What a dream! 2005/6 Ferrari's are my favorite but I have to admit that this is truly next level awesome.. This particular spec has the rare detail that the flaps in front (both sides next to the cavallino) are in carbon. Most speciale's have them painted in white and I really do not like how that looks. In short: Superb car, should sell quick!

You weren't kidding, that is the absolute perfect spec Speciale, right down to the yellow rev counter. If I had the cash it would be gone already, at the price you're asking I think it's a fantastic deal.
I would buy it if I could afford it. Then I'd drive the ever living piss out of it and never sell it. LOL!

Hi Dan just like your thoughts on Nico Leonard’s 812 GTS breaking down in Monaco after only 3 months & Ferraris “Warranty Null & Void” comment after being told he has an aftermarket Novitec exhaust? Surely that would put anyone off getting any after market product while the cars in warranty?
In the USA they would have to be able to prove the exhaust was related to the failure, but that's not to say they can't say the warranty is void and last it on you. Then you'd have to fight it.

Dan,, that diffuser should not have heat damage. I could be that it does not have proper heat shielding on that Kline exhaust. Stock is an H pipe, and that Kline is likely an X pipe.

The diffuser is fine, it's the PPF that's feeling the heat
Dan, if you would like to re-create that sense of urgency with the pedal. I would highly recommend looking into a pedal commander. They usually have many different levels of sensitivity that can be applied but overall it will re-map the aggressiveness of throttle tipping and linearity throughout the travel. On the opposite end, you can dump down the standard throttle sensitivity as well with eco. It makes a massive difference in how the car behaves and feels. It would be perfect for a standard 458.
I'm aware of those. Frequently when they tune Ferraris, they will add some pedal sensitivity to give it that umph
I second this reco! I have a PC on my Maserati GranTurismo S that has a derivative of this engine and it makes this car come alive. I haven't driven a 458, but I understand that like the Maserati, the throttle response is way too muted for an engine that loves to rev, so the PC totally makes sense. I am a big PC fan. I also have a Pedal Commander for my McLaren, Bentley, i8, Mercedes and all my Rovers! I discovered them when building my HEMI monster years ago and still have them on my Dodge muscle cars. The best thing is that you can dial in the sensitivity and have it completely off when you don't want it! A guy here in SoCal is running it on his Hurucan and forgot to take it off of Sport+ for the valet and caused a moment of scary drama for the experienced porter!

I just got back my Maserati GTS yesterday from the shop with a 4.7L V8 derivative of this same engine. But for some reason, the Ferrari doesn’t move me. When it comes to mid-engine Supercar, I went for a McLaren.

FYI and this is a minor nitpick, but in Italian when you see the letters “ci” it’s pronounced like we say “ch”. So “Speciale” is pronounced “speh-CHA-lay” rather than “speh-shee-AH-lay”.

Uhhhhhhh, it is for sale, but this is also legitimately a car review they've never had the opportunity to feature on the channel before. And car reviews are something this channel has done periodically since it began. Honestly, by merit of selling cars, they're going to be able to create more diverse content and a wider variety of reviews and DIY videos.
