ok let's go over what really is known about imprinting. jacob has no control over it whatsoever. like the situation with leah the wolf was in love and i may be wrong but i thought engaged. then one day he sees someone else and instantly he could only love the woman he imprinted on. jacob walked into the room to kill renesmee saw her face and suddenly she was the absolute center of his world. the reason she can't be harmed is until now they've never had two packs in the tribe. if a wolf imprinted and you killed them you had to share a telepathic bond with them the rest of your life and they will never ever be able to get over it. the whole isea of imprinting really draws heavily from some mormon ideas but basically combines the idea of love at first sight and instinctually recognizing the destined soulmate and cranks it up to 11. renesmee is not directly effected. she technically has a choice though. but there is someone whose whole existence is centered on her. who will change to be what she needs and wants as she grows. the idea she won't end up with someone like that is rather unlikely and why they treat it as they will be together. jakes feelings at this time are entirely wholesome. if he had crossed that line edward would have torn him apart immediately. there is some suggestion the reason he was drawn to bella throughout the series so strongly was she was destined to have his destined person. it's odd but the idea at least was meant to be wholesome. it is still weird and creepy though in execution and not sure they could have executed it less so

You are correct. He wanted both Edward and Alice, but Alice for sure. Aro can read thoughts like Edward, it’s just that Edward doesn’t have to touch the person. He has no one like Alice. He suspects there is going to be something about Bella, but he definitely wants Alice.

