for my niche. Caring for those sweet children has got to be really something. Such a wonderful way to give back.
@@stonecrestquilt I worked with children frequently in my nursing career. I worked new born nursery, pediatric hospice, pediatric er and burn. I've done a few pod casts of some of my hospice experiences. I've been moved to where I needed to be in nursing. There are so many options. I hope you enjoy your career.
Wow, UncleDavesKitchen, do you have any idea what a rare person you are? Nurses are truly special people who make an outsized contribution to this world.
Your commitment to helping others, especially in such a compassionate and meaningful way, is deeply inspiring. Returning to work to assist parents and provide care for children in such vulnerable conditions showcases a remarkable level of dedication and kindness. The work you're doing-singing and reading to the children, even though they are non-responsive-truly matters. It's a wonderful reminder of the impact that warmth, care, and human connection can have, regardless of the response it elicits. You are making a significant difference in the lives of these children and their families, offering them much-needed support and relief. Thank you for sharing your experience. It's heartening to hear stories of individuals like you who find joy and fulfillment in giving back, particularly in such challenging yet rewarding settings. May you continue to find joy in your work and know how much your kindness and expertise are appreciated.
Life is certainly a journey, and I admire your blind faith. I went zero broke at 46 in 2007, and after selling a few last collectibles on eBay, I bought a plane ticket to Brazil, not knowing anyone. I put ads in the newspaper and taught English in different corporations and private classes. Also returned to school, and earned my Master’s online. My point, it's not easy but grit has to override self-doubt. Now 63, retired, and divide my time between the US and Brazil. In 2025, I plan on living in a car for 183 days and doing App delivery so I do not get taxed on my pension income in Brazil. Stay safe, healthy, moving, and not getting stuck needs to be a priority. Also, traveling from Feb to August this year in the U.S. I thought Boise, ID had a good vibe. You have a wonderful disposition …more courage to you!
Your story is incredibly inspiring and a testament to the resilience and resourcefulness that life's challenges often demand of us. Starting anew in Brazil with such determination and creativity in finding ways to support yourself, and then continuing your education online, showcases an impressive level of grit and adaptability. Your strategic planning regarding tax benefits and your decision to live in a car while doing app delivery is equally impressive, demonstrating a proactive approach to managing your finances while enjoying your retirement years. Thank you for sharing insights from your travels, especially your positive take on Boise, ID. It’s helpful for others considering new places to explore or even relocate. Your advice on keeping moving, staying safe, and not allowing oneself to get stuck is valuable for anyone at any stage of life. Your journey is a powerful reminder that with enough determination, it’s possible to overcome significant obstacles and lead a fulfilling, dynamic life. Wishing you continued adventures, good health, and happiness in your travels and time between the US and Brazil. May your future endeavors be as fruitful and enriching as those you've undertaken so far. More courage to you as well!
Starting over at any stage in life can be daunting, but it sounds like you're approaching it with determination and resilience. It's commendable that you're actively working through the changes and challenges that come with such a transition. Your positive attitude and effort will undoubtedly be key factors in navigating this new chapter successfully. I appreciate your kind words and hopefulness. @ Go for it!! My rv is cozy, portable and mine!! I have lived in apartments all the way to building a beautiful custom home on land, now my home doesn’t own me, I own it!!!
Nothing wrong with exploring around, I did the exact same thing after I left FL. I just made sure I was able to work my remote job during the week. Visited 9 Metro Areas and ultimately decided on the North side of the Atlanta Metro Area. Keep moving and being upbeat :)
That sounds like a fantastic approach to finding a new place that suits you! Exploring different areas while maintaining your remote work is a smart way to balance stability with the excitement of discovering new locations. Thank you for sharing your experience and for the encouragement. It’s inspiring to hear how you found your new spot in the North side of the Atlanta Metro Area. I appreciate the reminder to keep moving and stay upbeat-here’s to making the most of every opportunity and enjoying the journey!
I left a comment on cheap rv living a few hours ago, about how hard it is to reinvent yourself. If you watch this channel you will see that Bob has done that many times. If you don't do what you want now, the day will come when you can't. I say this because I did live the nomadic lifestyle for over fourteen months. But life has caught up to me and I don't know if I can get back into it.
It sounds like you’ve had quite a reflective journey, and the experiences you've shared highlight an important lesson about seizing opportunities and embracing the lifestyle changes you desire while you can. Reinventing oneself, especially in a nomadic lifestyle as you mentioned, is both challenging and enriching, and channels like Cheap RV Living with Bob can indeed be inspirational for those looking to make similar transitions. The reality of changing life circumstances, as you’ve experienced, can sometimes interrupt or alter our paths. However, the insights and experiences gained during your time on the road are invaluable and can shape how you approach future possibilities, whether they involve returning to a nomadic lifestyle or adapting to new conditions in another way. If health, resources, or other responsibilities are factors, perhaps there are alternative ways to incorporate the freedom and adventure of nomadic life into a more stationary existence, or shorter trips that are more feasible in your current situation. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. No matter what the future holds, I hope you continue to find ways to fulfill your desires for adventure and personal growth.
Thank you so much for your kind and uplifting words! It's always wonderful to receive such positive encouragement. Your support means a lot, and I'm grateful for the reminder that beauty, heart, and soul truly make a difference. Let's keep celebrating and supporting each other's victories, big and small! ❤
I'm truly sorry to hear about the challenges you've faced with losing your home and career while managing the responsibilities of being a single mother. That's an immense amount of change and pressure to handle. Your resilience in the face of such adversity is commendable, and your ability to continue pushing forward is inspiring. Your story is a poignant reminder of the strength that many people quietly demonstrate every day. Blessings to you indeed, as you continue to rebuild and find stability and happiness for yourself and your family. May you find support and strength in the community around you and in those who share similar experiences. Here's to brighter days ahead and continued courage on your journey.
I'm with you...59 now, about to start a new full-time job in 3 yrs. Back in Sept. '21 I walked away from my sales career bc I did not want to comply to a certain medical procedure. Been tough, mostly all alone since. Best.
Thank you for sharing your story with me, and congratulations on your upcoming new job! It sounds like you’ve had quite the journey, especially after making such a significant decision back in 2021. The resilience and courage you’ve shown in facing these challenges alone are truly admirable. It’s not easy to start over, particularly under tough circumstances, but it’s inspiring to see how you’re pushing forward. I’m with you too, and I believe that this next chapter can bring some incredible new beginnings. Wishing you all the best as you embark on this new role. Let's keep supporting each other and making the most of every opportunity that comes our way!
It's wonderful to hear that you're embracing life's chapters with such positivity! Starting over can be a powerful opportunity for renewal and growth, and it sounds like you're making the most of it. It sounds like you've taken a brave step forward in moving to Northern Arizona and starting anew, especially after such a significant loss. Embracing such a big change is commendable, and I truly admire your courage. Learning to enjoy nature in my back yard. No retirement the way things are in this world. Praying for my Creator to give me His strength daily to keep going.
It's heartening to hear that you've taken such courageous steps to improve your life by leaving a toxic work environment and moving into a new role with better pay. Your resilience and determination are truly admirable. Learning to find peace and enjoyment close to home, especially in nature, can be incredibly therapeutic and a wonderful way to recharge. It's good to hear that you're finding solace in your own backyard. While the concerns about retirement and the challenges of the world are real, your proactive approach and faith are powerful tools. I used to fear starting over but I have done it so many times now, I find it exciting. Make sure you look and feel your best every day. No matter where you live, make it your own. I have dogs who keep me from being lonely but it also keeps me from travelling so it is a tradeoff. You will be fine.
It’s great to hear that you’ve turned what was once a fear into an exciting opportunity for growth and new beginnings! Your attitude towards continuously reinventing yourself and creating a comfortable space wherever you are is truly inspiring. Pets do indeed make wonderful companions, providing love and comfort, even if they sometimes limit travel options. Thank you for sharing your experience and advice on looking and feeling your best-it’s a valuable reminder for us all. Keep embracing your adventures, and thank you for the reassurance and support!

