ah if only she split the infestors. also it pained me to see so much seige tank friendly fire. would it be better to just keep them on unseige at some point?
"How is Clem doing it": undeniable scouts for energy, infinite repairs for energy, free workers for energy. To deny scouts to the terran you have to win the game. Idk, Harstem wont agree, but is the only race that can be turtling and still keep all the map scouted with almost 0 micro only by having enough bases.
ghosts are OP. they counter every single Zerg late game unit. they need to change the steady targeting ability ever so slightly. maybe reduce it's range? maybe increase the channeling time?
I bet Ghosts spend any time off at a chiropractor from carrying the entire fucking Terran army. Scarlett was amazing here but Clem did what he does best. Out last his opponents. Props to him for coming back and winning this. One minor slip and it would have been all over for him.
I know everyone thinks ghosts are OP, but I think Scarlett handled them fairly well most the game. It was near the end that she either got tired, or tunnel visioned, or something. I couldn't help but get the feeling she got too comfortable on infestor-broodlord. I think mixing in vipers, lurkers, and lings did her way more favors than going with sooooo many broods.
By the end of the game I think she was trying to stretch out her mineral usage to last longer, going for more gas-heavy stuff since she had a bank, hence the infestors.
You said it, ghost counters every zerg unit in the game, plus they have thors that counter every air unit and libs that counter all ground units. Zerg has no units that's as powerful as mines/ghosts, that's why this match up never seems totally fair.
Perfect example of why i quit. Still enjoy watching, but not tvz.... Lowko even said it, "why build anything else? Ghosts counter all zerg late game. Build more ghosts!" Heck the siege tanks are the only reason scarlett held on as long as she did. The broodling were aggroing splash damage from them onto the ghosts. How is it fair for a 150m 125g 2 supply unit that takes 29 seconds to create, to HARD counter a a t3 300m, 250g, 4 supply unit that requires 53 seconds to replace it? If it were just that, i guess i get it, some units are meant to be strong against others, but it also counters the infestor, ultralisks AND vipers, and deal similar damage as marine so a hit squad can still handle small groups of zerglings and banelings by just stutter stepping them back. Did i mention they also still manage to have greater range, and move faster too? Ive crunched the numbers, and the only thing that can touch them dps wise that zerg has is a fully stacked hydra. 1 hydra vs 1 ghost with no spells. Hydra wins. But then you have to stack up them, and if they have any other terran units, you're dead, the only thing they'll kill are the ghosts while the siege tanks decimate them. Does terran have that issue? "Oh no they built a bunch of hydras! What will i do! Snipe the overseer, go stealth and run rough shod over their whole team.... But wait! they built lurkers. it's ok ill snipe them too. Is that an ultra thats spose to specialize in aoe dmg to squishys??!???!?!?!? Oops it died before touching me. Nvm. Oh wait, and my 2 siege tanks still killed all 63 of their hydras too..... Well i guess i just win then, and on 2 bases as well, when they had the other 16....... Hmmmm thats crazy. Guess im just better than them. Get gud newb!" That is my experience playing zvt. Glad to see that its also pros dealing with this. Zerg only win tournies because pvt is balanced, and protoss knock them out of tournaments. Dark is honestly the only zerg ive seen lowko cast that actually won a tvz
Another showcase of Ghosts needing a nerf. Perhaps make Microbial Shroud also reduce damage from spells? With a 50% damage reduction, it would like 3 snipes instead of 2 to kill a Lurker and 6 snipes instead of 3 to kill an Ultralisk. (Maybe also make it halve the energy removed by EMP Round, too?) Not sure if it would be imbalanced elsewhere, though. It would take 2 shots from Widow Mines to kill a Zergling with the splash damage instead of 1 (and 3 shots to kill a Drone instead of 1 in case you just happen to have an Infestor defending your mineral line for whatever reason). Also 2 shots from Disruptors to kill a Hydralisk instead of 1. Combined with a nerf to Lurker burrow speed (and maybe even unburrow speed), I think it could be okay, though? Also, TIL from another comment that Steady Targeting's energy cost is refunded if it's canceled due to taking damage. That's dumb.