Fun fact: The song that plays during Bella and Edward's vows and kiss scene is the same song used when they were slow dancing at the prom gazebo from the first movie.
In a deleted scene after Jacob imprinted on Renesme, Edward read his mind and he gets pissed off so he breaks Jacob arm, but then he understand Jacob thoughts, and also Roxy, Bella named her baby because of Edward's mother, Esme ( Carlisle wife ) and Bella's mother...
nah all idea of this being something inocent goes out the window when Jacob asks Edward if he should call him dad. It was unnecessary to have him imprint on the baby
In general everyone in this Chanel is my favorite because they watch the movies with an open mind, and they don’t let other people opinions influence in their own opinion.
Fun fact: Robert Pattinson once said in an interview that one of the weirdest things he ever had to do on set, was holding a baby covered in cream cheese and strawberry jam 😂😂😂
All they had to do was have him wait a bit longer and have her grown up the first time he saw her to not make this the weirdest grooming series ever. I don’t think it served Taylor Lautner to have to be seen as a character waiting for her to grow up….
Trust me when I say most Twilight fans never liked Jacob imprinting on Renéesme. It's explained away with "it's not necessarily romantic", but the way it's written, talked about and presented makes it almost undeniable that it is in some sense. If Meyer wanted Jacob to imprint on Renéesme, there were a ton of ways to clarify that it's not in a creepy "romantic" sense, but she didn't. I can't remember if it was confirmed but people speculated Meyer wanted Jacob out of the triangle now that Bella and Edward were married but she couldn't just have him fall out of love like a normal person but instead had him kind of, maybe, definitely fall in love with their daughter as an infant. It's really uncomfortable. You can also really tell Meyer's Mormon values shines through in this movie/this part of the fourth book with the very heavy pro-life stuff. From what I remember the book's even more intense about it, which is weird when you think about the target demographic of this series. I love Twilight, but I am also a huge hater of so much surrounding it lmfao.
Yeah basically she pretty much said since after they got married and had their kid Edward and Bella’s story was pretty much done so no more love triangle, personally even though I’m not a big Jacob fan it felt she wasn’t sure what to do with him at times in the story just in general.
To be fair there is a part in the book where there on the beach and another wolf is with a little girl and he's explaining to Bella what imprinting is and bella gets grossed out because it was a little girl but explains how it's not like that and that becomes what she needs protector big brother ect..but ya I agree he should have took off with another women or maybe written it a little better to take the creepy factor out 😂
Ive read all the books and the last one more then once. As much as I can udnerstand why its weird and uncomfortable for him to imprint on a baby I just dont know if I find it as weird as most do. An unpopular opinion yes, and im prob biast cause im team Jacob and I hate how he is treated at times. Him imprintiing though is what saves them from fighting each other and I just cant look past that. There is also another member of the wolf pack that has imprinted on a child. Jacob explains this in the book and he explains it as him just wanting the best for the child and protect at all costs, he explains that its not a creepy kind of love. So for me this is not a bad thing, strange yes but okej in the end. If I remember right i even think he tells Bella this which is why I get so frustrated at her when she finds out...could have gone without the Alice seeing the future and Jacob making that joke at the end i think though, to make it less grooming and creepy weird (doesnt happen in the book. Plus if he was lusting and if it was a falling in love kind of love Im pretty sure Edward would know about it since he can read Jacobs thoughts and break his neck for it). I just want Jacob to be happy and I hate how twisted it got for him. I dont think he deserves all the hate he gets for imprinting cause he cant help it and in the end it does save them from a lot of trouble and nobody is hurting from this. And to be clear, this is what I think cause this is a fantasy series and a lot going on that isnt "normal". I would think this is faar more creepy and wrong if this was real life!
The easiest way to clarify that it’s not romantic would’ve been to show the other wolves who’ve imprinted do it in a non-romantic way. Aka a mother imprinting in her child, a gay man imprint on a gay woman etc. Or even better, have Jacob fall in love with another woman despite having imprinted on Renesmee that way it’s clearly a guardian role
As a reader of the books when they first came out, I disagree. When I got to Jacob imprinting on the baby, I understood it, and the books can give more direct explanation than the movies. I'm sorry some people didn't understand how it worked. Also, is a one-way street. Jacob imprinting will NOT force the baby to be in love with him. The one who lost free will was Jacob - he know completely loves Renéesme, in the other sense, and will always want to do what is best for her.
6:37 Mountain Lions are Edward's favorite meal. Bears are Emmett's favorite, which alludes to his background story where he was mauled by a bear and Rosalie and Carlisle "saved" him.
👍👍 John, not only are you super knowledgeable about movies and music, you're always so courteous and in sync with your reaction partner(s), picking up their line of thought immediately and echoing it.
Alice: ‘The placenta must have detached’ John: ‘Can we still eat it?’ 😂🤮 RonJoxy making our Saturdays awesome!! This and part 2 have some **interesting** parts but overall they’re great. I like the second part better. And yes, Stephenie Meyer wrote Midnight Sun, which is from Edward’s POV.
4:23 he ran to Alaska. He wanted to remain a wolf and had planned to. He also planned on a force imprinting on someone, anyone, to get Bella off his heart but only met a friendly girl who he felt he could be with but ultimately chose to come back home.
