Sometimes chronic running late stuff can be they are actually depressed and find it hard to get themselves moving. They can put on the 'mask' of happy once they are. So it isn't always about you. Or some who have a little OCD, You may not know that and they may not want to share. Because both these conditions can be shameful to them. I think it is important to be a friend and see if you can find out if there is a root cause, rather than just deciding people arent worth your time. Being a friend is not just about what others can bring to the table.

I do this because I don't like someone. Don't look at them don't answer them or talk to them. I was disrespected by coworker. I commented one morning, that it was really dark out. This young person starts telling me all about in winter it starts getting dark at this time..... No Shit! I commented. I did not ask a question. I don't like the way she speaks to me. How did she get this job. So young and inexperienced I had to teach her somethings before. No more kid. Never again. Some young people are so disrespectful. Or she's just STUPID! The other older lady knew what I was talking about....Sigh!

You made some very good points… being alone is not being lonely, you can be with your partner and feel very alone at times, companionship and friendship are the high points in any relationship including marriage but you don’t need marriage to have and to honor companionship.

in many ways the problem for other countries is the United States, they end up pushing ideas that ruin everything. Spain didn't owe any money to anyone, then came Zapatero , placed in by the same person who puts presidents in US, Canada, UK, and he left the country like Gavin Newsom, in debt, so much in debt, that we can never pay it back. IMF wanted a piece of the action, Germany said no, this debt is ours, no need for the IMF. I am sure China would love to pay off the debt, but Germany would never allow that. This is a game. Today everything is as backwards as the US, where Trans people are number 1 and this ideology that is purposely put in place to ruin the culture is now destroying the country. They want a revolution to kick out the president. We would have thought the same if Kamala won again. The new world order is not a good thing, even Trump looks like he is moving it, before taking office. Europe still has the Catholic Church controlling many countries but they are losing their power and soon it will be a muslim country. Who is pushing this ideology. A person from the United States.

People in the USA live in a drive by mentality. I remember when I was a child we used to visit with the neighbors. Now the neighbors all hate each other, or find a reason to hate each other.

Remember that you are worthwhile. Treat people as you wish to be treated. Mutual respect is essential. When a person is unkind, your mind and heart let you know. Life is give and take, not give or take.

I travel yearly to Mexico, France and occasionally Spain. The contrast in lifestyle is stark. Currently working toward eventual retirement in one of those places.

Your portrait of Europe might be a little too overrated.. people struggle with paying their bills, find an appart, retire with a decent amount of money. Taxes are in France the higher in Europe and most people have very low income... Yes you don't work a lot but yes you are not paid a lot .. we moved to the USA to get better opportunities. The bad part of it is not having the health care system ... Having been in both countries I made this resume that the USA is for hard workers you want to have a great quality of life much faster.

Too many US citizens only travel in the US. I suggest international tor groups like Explore or Peregrine. You will be with people from many English speaking countries. US news is ranked 55th for truth by international journalists. You'll have a much better view of what is happening in the world. One amazing trip was through ruins in Mexico, Guatemala and Belize. Clearly there was massive ancient culture in the Americas' It's such a cool mystery. You meet people like a musical archaeologist from the UK who recreates musical instruments and the music found in ancient cathedrals. The rest of the world sees the entire world as their back yard. You will be asked often by Canadians, Kiwis, Aussies, Brits... why Americans don't travel. Please don't limit yourself to the US.

No doubt, living outside the USA is much better. People live very lonely, extreme capitalism, high debt. I lived there for 3 years and I gave back the residence and came back to my dear country Colombia.

Hi. I like where you are. It looks beautiful and peaceful. A nice place to be alone. I have lived with others for years , especially when i was young. But as i have grown older i love being alone. I prefer it to having company. I'm not lonely. I'm not going to use someone to fill an emptiness in me. I'm responsible for my own happiness. 😊

This is all nice and sweet with feel good positivity. Let’s see where we are in 8 years. One thing we need to do is get off all these platforms and spend more time helping to better our communities (including me). Look at your phones and take a look at the wasted hours we spend entertaining ourselves. It’s like at the end of the Roman Empire.

Americans should worry more about the quality of their politicians and their internal affairs and less with interfering in other countries choices! If you guys want to live well, stop trying to impose your ways of life and policies to other people! Just live and let live!

My best friend is 80, and has a longtime male friend, who seems to think she must need a guy. She is having a hard time telling him she has no interest in a couple’s kind of relation, but his friendship means a lot to her. It seems it’s old men who can’t be alone.

I have great respect for the 30% of Japanese women who throw themselves into a career they love, and don’t date, marry, or have kids. Archaeology or wildlife rescue would be heaven.

The US is NOT the best country to live I. By duel citizen German nephews are moving from Fishers Indiana ( upper middle class) to Germany. It has better healthcare, better education, and is a better place to raise a family. I’d LOVE Ireland, whose news is ranked 8th for truth by international journalists vs US ranked 55th. You almost have to be a millionaire to move to Ireland now. Everyone wants to move there. If it wasn’t for my gun but husband, I’d have been out of here decades ago. I travel..and dream. Costa Rica has a 10% ex Pat population for a reason.

Our healthcare system is third world for most. We have the worst outcomes, for the highest cost. Our life expectancy is 44rth in the world. I was a respiratory therapist since 1978 ( when our healthcare was non profit and moral ). I am also an orthopedic patient since birth , crippled at 59 because I had an HMO.

I had a lot of this happen to me with people I knew in high school, it hurt at first but learned to deal with it. Good training for later in life! In fact I have gotten used to not having friends around.
