@@wolverinex9748 Maru is clearly below Clem. Terran is not imba Until you Reach the "Serral and Clem" level. Why? That is because Terran units gain bigger bonuses from micro and have a higher skill celling. If we put 2 players into tvz and both of them play Perfectly, there is no way for the Terran to lose because the micro bonus from Terran is greater. Lategame Terran army will always beat a lategame zerg army od equal skill level. The micro with the zerg doesnt do much except spells casters which will be sniped by ghosts(remember, this is played perfectly so in lategame Terran Has sensor towers and enought scans to kill all burrowed infestors and with more micro that you can do with Terran, zerg doesnt trade efficiently in a straight up engagement).

well zerg has been nerfed a ton for 5 straight years. i hope blizzard realizes this and starts balancing this game starting with ghost, marines, and mules nerf. 8 maxed marines ball in a good position is untouchable for any zerg units late game, and gets safely instant pick upped when cornered meanwhile ghost has no counter for a 2supply unit. it just destroys lings, ultras, broods, lurkers, infestors from miles away, and even fast enough to outrun fungal, and banes, as if it cant tank 5 bane hits to begin with. then theres mules a 0supply unit that can generate infinite marines. it just makes terran the most potent in a 200supply vs 200supply game i think they should atleast nerf the shield or stimpack upgrade effects, slow down ghost to a high templar speed, or increase its supply cost, or maybe remove emp and give it to ravens, and also decrease mules income
Unless I missed it, I'm dissapointed in their cast here. This is so clearly a balance issue involving easily produced and upgraded super powerful cheap marines in speed boosted, instant pick up from distance, healing drop ships. Its clearly an OP balance issue, primarily with the drop ships needing a huge nerf. And it's tough watching Tastosis not state the obvious because serious SC2 people watching this game can see it clear as day and understand that basically we just watched a chess tournament with one player with more / better pieces than the other. This was a horrible, boring, game to watch because of it.
@@ShyBri41 how is it CLEARLY a balance issue? how can u use a single series as the metric bro thats awful science. u forget the perspective of medivac having no attack yet taking up supply, slow when not boosting, expensive, slow to build, and marines extremely sensitive to AoE/being cornered/caught in the open. and ALL races can drop; why would u nerf it? and how do u get ur cohort of "serious SC2-people"?? as almost 4k elo and fan since early wol i consider myself an avid and "serious" fan, but i take more than one series and two players into account before i declare something unbalanced! :) This is not a wide-spread problem, this is just a God-like player. Two points: 1. 1st place is 400k and 2nd place is 150k, pretty good winnings for both Clem and Serral respectively. 2. The fact that Dark AND Hero both got 0-4'd by Clem and Serral just shows how out of it that South Korea is with SC2, with most Korean pros going back into brood war.
I once saw Serral play a game of sc2 and thought to myself "this is peak sc2, how can anyone beat him?" And then Clem happened. what an absolute master class he seriously plays Terran like a Zerg sometimes it's scary.
Nobody can beat Clem when he plays like this. I mean if the GOAT of SC2 can't do it, who can? I wouldn't be shocked if Clem eventually becomes the GOAT of SC2 but it's still a tall order, since Serral's been so good for so long. But no one has a better chance than Clem to dethrone Serral. Looking forward to more great games from these two.
Is this why the recent balance patch pretty much said "Terran needs a Ghost nerf?" My opinion is a gross simplification from a not-even-grandmaster person, but the value of Ghosts countering multiple high level unit plays and strats from both Zerg and Protoss seems busted. Where for Zerg and Protoss it's a substantial tech switch to try to push through with mid-late game unit A versus unit B, for Terran it's the same "get ghosts, you covered for both." That's what is frustrating to watch. It seems really silly that Ghosts are what you need to deal with: Vipers, Infester -- mid/late game casters. Ultralisks and Broodlords -- literally the "strongest" late game unit in air and on the ground. Anything other than mass cheap units, it seems like having a group of Ghosts has you covered. Against Protoss EMP is does something against literally everything, every caster. Protoss high level air has a lot of shield though so EMP is still very effective and necessary. For Protoss they can somewhat defend against Ghost's with observers in sentry mode (not sure what it's call) being an invisible detector with very high range, or even revelation being pretty strong when it's tracking a group of Ghosts. But as Zerg, they seem to have to play by guessing where the Ghosts are reacting and hoping the hits are super critical.
It seems like when played at the maximum level, there's nothing Zerg can actually do against Terran. Every single tool the Terran has seems to hard counter them for too little effort.
Clem had much less to do then serral did 100% ghosts have been broken for yeaaaaars zero nerf. It's only because seral is so good that they've nerfed zerg hard for 5 years. This tournament was a gimme to clem. 5 - 0 on seral not a chance if balanced.
Ghost is very strong vs zerg, yes, but zerg was making several mistakes. Allowing free viper/ultra snipes, not counterattacking bases, making way too many hydralisks. And even on a strategic level, going for a repeated semi all in on game 3 when it got crushed on game 1, of course it was never going to work. Terran meanwhile played almost without any errors at all, almost never giving away units.
There is a balance issue, period. You don’t have to diminish Clem’s performance to realize that. Stim’ marines move as fast as a zergling, what the hell is that, it makes zero sense, both from a balance perspective and from a design perspective. Also the cap or supply cost doesn’t work as it is now. You have 200/200 Zerg facing 200/200 Terran and armies are almost identical, this is a major issue for a race designed to outnumber opponents.
This was like watching a chess world finals where one player starts with more / better pieces. Dirt Cheap Hyper powerful Marines super fast when stimmed marines that can roast basically any zerg unit, with Dirt Cheap Upgrades, in speed boosted, dirt cheap, instant pick up from a distance, healing units is so clearly a balance issue this was neither particularly impressive nor fun to watch - including Tastosis not pointing out the obvious. This was a horrible match.
@@ShyBri41 serral making clear mistakes/bad decisions on top of being flustered with each compounding loss totally means this was a balance issue, of course... cry more.
Terran has all the tools to defeat zergs. We just never had someone good enough to use them, til Clem. Zergs need a unit that shift balance for z for once
Terrans has all the tools to defeat all races except themselves tbh. If you dont think that, just look at the ghost and the window mines. Both of them are basically useless in TvT but used so much in both TvP and TvZ
Zerg can’t defeat terrans in the current state of the game. This is what those games are showing. Clem plays top level but it’s not enough. There is a huge balance issue, which for me is a combination of stim marines moving too fast and Zergs not being able to produce enough units.
seems like serral is not in his form, in game 2 the creep is kinda lacking in the 5th/4th base, in the following game the queens are mispositioned in the main base , they could've easily backed off those medivacs and so on