@@dobrivalov1613 Maybe if Steady Targeting, EMP Round, Thors, and Feedback didn't all outrange Vipers. Also, it's usually said that the counter to Ghosts is Banelings, but it takes *six* Banelines to kill a Ghost, so it's hardly a counter and more like the only thing Zerg has because nothing else works.
@@william_sun The Viper's Blinding Cloud ability is pretty good and its range is 11 - longer range than all these abilities and the same range as the Thor attack. The counter to Ghosts is fungal (which renders sniping unusable) and to some extent Zerglings and Banelings. It all comes down to the control. If the Terran can watch out for Storm or Fungal and then apply countermeasures in the form of spliting or avoiding them in some other way, then the Zerg should be able to do the same against the EMP. The Zerg also has the Queen's transfuse which can often outheal the snipes and the Thor shots and even make some units seem invincible. And let's not forget that the mistakes a Terran makes are way more impactful and sometimes irreversible than the mistakes a Zerg makes. Because if a Terran loses their army, they cannot replace it as easily as a Zerg or a Protoss.
@@dobrivalov1613 Fungal Growth temporarily stops Ghosts from using Steady Targeting, but the Ghosts are still alive, and if you don't actually go in and kill them with something, they're going to just come back at full health. Zerg simply doesn't have a reliable way to actually kill Ghosts. Steady Targeting deals 170 damage and costs 50 energy. Transfusion heals 75 HP immediately plus an unstackable 50 HP over 7 seconds and costs 50 energy. In order to heal through Steady Targeting, you need to cast Transfusion on the unit twice after each snipe. None of the units that are 2-hit kills survive the second snipe after only one Transfusion except the Brood Lord, but only if the second snipe is delayed by more than 5.6 seconds, so you need to land both Transfusions before the second snipe lands to save the unit. So the Zerg needs to spend double the actions and double the energy and can't be slightly too early or slightly too late.
@@william_sun If they control their army well, a Zerg can chain fungal, blanket the opponent's army with blinding clouds, then engage with their army and completely and utterly destroy any unit or group of units. The other spells such as Transfusion, Neural Parasite, Abduct (which is basically a snipe 2.0), Parasitic bomb are all nice additions which add flexibility to the Zerg play. Suddenly you see why the Terran needs EMP. Of course the Zerg is going to lose units and is going to trade inefficiently, that's how the race is designed but it doesn't mean it cannot win. And don't worry, these "extra" actions by the Zerg are mitigated by the need of the Terran to constantly split, siege/unsiege Tanks/Libs, burrow/unburrow Widow Mines, load/unload Medivacs. Plus the positioning of the Terran is way more important than the other races.
That was an insane match - torn on who to root for too, because I love Terran, but Scarlett is Canadian so eh... Those money EMPs though, wow. Can we just take a moment to acknowledge how absolutely bonkers Ghosts are, but also what it says about the state of the game that they are basically the backbone of lategame Terran now? I mean they clearly need nerfing, but that's also going demand a whole slew of other changes because any Ghosts nerfs would be a massive hit to Terran and cannot simply be done in a vacuum.
Due to the fact that Battlecruisers will be useless when zerg has collected huge amount of resources (To morph an muta or corruptors) and ghosts even with cloak is easily countered by "OVERSEER"
That final ghost at the end should be the replacement for Nova - he earned it 🤣

No way you’re asking for a buff on the Ghost🤯
@@bagahbread oops, brain fart
Thank you for the great videos I watch them all and sometimes forget to hit the like and have to go back! Because your awsome
YES more Scarlett thanks
Loko…. You just crazy 😜
ah if only she split the infestors. also it pained me to see so much seige tank friendly fire. would it be better to just keep them on unseige at some point?
"How is Clem doing it": undeniable scouts for energy, infinite repairs for energy, free workers for energy.
To deny scouts to the terran you have to win the game. Idk, Harstem wont agree, but is the only race that can be turtling and still keep all the map scouted with almost 0 micro only by having enough bases.
agreed scarlett definitely outplayed him pretty hard this game, imo should have been a win for her..
