I actually don't understand people thinking that the imprinting is weird, the fact that you think about a sexual relationship between a grown up man and a baby IS weird because everyone now is searching for bad things everywhere.
But the thing is, if you listen closely to how he's explaining how the imprinting works, you understand that he is whatever she needs, she's a baby so she doesn't need a husband or a sexual partner she needs a brother or a parental figure so that's what he is going to be for the first few years then when she will be a teenager she will need a friend so he will see her as a friend and when she will be an adult he will see her as her wife if she has a romantic interest in him. But when she's a baby he has absolutely NO interest in her in a sexual or romantic manner and that's what people don't understand. Yes they have 90% chance of being husband and wife later but before that they have absolutely zero interest in each other in this way, and in the books it is actually explained that sometimes when a wolf is imprinting on someone they don't end up together even if it's rare it happens and it also shows that a wolf isn't directly romantically and sexually attracted to the person he is imprinting on so no there is absolutely nothings strange in their relationship.

People will try to tell you that the Jacob-Resume thing isn't weird and is completely innocent. These people are wrong.
The movies almost had plausible deniability about this (painting Jacob as a platonic guardian) until one very unfortunate line in the last movie.
In the books it's crystal clear from the start that all the characters know Ratatouille is going to be Jacob's future romantic partner. It is very clearly grooming.

Quill (the wolf who imprinted on a 3 year old) loses all interest in women after imprinting, and only cares about Claire (the imprintee). Edward at one point refers to Jacob as "my brother... my son".

The issue of imprinting is only more bizarre because it takes away the wolf's own will. The imprinted person will always be the wolf's #1 priority, not even the "needs" themselves will get to be stronger than what the imprinted person wants.If Reneeme wanted Jacob to be a pet, he would be.💀
There is no explained reason for the imprinting to happen, only theories about Sam and Jacob's father. As Stephanie is releasing more books, one of them must officially explain what motivates imprinting.
I personally have always had a theory that imprinting happens to "soul mates". As if their "spirits" or "energy" were compatible, not necessarily a romantic thing but that connects them like threads that Stephanie herself uses as an analogy.
Recently I watched the kdrama Tomorrow and they show the red threads not only connecting lovers but all the people you are destined to meet (mother, father, children, siblings, friends...)
I feel that imprinting is like something like that. A thread that connects the wolf to his soul mate, their energy 100% compatible, only that thread is so strong that it makes all the others seem like nothing to the wolf. And this is where it gets bizarre, it's such a strong connection that it's almost as if all the important threads are cut and wolf lives for the person he imprinted on, with no motivation as strong or more important than giving that person what they want.