As a Serral fan: Do you blame the same thing (balance) when Maru gets cooked 4-0 mulitple times by Serral? I don't understand why it is so hard to admit that Clem simply was better that day.
Yes, a 5-0 hurts to see but Clem is making things possible the same way Serral made them possible when people never thought there'd be a player to play Zerg that way.
Last time when Clem won 3-1 or 3-0, Serral won their next encounter. Just give the GOAT some time.

And then combine that with professional players doing this for a well paid living…
And you get Clem basically breaking the game (or showing why the marine medivacs need a nerf) because this is so clearly OP balance it’s ridiculous. A newb could watch this games and say “it sure seems unfair the one team has those flying pick up ships and buzz saw little marine guys”

Clem secretly has 4 hands. That's how he can micro 2 armies. Seriously, congrats Clem! Haven't seen anyone make serral feel helpless before.
Serral tapped out of game 4 with a 8k/3k bank. That really shows that he had no answers for Clem's play. He didn't even want to try anymore.
He had no more space in the game and wasn't making any progress at all no matter what he tried. His bank was irrelevant since he couldn't find any way to leverage it at all. He was losing units faster than he could reproduce armies, which is crazy for a Zerg.
if i remember correctly, Serral ran out of larvae, so 8k/3k bank was unspendable, meaning their just numbers that have no value, which is essentially what bank is in the game, if you have any amount of resources in the bank, they technically have no value, their just dispalyed numbers until they are used.

@@Floxxoror lol, it's a fair comment he made.
@@DaevorTheDevoted No, the dance between zerg and terran is inevitable for the zerg. 90% of the time zerg takes slight losses, 10% of the time zerg makes a giant cleanup. if he would not have been going back and forth - which means losing units due to kiting and mines - he would have lost ground which leads to losing bases which leads to an even earlier end of the game.
But go on, tell the best player of all times, how he could improve. Clems very very good but the issue here is balance. Marines in drop ships is a balance issue - Serral doesn't lose 0-5 in world finals unless there is one, and a good example of that balance issue is basically all high level terrans play that drop ship style. They are easily and cheaply produced and upgraded units that are hugely powerful, especially at 3 3, and the boost feature on drop ships and instant pick up make them massively over powerered. Good on Clem, but he just won 400k in a chess tournament where the other player started with less pieces.

well zerg has been nerfed a ton for 5 straight years. i hope blizzard realizes this and starts balancing this game starting with ghost, marines, and mules nerf.
8 maxed marines ball in a good position is untouchable for any zerg units late game, and gets safely instant pick upped when cornered
meanwhile ghost has no counter for a 2supply unit. it just destroys lings, ultras, broods, lurkers, infestors from miles away, and even fast enough to outrun fungal, and banes, as if it cant tank 5 bane hits to begin with.
then theres mules a 0supply unit that can generate infinite marines. it just makes terran the most potent in a 200supply vs 200supply game
i think they should atleast nerf the shield or stimpack upgrade effects, slow down ghost to a high templar speed, or increase its supply cost, or maybe remove emp and give it to ravens, and also decrease mules income
I've been playing sc since 1997 and if you told me you could play like this even 15 years ago I'd have laughed at the absurdity. Now I watch in awe

holy shit... fartosis and tasteless casting a big $$$ tourney?? is it 2010 again? love it
Unless I missed it, I'm dissapointed in their cast here.

Every single tool the Terran has seems to hard counter them for too little effort.
for too little effort? sure, just play like Clem and micro two armies at once, lol yeah little effort
It is great to see someone be able to stand up to Serral who seemed unbeatable in TvZ. Especially since it is my favourite race match-up.
Damn! Clem should marry Serral after what happened here
This was like watching a chess world finals where one player starts with more / better pieces.
