The way Thorpe Park handed the opening was nothing short of spectacular in regards to organisation, helped by great hardware. I'm genuinely gutted that it's been a rough start from Saturday onwards. To those who haven't ridden, at least you know now it WILL BE worth the wait (none of us knew before the opening day).
The fact y'all are taking the time to resolve the issue rather than rushing into re-opening Hyperia is highly commendable honestly. It shows your interest lies in our safety! Just another reason to look forward to riding when I visit next year!

I haven't even uploaded for over 5 years, Cos I took the money and then invested it whilst I was trending. Now I own property. I want to build a Theme Park in Huddersfield one day 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We were lucky enough to get on it twice Friday. Thorpe Park really did handle the opening of it brilliantly, one queue for Hyperia specifically and one for the rest of the park. Would have been nice if they had set up screens or something so we could have all watched the opening Ceremony but im sure theres plenty of videos online for it :) hopefully Hyperia is up and running again in no time
Thank you Thorpe park I really appreciate it for making the rides and trying your best to open it on 25th of may I accept your apology but thank you for making that day rememberable thank you :)
24th may was amazing and dream come true for me. My home park finally got a truly world class ride. I queued 7 hours and had a fantastic day. Looking forward to Thorpe getting the amzing ride running reliably and ill be back time and time again. Congratulations to thorpe park they have knocked it out of the park.
Thank you for the update. Elise had an amazing visit on Opening day and really enjoyed experiencing Hyperia! Wishing you all the best and hope to see Hyperia take flight again soon.
We've booked 2 days next week still going to come down and enjoy it. Thanks for the update you can only do what you can and everyone who's moaning it's for the safety of you and everyone else
Thorpe park should be offered an award for how they handled opening day. It was nothing short of a miracle. Every single aspect was thought about. KUDOS to the team ❤
Love how this entire week has been handled by all the team! Opening day was a day so many of us will never forget and the atmosphere was unlike nothing ive ever experienced. Heart goes out to all the staff
We was lucky enough to have a ride on Friday. You all did an amazing job. So organised everyone was buzzing the atmosphere was awesome. Well done everyone at thorpe park. Cant wait to ride Hyperia again. ❤
Really appreciate the updates and that you're providing as much information as you're able to. Whilst it must be disappointing for those that were hoping to ride Hyperia this week, I can imagine its just as disappointing, if not more so, for the whole team at Thorpe who have worked so hard to make the opening a success. I was part of the team for two years and seeing how well everything was going genuinely brought a little proud tear to my eye :'D Looking forward to seeing Hyperia fly again soon!
A BIG thumbs up for how well you ran opening day and also for keeping the public updated on the status of rides, these things happen but its refreshing to see Thorpe Park not stay silent on such things and just keeping people informed
I know for a fact that the people who want this coster open the most are everyone at Thorpe Park and I know they will be doing absolutely everything possible to re open this. The amount of professionalism is admirable
Opening day for Hyperia was absolutely incredible! Brilliant rollercoaster for sure! Such a shame people can’t ride it at the moment but all I can say is it’s worth the wait!
@@wowftw120to be honest, it probably depends on how this year goes for Thorpe park. If they see significantly rising visits and profits then hopefully we might see something new again in a few years. If not…. Well then they might give it a go again in another decade..
It's a shame, and I'm gutted for the Thorpe Park team, who've worked so hard to get the ride open in the best way possible. So glad they're being open with us. Appreciate the work being put in.
Thanks for the update Thorpe Park! I understand these things happen and I’m looking forward to the reopening in June, hopefully I’ll be able to ride this beast sometime this year!
Thanks for the update. Opening day and the press evening was nothing short of amazing. And hopefully everyone will be able to experience this amazing attraction soon. Wishing your team well for reopening. See you soon.
All the people working towards Thorpe Park and Hyperia have been amazing! All trying as hard as they can to make us happy! Good luck with fixing whatever the issue is!
Safety first! At the end of the day, rollercoasters are machines and things are bound to crop up unexpectedly. The closure of Hyperia is as much of a disappointment for Thorpe Park as it for us enthusiasts. Thorpe Park would obviously not want the ride to close especially for a long period of time short after it’s opening day. They handled the opening day on 24th May incredibly - other theme parks around the world need to take notes! Thorpe Park prioritised the safety of their guests first and created an exhilarating, exiting but most importantly, extremely safe day. The staff were fantastic and hats off to the Hyperia ride staff for smashing it with the operations on opening day especially for so long! It won’t be long now until Hyperia will be taking flight again and I can’t wait to get back on the golden goddess - thank you Thorpe Park! You are all amazing! Sending love ❤️
I'm bitter, I don't want to be but I am. We booked a hotel offsite with no free cancellation. I'm going to have to walk around the park on June 2nd looking at it knowing its too far/ expensive for me to nip back after the 8th. Lancashire is over 4 hours away. I'm well aware it's no ones fault but I'm still bitter
I'm in the same boat all booked to visit on the 1st June wish tickets were refundable or be able to reschedule them. I will have to pay again to book accommodation to revisit to ride hyperia.