So just to put some facts in the comments , some one might have already done this: 1) the “blood” they used to have Bella drink to become healthy was cream cheese and raspberry sauce. it was super disgusting actually to Kristen 2) THE WHOLE IMPRINTING THING: when jacob imprints on Renesemee (probably spelled that off) it’s to protect her and it was also not his intention. He goes in there to unalive the baby but imprinting happens unconsciously, it just takes over you once you find the “one”. for example in the book Leah and Sam were in the relationship until he imprinted on his current lover. That’s why Leah is so bitter about imprinting. Jacob is her best friend, lover , or protector; whatever Renesemee needs. Imprinting also slows down the aging process of wolves. 3) THE HONEYMOON: in the books , after the first night. Edward tries to tire Bella out so she doesn’t wanna 😉 and he can’t hurt her.
One slight correction, Imprinting doesn't slow down the aging of the wolves. While regularly phasing, the wolves don't age, regardless of whether they have an Imprint. It's actually sort of the opposite, most wolves will choose at some point to stop phasing so that they can grow old with their mortal Imprints 😊
@@sorchamiana i completely forgot about how shifting back and forth technically slows down the aging process but they do stop shifting after imprinting or not. you are right.
I saw it said that the cream cheese and raspberry sauce was the blood on the baby. And it wouldn't really makes sense to have such a thick and weird concoction when all you need is for her to suck it up through a straw, so I suspect you probably got things mixed up.
How did they miss Rene is Bella's mum's name?? And that Esme is Edward's adoptive mum. I love their reactions but they seemed to miss key details. And how can Roxie still think imprinting is a choice?? Jacob clearly didn’t choose to imprint on the baby. You can see he went in there to kill her and the imprinting was such a shock to him that he fell to the ground.
Great reaction Roxy & John! 😊 Don't worry, there's more to come with Maggie Grace's character in the next movie. Fun Fact: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart(they were dating by this point)filmed all of the honeymoon scenes on location in Rio de Janerio. Back in the day, getting the behind the scenes pics was like a Christmas present for us Team Edward girls. LOL! The wedding scene has always been one of my favorite scenes in this one. Always loved how Jacob was able to break away from Sam's pack. And he formed his own wolf pack with Seth and Leah to protect Bella. Roxy was so fixed on the possibility of Jacob imprinting on Bella that she and John DID NOT see him imprinting on Renessme coming. And yes, now that Jacob imprinted on Renessme he is like a protector for her. I'm already excited for "Breaking Dawn Part 2" next weekend. But at the same time sad because it'll be the last of the "Twilight" ones next week. Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊
I wish y'all react to the extended version of the film to see Edward breaking Jacob's arm and throwing him against the wall after reading his mind and discovering the imprinting and that he was going to kill Renesmee hahah It's such a satisfying scene after that atrocity of Jacob imprinting on a baby
Some fun facts: her dress. Alice designed it around edward. Well the era he was from. When she found out she was pregnant she went to rose for help bc she knew her stance on life. She knew she would help her protect the baby. The mom confusion: rennesme derives from bella's mom renee and edwards mom, esme. Thats how she came up with Reneseme. The island they went to on their honeymoon wasnt a gift to them. It belongs to carlise and esme. It was a gift to esme from Carlisle when they got married. Prior to her becoming motionless, edward wasnt turning her or biting her, more he was biting the amniotic sac surrounding the baby. In order to get to her. Carlise mentioned the needles wouldnt pentetrate the sac, so them using a scalpel wouldnt work, so he used his vampire sharp fangs lol -- and when bella seems "dead" yeah she kinda slipped into a catatonic -like state, but esp once we see her lying motionless, no expression, however we see inside her mind is a different story. Once he injects her with his venom, youd think she'd be writhing in pain (like in the first film when she was bit!) However, we see her still as can be, then we see internally she is screaming in agony. But outwardly no signs of that, recall from the very first film when she tells eric, "im more the suffer in silence type." I attribute this directly to WHY bella is lying there suffering in silence. Its literally who she is as a person, she tells us so from the very beginning. Plus, she doesnt wanna put edward thru it again, so alas thats why we get that scene. She is very in control of herself, and thats important to keep in mind for later. And ah the imprinting, Jacob does imprint, but its in Reneseme. Ppl take issue witth it BECAUSE they misunderstand what it means. Yes, in the past when its initially brought up, it has a romantic connotation connected to it bc of sam and Emily. And us seeing and hearing it from jacobs POV. and we continue to hear how he WISHES he could imprint on bella. But it chooses you, not the other way around. Thats why jacob shows disdain for it during the beach scene with the wolves, he thinks it takes away their choice. But also. Its not solely romantic. Like jacob said in movie 2, its like when u see her, suddenly its not gravity holding u to the earth. She is! Youd do anything be anything she needs; a friend, a brother, a protector. " in that moment. When he looks into Reneseme's eyes, thats when it happens for him. He feels it immediately, and now we know WHY it was so hard for him to stay away from bella. A PART OF HER (But not actually HER) resides the person he was always gonna imprint on, she just wasnt BORN yet. But it isnt romantic imprinting. He doesnt look at her like that. He just knows he will be whatever she needs of him, a friend, brother, protector. Ect! And you did guess right, they absolutely cannot hurt her bc he imprinted on her.
