thx keep it up. BTW, it is amazing for me as a German to be able seeing very recent footage of an American city like Chicago here, always wondered what it would look like
Unfortunately, he isn't showing the most beautiful drives in the city (Lake Shore Drive and Magnificent Mile), since these aren't challenging for FSD. Chicago is much more beautiful than what is displayed here!!!
Great video! About the early blinker thing: I think the car is programmed to turn on the bliunker 100 ft before the turn, which is the rule in most states. So even with another turn, the car will still turn on the signal
You sometimes confuse “sees” with “visualizes”. The car only visualizes things it sees above a certain confidence, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t “see” it, just that it’s not confident enough to display it. It might still act defensively because of its uncertainty.
This is something we humans do all the time. We just don't realize it. In all decisions we make on a daily basis we can most of the time attach a confidence level to each decision.
Impressive step forward, this is one of the 10.12.1 videos I've been looking forward to. Surprised and happy to see that that Road Closed operation has been in place long enough for you to make this. Definitely belongs in the future Museum of Autonomy. I lost count of how many times you've tried it. And that 'double-stop' too, which must be a tough one for the FSD team. A good day. Thank you! Next milestone, Chuck Cook and his unprotected left/median, soon I hope..!
That was very smooth all things considered. Looking forward to your downtown drive(s)! It had difficulty in those city canyons before which should show marked improvement with this version. Thank you! 🙏
Hey i like your videos, good work 👍. As you said, „the blinker is going on one second to early“ i was thinking, ok it must be really good when this are actual problems! 😀
This really is a big improvement. After so many releases that felt more like side steps or back steps. This one really feels like progress. It’s giving me hope that 11 will actually be something significant when they converge the stacks and take all the aggregate data into consideration. Sidenote every time I watch you driving down Randolph I think of Princi and how much I miss it now. Know any good places to get a good croissant in the Chicagoland area? Princi was the closest I could find outside of Paris…
Thanks, I’ll check it out for sure! I’ll look forward to seeing if you manage to get that lower Wacker video sometime soon. I don’t have as much reason to be that far downtown anymore but even before I had the beta I would have a hard time with navigation in the Tesla let alone auto pilot or FSD in the loop. But especially in underground parts. It just couldn’t seem to understand where I was with the overlapping roads, whether I was on upper Wacker or lower Wacker and I was hoping that with the inertia sensors that it would handle it better now especially in beta. I remember Elon saying something about the cars being able to keep track of where they were in parking garages using the same technology in collaboration with advanced summon. Thanks for the great videos! They really are some of the few that address downtown driving or city driving in a meaningful way since such a large part of the population is in urban areas where EVs can really have an impact on air quality and noise, and are much needed.
I think FSD is getting most of its training in downtown situations which makes it quite good in situations like this. However, the unintended consequence is that in suburban areas (45-55 mph zones) FSD does not perform nearly as well. Just something to think about.
Nice video. A few edge cases, but a good job overall. Tesla is the leader in autonomy. No one is catching them. Not trying to be a fanboy, just stating facts.
It feels like 10.12 visualize phantom cars a lot compared to previous version. It does visualize most of them in a less confident transparent way, but it still feels a little weird.
Your city has a lot of stop signs, odd that they place just about anywhere, under the bridge it was behind a pier and before that it was too far away from the road and could easily be hidden by a parking car. I hope it will come to Europe soon
Getting slicker all the time. Curious about the tilted stop sign. If you're in another situation, say, a neighborhood with a 4 way intersection and no stop sign, will it stop anyway if no other traffic visible?
I am Korean and I am watching your video very well. Could you test version 10.12 in a complicated traffic situation? I'd appreciate it if you could test me
@@happyjohn1656 FSD (level 4) is not possible without radar. Tesla just figured that out eairly last month. To bad they will have to recall and retrofit radar on newer builds. It's going to be a mess!
Actually, you should test on failing corner cases which you did NOT submit previously (preferably not "saving" them for tests, but finding new ones:). Now that your report videos were included in the training set, you are effectively testing on the training set, which is not a conservative test at all...
This city got 3 worlds road quality or worse. What kind of wheels do you use on your car. Model 3 performance wheels would be totally destroyed at that roads 😂
Think about it though. You're happy that it can stop for stop signs? Brother. A beginner driver does that. Very few other cars on the road in this test, People are too optimistic about this.
The crooked stop sign is a good progress milestone. Edge cases dropping off the list. Love it.
"It's not going to avoid any potholes"... the only way would be to take another road! Great ride and very impressive performance.
Phillip.
Wow this version of BETA is really showing off the hard work the Tesla AI team has been putting in! 👏 👏 👏

I’m in the uk and I said the same ,it’s great to just be driving around city’s and the countryside and having a look at everything.
It was so cool when he used to record 360 videos. Watching that on a VR headset is like being a passenger on the roof of the car.

@@liferethought hahah I really hope so, it looks so bleak in these videos
Wow, holy crap! It's so good now! This is light-years ahead of what it used to be. When every drive is this good, it's ready for robo-taxis.

@@FrenchieFSD Ha ha nicely done 'pretty impressive' indeed thanks. I completely mis remembered the pass rate... Thumbs up/hats off emoji.
The speed bump would got me too. Visually it’s very hard to notice. This version is so much better. Not sure any major flaw exist at this point.
There's definitely major flaws, just not on this drive. It's clearly making progress though.

great video in chicago... now do the south side and see if the Tesla survives... LOL
06:32 Are you sure you're allowed to drive right through that potato field? :-)
I’m so confused. Is this FSD beta 10.12.1 or FSD beta 12.3.15?
Tesla has 2 version name for the same software: FSD Beta 10.12.1 AND 2022.12.3.15. I know it's confusing...
@@FrenchieFSD maybe to be clear you should write 'software version 2022.12.3.15' in the title so it's a little less confusing
