    Great video. i have been looking at that bumper for a while. I like the tip with the long bolt for the passenger side tab, great idea. The plate lights look good. i cant wait to see the rubicon trip video.

    I recommend VHT Roll bar and Chassis paint instead. From what I’ve seen, Steel it fads over time.

    How does the steel it black match the factory steel front bumper?

    • @FROSTBITEOFFROAD
      @FROSTBITEOFFROAD  2 года назад

      I really like the Steel-It coating, it’s a nice black color with a smooth texture. It does look good on the Jeep but it’s different than the factory bumper texture, the factory color is more flat with some texture to it. You could always have it powder coated to match if that’s important to you, thanks for watching Mark!

    I’ve been checkin out that evo bracket for a bit. Have you had anyone drive behind you to see if the plate flaps in the wind? I am worried it will flap and hit the tub but cant find any reviews on it. Thanks!

    Will the stock plastic sensors work ? Ik you upgraded the clips to work in the steel rubicon bumper.

    • @FROSTBITEOFFROAD
      @FROSTBITEOFFROAD  3 года назад +1

      You do need to purchase the specific clips for the steel bumper, the plastic ones would have to be cut out and glued to make them work. It’s been done but it’s not a super clean look and could be an issue down the road. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

    • @FROSTBITEOFFROAD
      @FROSTBITEOFFROAD  3 года назад +1

      But yes the sensors are all the same just need to swap them over.

    Hi, I have the same bumper and I’m having issues with the back up sensors. Do you have any issues with them? My jeeps telling me that they are dirty and to “wipe” them ever since install of the bumper. Thanks!

    • @FROSTBITEOFFROAD
      @FROSTBITEOFFROAD  Год назад

      I haven’t ever received an error message about the sensor’s, every now and then I get some phantom beeping. I believe it may be due to my spare tire but it’s never really bothered me. What year is your Jeep, I wonder if it’s a newer error message?

    • @jonathanandersen5640
      @jonathanandersen5640 Год назад +1

      @@FROSTBITEOFFROAD 2022. Could be. I’m thinking it’s either the spare or the sensors may not be at the correct factory angles in the Motobilt bumper? Working theories here; not sure yet. First step will be to take the spare off and see if it goes away and then adjust it up. I’ll report back. Thanks!

    • @FROSTBITEOFFROAD

    So you still have the steel rubicon bumper

  • @Arcticcat843
    @Arcticcat843 3 года назад +1

    So did you actually order your bumper using that exact link from northridge? I ask because I ordered that exact bumper 3 days ago from northridge and I'm really hoping I get the "upgraded" one with the sensor holes. I see the picture is the older one without. Hopefully I don't get one that's been sitting on the shelf for a year or something.

    • @FROSTBITEOFFROAD
      @FROSTBITEOFFROAD  3 года назад

      Yeah I ordered mine from Northridge 4x4 they are in the same state so shipping is usually really fast. They should send you the updated one they are a pretty high volume shop, let me know how you like it once it shows up 👍

    • @Arcticcat843
      @Arcticcat843 3 года назад +1

      I got my bumper and it does have the sensor holes. Phew. I was nervous. Haven't had a chance to install it yet or even paint it but it looks awesome. Very well built.
      Have you ran any steel-it painted products on salted roads in winter yet? I'm wondering how it would hold up to Michigan weather. I love the look of the finish.

    • @FROSTBITEOFFROAD
      @FROSTBITEOFFROAD  3 года назад

      @@Arcticcat843 that’s great you got the new version, they definitely are well built! They do salt the roads in Washington sometimes so we’ll see how it holds up through winter. I imagine the paint will last a long time, it’s a really hard coating and has stainless steel mixed in. Let me know how the install goes 👍

    • @Freaky61
      @Freaky61 2 года назад +1

      @@FROSTBITEOFFROAD yes I did. When I reverse the dash warning system starts flickers and the beeping starts. I contacted motorbilt but the troubleshooting advice I received did not correct the problem.

    • @FROSTBITEOFFROAD
      @FROSTBITEOFFROAD  2 года назад

      @@Freaky61 that’s interesting, do you have a low hanging spare or shackles on the bumper? Mine only phantom beeps when I back out of the garage, if I’m in a wide open parking lot it works great. Maybe try plugging the harness in again and test it in a wide open area 🤷‍♂️