Same here, we went on the Monday. Vibe was dead. Nothing at all about Hyperia except the fact that it was there. Very weird and absolutely gutting not being able to ride it after seeing others enjoy it.
I haven't even booked to go and I can see why people are so upset. It feels like Merlin, and most parks in general keep rushing projects (literally landscaping the day before the grand opening), and while I don't doubt that it's deemed safe for opening, Nemesis was closed it's entire opening night, Top Thrill 2 is still closed- I understand hiccups with new rides but parks need to push back opening dates until every issue is ironed out instead of pushing for earlier opening dates when rides simply aren't ready
I have rarely seen a park so good at crisis communication. well done. Keeping your audience informed is very important. I hope that hyperia will open quickly and that visitors will be able to ride on it again
What about rap bookings though? They’re now all booked until JULY and it just seems quite disappointing now that we will have to wait until then even for a chance of riding it
Thank you for the update xx I went on the 28th and due to hyperia being closed, I’ve used it as an excuse to go when it is open! So I’m not actually upset! Can’t wait to find my fearless 🪽
Thanks for the update! We were there briefly on its opening day and everything seemed to be managed so well! We can't wait to ride Hyperia later this year ❤
Thanks for the update. While we are visiting on the 7th June, we at least know not to get our hopes up that we can ride on the day, just plan for a return visit at some point later in the year.
Omg! ☹️ thank you so much for all the information about hyperia although, I am really sad! I was looking forward to go see hyperia on the 4th of June 😢
@@ThorpeParkOfficial That would be amazing! As a blind person, a soundtrack is, essentially, my artbook or my way to remember a ride. A sighted person gets lots of t-shirts and pin badges, and there's the occasional tactile medal and resin model, but a soundtrack is really where it's at for the blind.
Went on the Saturday. Sure, I was disappointed but had never been to Thrope Park before, so every ride was a new ride to me. Will be back Also, buckets of respect to the staff at the park.
I said something in a reply, but I want to say it again as a first comment: Please can we show a bit more understanding for Thorpe Park? Of course it is sad for us ‘riders’ that we have to wait for Hyperia to re-open. But Imagine how this is hurting Thorpe Park too. The fact that Hyperia is down during this period is a financial disaster for our beloved park, and I’m sure there are lots of lawyers and insurance claims being triggered for this issue, which is ultimately the real reason why they can’t elaborate on the technical issues. Thorpe Park is doing a great job trying to remain professional, not pointing fingers at anyone and trying to be as open as they can to the public and fans. For what it’s worth, I love how Alice is showing up to talk about it. She is as golden as Hyperia herself. Can we have her vlogging more regularly please? 🥰
Teething issues happen, at least it's being looked after. Although not ideal it means the ride will be better prepared to handle the first few weeks, pattern issues can be recognised as staff get used to the operation and safety as always is remaining tip top which makes me confident for when I ride for the first time
Would be nice to have a small update as to why its closed- no intrinsic details required. Shows a lot of honesty and clarity... assume they are expecting bad PR if they do this... in my opinion it's worst if they don't as people expect just assume they are hiding something bad
Hey, if you've visited any theme park before during a ride shut down you'll usually hear an announcement saying the ride is close due to a technical delay. It's not necessary to go into details, the important factor is re-opening the ride safely. And it's the same for Hyperia, we're working to get the ride back into action soon
@@ThorpeParkOfficial Yup that's fine and when at a theme park you don't expect a full run down of details. However a brand new coaster, the biggest in the country, days after opening, a lot of hype... you expect a little more to be honest!
@@ThorpeParkOfficial and as I said, your tight lipped/ little communication on this only leads me to think it’s a massive oversight/ safety concern by you or the manufacturer. Something that potentially should have been spotted. One that would be a pr disaster if you let it out. So yes it doesn’t look good to me and I won’t be the exception.
