According to an official game page (www.playstation.com/en-us/games/tetris-effect-ps4/), it'll be "fully playable on either a standard display (up to 4K and 60fps on a PS4™Pro), or optionally in mind-blowing 3D on PS VR." So the VR experience would be absolutely lit af but you can always play on your good old screen too.
If you guys really love this game you should check out Lumines, Rez, and Child of Eden! Lumines is a puzzle game while Rez and Child of Eden are rail shooters, but both games use their mechanics along with music really well, it's so awesome!
The thing that impresses me the most about this is that the zone mechanic seems incredibly well thought out. Usually when you add new mechanics to the core tetris experience, its really disengenuous. But the zone mechanic seems to fit so well with tetris. The thing I like about it is that its kind of a risk versus reward kind of thing for the chance to get a great combo, and its not some kind of super move that gives you an automatic tetris or something. This game looks amazing. It feels like this is gonna be the definitive puzzle game for me.

Me too! I played it yesterday on the EGX in Berlin. Multiple times because it fascinated me so much and reactivated my long gone Tetris addiction. I absolutely recommend the VR Headset. It has a low latency and it immerses you more in the experience and the game. Can't wait for November!

When the Iron Curtain fell, Alexey sued people who made the game without a license and set up "The Tetris Company", a rights holding company similar to "The Pokemon Company". If you want to do anything with Tetris, down to putting the blocks on a shirt, everything has to go through The Tetris Company. At first they were fairly lax, allowing people to do whatever with the license as long as they were paying (see the Japanese arcade series "Tetris The Grandmaster", and spinoffs like Welltris and Tetrisphere), but fairly recently they've gone as far as to sue people making games with mechanics as simple as falling blocks (even if they aren't the shape and color as Tetris blocks, which are trademarked), and relegating incredibly strict rules and regulations on new Tetris games. Both this and Puyo Puyo Tetris are signs that The Tetris Company is softening up a bit

Perfect Clears are more powerful but they're not always successful even with an opener and you can't do them mid-game often, so you should learn TSD and TST so you're able to send more lines and score more points.

Hacienda Pharmacy in this case VR is used to further immerse the player when playing it. VR is basically screens placed like 2 cm in front of your eyes

for some reason the vocals when you move the blocks in the first level is different than from Nick Robinson's gameplay. I don't know but maybe you can change the vocals in this game or something.

Mizuguchi-san is a genius (huge fan of Lumines, Rez and Meteos). His games really do make great cases for games as art, which is on full display here.