Ok the imprinting thing of the werewolves doesn't get explain as much as it should and people always get it wrong. The wolves all have a soulmate. But see the term soulmate isn't always a romantic relationship. It can be romantic. It can be mother and daughter. Teacher and student. Brother and sister. Best friend and best friend. Fate guides you to the person your life is tide to. Once you see them you can never be apart from them. And nether can the other person. It's supposed to be a magical life fulfillment for them. But the roles for the two people in the relationship can change depending on the situation. And no matter what role fate gives them both parties feelings are completely genuine. Jacob never imprinted on Bella he just fell with her the regular human because technically he's human.
I dunno about the best, but the Maelstrom wedding from Pirates 3 was my personal favorite wedding scene put to film. (Speaking of which, I hope one or two of The Rejects haven't seen the Pirates of the Caribbean movies so we can get reactions to them! 💜 🙏
I love the Letters to Juliet’s wedding scene. I don’t think it was a book or anything but the movie’s letter writing group IS based on a real-life club. And I agree with @mimic1984 - the wedding from Pirates 3 is pretty great
i personally love the wedding in father of the bride with steve martin. But it did give me an unreasonable idea for my wedding in the future lol it did cost around $100k for the wedding in father of the bride mine cost around £2k hahaha
Imprinting wasn’t supposed to be romantic, technically. It’s also involuntary. But then they ruin it in the books, when one of Jacob’s friends (Quil) imprints on a 2 year old. Again, at first it’s fine, but then they say that because Quil and the kid are going to hang out all the time, they will eventually end up together romantically. I feel like if it would have been strictly a protector thing, it would have been ok. But along with the book having Quil imprint on a toddler and say that they will be together someday, the next movie also makes it really weird, especially with a certain line toward the end. Also, they only recreate the cover with the first movie. And kind of with this one when they’re playing chess (the book’s cover image is a chess bird with the queen standing out).
So the book was broken into three parts. Bella's first part lasts until I think their return from Brazil. The middle part is from Jacob's point of view until Renesmee is born and Edward is trying to turn Bella. The last part is Bella waking up as a vampire. I wasn't a fan of the POV shift but some parts of Jacob's pov were great, especially his interactions with Rosalie, but those did not make it. The imprinting was weird when I read it at 15, and it's still weird to me nearly 15 years later. Also, Bella called Rosalie because Bella knew that Rosalie's biggest wish was to have children. Bella banded with her to have someone one her side to help her since she knew everyone else was going to be against it. I haven't read Breaking Dawn in at least 12 years so some of my remembrance might be off, but I'm pretty sure that was Bella's motive for calling Rosalie.
You think? They don’t know Esme is Carlisle’s wife ! But they do need to read the books, as much as I loved all the actors in each of the parts,I liked the books better.
It was not Jacob’s choice to imprint on Renesmee. Imprinting is an involuntary phenomenon that happens to the wolves so they find their mate. When their imprint is young, there is no romantic feelings at that stage, he will just play a friend guardian/protector/brother role. When Renesmee gets older, most likely those feelings will turn romantic, but it will be Renesmee’s choice if she wants to be with him when that happens.
I think it’ll be interesting. If Stephanie Myers writes a book about renesmeeand jacob that she doesn’t fall for Jacob, I think that would be the most interesting thing.
@@HeatherJames88I read a Twilight Fanfic once where Jacob imprinted but Edward and Bella didn’t let him near her. Unlike the source material, Renesme grew slowly. Maybe 5-10 years for every human year. It was interesting.
@HeatherJames88 Also read a fanfic, where the Cullens and Bella moved right after Bella discovered she was pregnant, so Jacob never knew that Bella was pregnant. Then the Cullens came back to Forks after 10 years when Renesmee is a fully grown at that point and Jacob imprints on her then. It was actually a sweet story.
I get what you are saying but Stepanie Myers didn't write it that way. It's essentially grooming until they are old enough to have romantic feelings and it's disgusting
It’s not meant to be a sick thing. You become whatever the person needs at the time it happens. So here he would be like a brother/protector until she is older. Renesmee also has her own choices as well and if she would choose Jake in the end.
@@duckielove2286 But it is because Jacob asks Edward if he should call him dad. That removes any presumption of innocence. That's not even getting into the ethics of becoming romantically involved with someone you've known since infancy who would have seen you as more of a parental or family figure and one who would have had authority over you. It might be her choice but her choice will be influenced by having spent her entire life being influenced by him
Roxy's confusion on the imprinting alone made this video worth it hahah. "By imprinting on Renesmee, Jacob has imbued her with protection from other werewolves in his tribe."
Loving y’all’s reactions! If you go back to the beach scene when Jacob and Leah are talking about imprinting, there is a brief shot of a guy, presumably a werewolf, sitting next to a little girl watching and pointing at the waves. I feel like this shot is supposed to briefly show a brotherly/protective bond that imprinting *can* mean, but definitely not communicated super well 😬 ALSO, the song that was playing during Bella and Edward’s vows is the same song that played when they danced at prom :) Many of your questions will be answered in part 2!! ❤