Terran only ever loses by overextending
seen scarlett take all those bases down thought "for sure clem is done in" then checked 20 mins left wtf
ghosts are OP. they counter every single Zerg late game unit. they need to change the steady targeting ability ever so slightly. maybe reduce it's range? maybe increase the channeling time?
I bet Ghosts spend any time off at a chiropractor from carrying the entire fucking Terran army. Scarlett was amazing here but Clem did what he does best. Out last his opponents. Props to him for coming back and winning this. One minor slip and it would have been all over for him.
these two dudes put on a awesome game love the match up
I know everyone thinks ghosts are OP, but I think Scarlett handled them fairly well most the game. It was near the end that she either got tired, or tunnel visioned, or something. I couldn't help but get the feeling she got too comfortable on infestor-broodlord. I think mixing in vipers, lurkers, and lings did her way more favors than going with sooooo many broods.
By the end of the game I think she was trying to stretch out her mineral usage to last longer, going for more gas-heavy stuff since she had a bank, hence the infestors.
maybe with more neurals than fungle.... i saw Dark making ultra sexy plays with neurals seems pretty useful
Ghosts are ridiculous. Totally overpowered.
I was rooting for Clem but kept thinking there is no way for him to win. What a beast, holding on for so long
Those deaths from ghost are very painful jesus
Spellcasters are OP (for GM and above)
Hey Lowko, what happened to "He covered his units in vaseline and slipped through everything", you used to say this all the time in all your videos.
The Best Game of 2022!!??
Can anyone recommend any matches where Scarlett does get the Win? Shes great but mostly featured in games with her losing.
Does blinding cloud block ghost snipe?
You said it, ghost counters every zerg unit in the game, plus they have thors that counter every air unit and libs that counter all ground units. Zerg has no units that's as powerful as mines/ghosts, that's why this match up never seems totally fair.
It has been 35 days since you last cast a Maru game.
The title should have been Scarlet vs Ghosts. I hate ghosts, they’re broken against Zerg and it’s probably going to stay that way.
Ghosts sniping ghosts
Really hoping for balance change. Late ZvT is like i got 15 ghosts you can gg out
Another showcase of Ghosts needing a nerf. Perhaps make Microbial Shroud also reduce damage from spells? With a 50% damage reduction, it would like 3 snipes instead of 2 to kill a Lurker and 6 snipes instead of 3 to kill an Ultralisk. (Maybe also make it halve the energy removed by EMP Round, too?)
Not sure if it would be imbalanced elsewhere, though.
Snipe's energy refunding is imba but Vipers recharging energy is ok?
She got 99 problems but a drone ain't one.
I mean they clearly need nerfing, but that's also going demand a whole slew of other changes because any Ghosts nerfs would be a massive hit to Terran and cannot simply be done in a vacuum.
just cheer for scarlett U SEE THAT MICRO
The Battle Cruiser should be the backbone of the Terran army as a massive unit.
Aaargh I was cheering for Scarlett, very gg though
Clem Clem!!!
Clem!
Amazing game!
Day 114 of asking lowko to play Emperor battle for Dune
Why did terran not go bc's or use ghost cloaking earlier?
Due to the fact that Battlecruisers will be useless when zerg has collected huge amount of resources (To morph an muta or corruptors) and ghosts even with cloak is easily countered by "OVERSEER"
legit question why does scarlett keep making infestor when she have a lot of them in the end there??
Clem gigachad.
Woow what a power play... sucks that i broke my computer while cleaning inside. I banelingd my own computer lol
Holy shit, what a game xD
Scarlett should have won this if ghosts weren't ridiculously broken
yeah, ghost, responsible of 80% of the cost uneffiency results of the zerg units, but i suppose we must say its fine. 🙃
i loved that fight for that one base, and how Scarlett thought he could take it
well, Clem still had a nuke avaliable.
it´s only natural Scarlett gave up at this point.
Good Game, and T OP :D
And this is why I hate ghosts so much.
Lol people complain about Vipers when Ghosts literally counter the entire Zerg race