Side note, they can't give an exact reason bc unless you have extensive knowlehe about how these complicated machines work, it will be misinterpreted and taken out of context
These Videos are probably the single best communication strategy of a theme park I have ever witnessed. I hope you will also be able to share details on what caused the delays once Hyperia is back flying through fearless valley.
Thank you so much, you'll make Alice very happy! We'd like to remain transparent and say that even once open, these aren't details we'll be sharing. But we are working our socks of to get Hyperia back in operations as soon as possible 🪽
Gutted for everyone who went on Saturday. We all know this is a risk with a brand new ride but it sucks when it happens! Good luck getting everything moving again 😊
I will have my first Thorpe Park im August. It is just so nice to see a park communicating with the guests which is amazing to see. You are already leaving an amazing impression. New rides break down sometimes and people need to understand 🫶
I completely understand that things happen but if we are made to wait this long I think we at least deserve a reason why behind this and I’m sure everyone wants to know why
Hey thank you for your understanding, however, we will not be posting any of these details. However, we are committed to keeping everyone informed with the important details such as the opening date.
If you want to be completely transparent with guests - get the top dog from Mack to give everyone an explanation as to why it has failed to reopen. I think it will be in great interest to anyone wanting to visit Thorpe to experience Hyperia this year
I think they're trying to avoid a TT2 situation. Cedar point really threw Zamperla under the bus on their closing announcement. Thorpe are keeping things positive, which os really refreshing to see. A new part was seen arriving on site today though 👀
Is there any information regarding what the problem could be? I heard people saying it was something with a spare part on the lifthill but I honestly can't imagine why that would cause such a big problem.
‘Can’t see why that would cause a problem’. WTF 😂 yeah let’s just send people on it while it has a fault. A spare part? Hmm, I’m sure they just put random parts on it for the sake of it. Some of these comments boggle the mind. They have to put guest safety first.
Really handing the PR well and other brands should watch how to do this. Hope hyperia gets well soon (hope it’s not the flu) and look forward to riding and finding my fearless later this year
Yep, even a goddess needs time to soar. She's waited probaly thousands of years, forged her own wings now ready to forge the rest. Actually, I'm not entirely sure of the story of Hyperia, and I am kind of hoping that, if not for this time, in the years to come could more audio be added to the queue to explain the story for blind people, if the actress can return?
Luckily I'm not going until September 1st so it should hopefully be reopened by then. It's always a shame to see a new coaster struck by problems like this. We appreciate the updates and will wait excitedly for this behemoth to reopen again!!
Hey no, all the important information for visitors is available via our website. As with any ride shutdown or delay we won't be giving more details than needed.
Hi Thorpe! I Was Here On The 25th And Completely Understood That Hyperia Was Closed. Me And My Family Forgive Y'all And We Hope To See It Back In Operation Soon!
Thank you so much! And from all of us here, please pass on a million apologies from us, we'll do everything we can to ensure Hyperia is flying on your next visit 🪽
I really like how honest thorpe park are but what I am most annoyed about is that the return tickets don't allow you to rebook until the 1st of July therefore if the people who came to thorpe park who don't have an annual pass want to ride hyperia soon they need to rebook tickets and spend more money
Thank you for the update.! I’m planning on booking it on 8th of June.! And let’s hope it opens fingers crossed.! And apperently it something to do with lift hill
Sorry what was the point in this? 2/3 of this spent discussing how good the opening was.. and a tiny segment of nothing about the closure. Weird update.
Please be aware that our social teams are taking some well-earned rest. In the meantime, please see Hyperia FAQs on our website. Thank you 🪽

I’m literally so happy thank you so much for making this masterpiece❤️
Gutted for everyone who went on Saturday. We all know this is a risk with a brand new ride but it sucks when it happens! Good luck getting everything moving again 😊
thanks for all the hard work!
@@ThorpeParkOfficial thank you for that sorry if I came across rude just very disappointed but not at you just the circumstances
@@Themepark866 Don't you worry, we get it! We feel just the same! We'll do everything we can to get Hyperia back in action as soon as possible 🪽
Thank you for the update! Really want to visit it soon!!!
What update? We all know it's closed.
Thanks for the update. Friday was such a fantastic day, and hope to see Hyperia soar again soon!
Anytime! Amazing to hear, and here's to doing it all again soon! Well, perhaps without the planes.
@@ThorpeParkOfficial😂😂 from what I saw the planes kinda added to it imo
I was originally gonna go on the 26th to ride Hyperia but as it was closed, we still went and still looks good, even when its shut
Thank you so much for the update
So what's wrong with it?