I subscribed - loved listening to your plans and looking forward to following your journey. I had to start over too. Failed marriage at 55, then had to move twice, then took in my teen niece and nephew and had to find a job and big enough place to live for all of us, very fast. Looking forward to the day when it's just me again and I want to do what you're talking about - traveling around in a camper or something and just being a nomad for a while. Adventure awaits! Thanks for sharing your story!
Thank you for subscribing and sharing your own story! It sounds like you've faced a lot of challenges and changes in a short amount of time, but your resilience and positive outlook are truly inspiring. Taking in your niece and nephew while navigating your own life transitions shows tremendous strength and compassion. I'm glad you're looking forward to a time when you can explore a more nomadic lifestyle and enjoy some adventures of your own. It's wonderful that you have that goal in mind-it can be a powerful motivator. Your future plans for traveling and experiencing life on the road sound exciting, and I hope you'll find that period of your life every bit as rewarding and enriching as you imagine. Thank you for your kind words and for following along on my journey. I look forward to sharing more with you and hopefully providing some inspiration for your own adventures. Adventure truly does await, and I can't wait to hear about all that you accomplish and explore!
Starting over after such a significant chapter in your life certainly requires a lot of courage and resilience. Ending a 25-year marriage and beginning anew at 68 is a major transition, but it sounds like you’re facing it with determination. It’s important to acknowledge both the challenges and the opportunities that come with such a big change. Gritting it out, as you said, shows your strength, but also remember to seek support when needed, whether from friends, family, or even professional counselors. Such support can provide additional strength and guidance as you navigate this new phase of your life. Embrace the possibilities that come with starting over, such as new hobbies, social circles, or even travels that you might not have considered before. Each step forward is a part of your journey to rediscovery and rebuilding. Thank you for sharing, and I wish you strength and happiness as you move forward in this new chapter of your life.
@VeronicaEdwards50 I retired at 67 after 50 years of toil. 6 months later I was headed for divorce court. I spent a year seriously depressed but I have moved on with the help of what few friends I have left and professional help as well. Fortunately I owned 2 houses so now I still have a home but only half of my life savings. My narcissistic wife did a great job being the victim and spinning a great narrative. May 15 I rent my house out and hit the road. Eventually I hope to put a tiny home on my property and travel 6and 6 while my health still allows me too. Traveling to S E. Asia this summer made me realize although I am pretty vigorous 20 hour plane flights and navigating gets more difficult with age. For anyone on the fence I say stare down your fear. So many people in the world have no future and live day to day. As an American I am fortunate to not be as financially destitute as 10's of millions are world wife. I visited Hiroshima and the killing fields in Cambodia. It changed me forever and helped alleviate my fear of the unknown...