The cover for this book is the chess piece they used for the honeymoon. So yeah they recreate the book covers 😊

They probably should've shown that and explain it better lol
Not sure why she would have thought it was Jacob’s mother, they never even mentioned her throughout the entire series.
nah all idea of this being something inocent goes out the window when Jacob asks Edward if he should call him dad. It was unnecessary to have him imprint on the baby

The whole story of Twilight takes place over 2 years…that always blows my mind. 😂 Looking forward to the next part!! It’ll be a great reaction.

That Uncle Jacob imprinting the baby 😂😂😂 I loved how they reacted to it.
The way I cackled at the "there"/"their" edit!
Rosalie did not care about Bella, she wanted that baby. In the book Edward tells Jacob almost that exact thing.
So just to put some facts in the comments , some one might have already done this:
1) the “blood” they used to have Bella drink to become healthy was cream cheese and raspberry sauce. it was super disgusting actually to Kristen
2) THE WHOLE IMPRINTING THING: when jacob imprints on Renesemee (probably spelled that off) it’s to protect her and it was also not his intention.
Up
One slight correction, Imprinting doesn't slow down the aging of the wolves.
“I guess she licked it all” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 oh John!
The imprinting thing was so epic to see Roxy’s and John’s faces! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

@@daurydavis3983 yes and it's perfect!!!!!!!
"Is she gonna eat the baby?" I laughed so hard OMG 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What is the BEST Wedding Scene put to film???
The ones in "Four Weddings and a Funeral" are favs.
I love the Letters to Juliet’s wedding scene. I don’t think it was a book or anything but the movie’s letter writing group IS based on a real-life club. And I agree with @mimic1984 - the wedding from Pirates 3 is pretty great

And the bad lip readings
John looks traumatized with Jacob imprinting on reneesme😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
“No measure of time with you will be long enough, so let’s start with forever” Edward is just ✨💙
11:20 I loved how they transitioned from Sleeping At Last to Iron & Wine from their first dance at prom.
I haven't read Breaking Dawn in at least 12 years so some of my remembrance might be off, but I'm pretty sure that was Bella's motive for calling Rosalie.
the imprint realisation from you both was SOOOOOOOO GREAT hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣the shock! the repulsion! yesss!!
ROXY!!! You begged for Jacob to imprint… Be careful what you wish for 😂
I feel like Roxy and John weren’t present for the other movies with all the questions they had that was answered in the previous films 😂
THE ONE THAT IS IMPRINTED ON CHOOSES WHAT THE RELATIONSHIP WILL BE NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS.
I get what you are saying but Stepanie Myers didn't write it that way. It's essentially grooming until they are old enough to have romantic feelings and it's disgusting

I still can't believe they kept the whole Jacob imprinting on a baby thing. That is so messed up no matter how you try to present it.
It’s not meant to be a sick thing. You become whatever the person needs at the time it happens. So here he would be like a brother/protector until she is older. Renesmee also has her own choices as well and if she would choose Jake in the end.
So then an uncle and child must sicken you. You're the one thinking sexual. The only people upset are the ones projecting their dirty thoughts on it.