Something with the lifthill
Is the gold-themed 236 event still happening this Sunday, with Hyperia closed? Please let us know
this was not an update
If you want to be completely transparent with guests - get the top dog from Mack to give everyone an explanation as to why it has failed to reopen. I think it will be in great interest to anyone wanting to visit Thorpe to experience Hyperia this year
I think they're trying to avoid a TT2 situation. Cedar point really threw Zamperla under the bus on their closing announcement. Thorpe are keeping things positive, which os really refreshing to see.
A new part was seen arriving on site today though 👀
I think they don’t wanna say as to not cause the media to overdramatise it to the point where they make it seem like it’s unsafe.
Is there any information regarding what the problem could be? I heard people saying it was something with a spare part on the lifthill but I honestly can't imagine why that would cause such a big problem.
Hey all the important details we are giving are on our website. As with any ride delay, we won't be going into any more detail than needed.
‘Can’t see why that would cause a problem’. WTF 😂 yeah let’s just send people on it while it has a fault.
A spare part? Hmm, I’m sure they just put random parts on it for the sake of it.
Some of these comments boggle the mind. They have to put guest safety first.
What was wrong with it?
It's a brand-new ride, so it's experience a few teething issues- but we're working on a fix asap.
Thanks for the update!! I watched it get filmed yesterday 😂😅
Anytime! What can we say, we don't mess around 😏
Really handing the PR well and other brands should watch how to do this. Hope hyperia gets well soon (hope it’s not the flu) and look forward to riding and finding my fearless later this year
Thank you so much, it means a lot to us! Bit of Lemsip (🤢) and she'll be good to go! 🪽
I’m really missing Hyperia and it is such a shame that things haven’t got to plan for the park, I can’t wait to get back on soon.
What is wrong with hyperia?
Why can't you give the reason why, or do you not know why it's not working yet?
They know why, there’s fucking engineers working on it, they don’t want to.
Just tell us whats wrong with the ride… Not just unfortunate circumstances !
Hey, this information is not required, any important information regarding the re-opening will be posted on our social channels and website.
Thanks for the update It's a shame about hyperia but safety is important well
Luckily I'm not going until September 1st so it should hopefully be reopened by then. It's always a shame to see a new coaster struck by problems like this. We appreciate the updates and will wait excitedly for this behemoth to reopen again!!
Please can you give a reason why it’s shut?

Thorpe Park should make this STATEMENT
@@markylon They have no obligation to tell us why it's shut. We don't need to know, we just need to know that they're working on fixing it.
Hi! I just wanna say well done on the hard work put into hyperia and no matter how long the downtime is we all understand
Really appreciate it thank you! We'll do our very best to get (the UK's best) coaster back up as soon as possible 💪
Hoping it's open when I go on the 17th of june
Crossing everything for you (wings included!).
@@ThorpeParkOfficial thank you very much
Do we know why its closed or just that it is, just wondering out of personal interest. 😅
I really like how honest thorpe park are but what I am most annoyed about is that the return tickets don't allow you to rebook until the 1st of July therefore if the people who came to thorpe park who don't have an annual pass want to ride hyperia soon they need to rebook tickets and spend more money
Hey thank you, we really appreciate it! In this case, it's best to email customer.services@thorpe-park.co.uk and they can look into it for you.
Its sad to not see hyperia open on the 8th of june but i wish all the team out there trying there hardest to get it back up and running
Is the outer bank our of the station fixed? It wasn't sounding or feeling well at the end of the day
Thank you for the update.! I’m planning on booking it on 8th of June.! And let’s hope it opens fingers crossed.! And apperently it something to do with lift hill
Wings crossed for you!
I'd hold fire... even if it does re-open then, it's going to be carnage for a few days.
I’m coming next Saturday and I’m hopefully I’ll find my fearless
Does anyone know a confirmed reason as to why this has happened?
No details to provide, but we're working to get Hyperia back into action soon.
@@ThorpeParkOfficial Alr, thanks for being so responsive with the community :)
Thank you for your transparency, I feel like Mrs. Thompson might have something to do with this..
As transparent as wood
@@markylon Hey Mark, what details regarding your upcoming visit do you need to know?
Let’s not to forget that VelociCoaster and Hagrids both had weeks/months of operational problems before they ironed out the issues.
Amen! And now, they run like a dream! Hyperia will catch up soon ☺
Sorry what was the point in this? 2/3 of this spent discussing how good the opening was.. and a tiny segment of nothing about the closure. Weird update.
so sad to hear, how about dropping that 10/10 soundtrack as compensation!???