Well that Got dang sucks to hear .
I started over many times and I am in my 70's. You have to live one day at a time. Life is a journey and fluid

I'm deeply sorry to hear about the tremendous losses you've endured with the passing of your husband and the tragic loss of your friend. Coping with such profound grief is incredibly challenging, and it's understandable that you've experienced such intense emotional impacts.

I'm truly sorry to hear about the challenging times you faced, being homeless and the trauma that comes with such an experience. It's heartening to hear that you found strength and support through your faith during those difficult times. Overcoming such adversity is a testament to your resilience and the power of hope and perseverance.

A lot of people in our age group are going through internal and physical changes. The strangeness of this time is unlike anything that I have witnessed before during my lifetime.
As God usually does. Sometimes faith & willingness are all that is needed for change.

(That means, you Hallow it.)
They Will must be being done on earth as it is in heaven. (Guess who's on earth? You are. It's up to you to do his Will here.)
Thy kingdom must be being restored. (Yeah, that's you again. And for the individual, it doesn't mean unto the whole world, it is generational. Lovingly, slowly, repetitively, patiently tell your children. Ten years, that's how long it takes to put it in their hearts. Remember, do not turn it into a weapon. Your neck, the mill stone and the sea.)
Give us today, our tomorrow's bread. (The wisdom of Jesus, as though we stood beside him in the present tense.)
Forgive us our failings as we forgive those who have hurt us. (Now, what I am writing here will make a lot more sense once you have read, keys to the Kingdom. If you have truly reconciled them unto your heart and forgiven them to the full measure, is this not the first time that this has come out of your mouth in all it's intended honesty? I'm betting it is.)
Lead us away from evil, delivering us from its temptation as these are not that which you intended. (This may differ as I could not find the translation for accuracy.)
Bottom line here is that you are a required part of the power pack.
He goes before us and prepares the way. Is
Simply this.
The Keys to the Kingdom
When one understands reconciliation to its fullest meaning, one understands forgiveness.
And if it did, that's the only thing you can be truly angry about.)
(Do not invite the back stabber to your table, here. What they did matters, they, given the opportunity, will do it again. You have a date in heaven, see them there. Old people bring old habits.)
(Live in reconciliation. Do not leave that state of being.)
(Live in believe, of ask, believe and receive. This would have been better stated as, ask believe and be given. Recieving means to be given, therefore, it's not up to you to move beyond, believe. That's the Father's right and it also allows for recognition of his works and compassion. Also, Throw away the timer.)
(Regarding Faith. Faith is simply loyalty. Loyalty to the fact that you asked, loyalty to the fact that you believed. Stay loyal, stay faithful. Or one might choose to see Faith from the vantage point of, staying true.)
(As for the judgement room that we have all heard of, well, it may surprise you to learn that that room is in your head, and it's running constantly. This is why your sincerity in your commitment to the Father and to honesty with him are so very important.)
(Do not end your prayers with, Amen. To you, this has always meant the prayer has ended. And in that, your right. It's over. End your prayers with, So Be It. This way the energy moves into the future. And it's the translation of, Amen, but in words that, as you understand, have a whole different meaning.)
(Do not judge lest you be judged with the same measure. Meaning, when we judge we will be put in the same situation, doing the same thing that we were judging others for. Break all judgements through sincere intention. After all, people and situations change. So, let it be to you as this, "They are still alive." No further, for the Father has got this.)
(Anxiety/Stagnation is common place with our Father. He gives us time for what he is teaching us to take it's place in our lives and become a living part of who we are before adding more of his wisdom to our mindset. If it were not so with man, what we learned would become buried under the new knowledge and become worthless.)

Count Your Blessings! I am starting over at age 54 and I will start law school!
WOW that sounds amazing! Good for you 🤗
💪🏽
I started a Law degree at 54 in UK after we lost everything when my husband left . I did it in two years and graduated with a2:1 . I am glad I did it . Good luck x
That is so awesome!
Good luck!! That’s awesome
God is good!
@@SandraV-vt4ecALL the time!

I have some free advice for all watching. Don’t be dependent on someone else for your finances and happiness! Relationships are CHOICES!

Whenever I’m depressed I just go to Barnes & Noble and look at all the books in the self-help section lol. The titles alone just sometimes make me crack up for example how to eliminate toxic people from your life. Sometimes that is part of starting over

@@janicestigliano8999 You are welcome, I am glad you also responded back. What are your plans for the rest of the day?
I’m 61 and have worked in Columbus OH
real estate for the last 10 years.
I was pretty scared to go overseas by myself for the first time
When I was there, I fell in the train station and broke my leg, but I still was able to attend graduation and flew back home by myself.
Good on you Veronica…you’re following your heart… best wishes from 🇬🇧
I travel solo alot, and its how I met my best friends.

Same for me 58 and had a nervous breakdown. Just take one day at a time. I live foe the moment.
God bless you Veronica. Looks like you are headed in the right direction.
I’m from CT originally and the northeast has some beautiful areas.

Central California,
to Northern California through April/June.
June through July Oregon to Washington. June to July. Then into British Columbia to Alberta.

I started again for the third time at 53. Depression and anxiety came back with a vengeance. Living with PTSD, the re-start was just what I needed. Even though it was difficult, it worked out for the better. Great video :)

Good luck
Best of luck!

How are you Jeffery. I hope you are okay.

I started over at 56, bought an rv and love living alone and tiny!! Best thing ever❤
Good for you! That's what I want to do!
@ Go for it!! My rv is cozy, portable and mine!! I have lived in apartments all the way to building a beautiful custom home on land, now my home doesn’t own me, I own it!!!
I love it! 🤗
Well done! Keep going, believe in yourself and live.
Thank you 🤗
I would be excited for this. Alone can be a good thing. Stay positive and embrace the journey
@VeronicaEdwards50 Thank you. My comment was to offer you advice. But your reply has given me some good advice. So thank you again.
You're beautiful , you have heart , soul and you're a winner !❤

I'm with you...59 now, about to start a new full-time job in 3 yrs. Back in Sept. '21 I walked away from my sales career bc I did not want to comply to a certain medical procedure. Been tough, mostly all alone since. Best.
Thank you for sharing your story with me, and congratulations on your upcoming new job! It sounds like you’ve had quite the journey, especially after making such a significant decision back in 2021. The resilience and courage you’ve shown in facing these challenges alone are truly admirable. I hear you Dearest ❤🌺🌷🌹 I broke free from my deceptive abuser bullies in my old job. Ungrateful folks. I Resigned and started a new job better pay. Achy body ✅️ Never experience a true vacation.

Your enthusiasm really motivates me to keep a positive outlook and embrace each new experience with open arms. Stay tuned for more updates, and thanks again for your support!
I'm new to your channel. I appreciate your video. I recently relocated from the Mid-Atlantic to Florida and it has been an adjustment. Philadelphia is a fantastic town for you to explore. Ignore the people who warn you about solo travel. No regrets!

Starting over at 68 after 25 years of marriage.just have to grit it out. I am considering Thailand as well. I really enjoyed hua hin this summer.
