I think you would like The Thursday Murder Club. Reading it is like having a cup of tea in a blanket straight from the dryer. Also, consider shopping at an independent bookstore. They have a lot of personality, good staff recommendations on shelves, and supporting them is so positive for the book industry.
You would Love Divine Rivals & Nora Goes off Script! They are not spicy! Just for the Summer is a great new release! The story is so beautiful & heart wrenching. It has a brief spice moment but not overly descriptive!
I’m not a book reader, except my Bible. But this channel and how much you love reading makes me want to start reading and loving books. I’m a slow reader and find myself rereading sentences sometimes, so hopefully after some time of getting into this new hobby I’ll be reading as many books as you in a month. Plus, the idea of having a cute book shelf filled with all the books I read sounds great lol.
After reading a book today, I thought it would be wonderful if Jess uploaded a book recommendation video. And here you are! Thanks, Jess 🥹❤️ I'm loving these videos.
I read a lot when I was younger. The past few years, I’ve been wanting to read again, but never really sat there and fully finished a book. After seeing your videos, it has inspired me even more to take the time to sit down and read a book all the way through. I’ve recently only been purchasing books because the covers are so pretty, but not actually reading them 😂
Okay I was so intrigued by the Vera Wong book and it’s included in Spotify premium!!! So I started listening to it on my walk this morning I think it’s gonna be a good one
I am solely a Kindle reader these days BUT when i used to read physical books and didn't know which one to read next, i would throw a couple books on the floor and then read whichever one my dog would touch first/be interested in the most 🤭 Now with the Kindle, i have 10+ books already downloaded and i ask whoever is around to "Pick a number between 1 and...." OR i use that number generator on google. 👌💖
Loved the video! Highly recommend “The seven year slip” was such a beautiful book I think you would love. Also I think based on your taste a good Colleen Hoover book for you could be “Regretting you” it’s a mother and daughter perspective which I’ve never seen before was super cool to read.
Also if you need a thriller rec, you might enjoy Such a Bad Influence by Olivia Muenter. It’s about a young influencer who goes missing suddenly during a live stream and her older sister, who is far removed from the world of influencing, tries to unravel the mystery of her sister’s disappearance and unpacks her own feelings about social media/online virality/her complicated family. The author is well versed in the world of social media influencing (being an influencer herself) so she fleshes out all the themes incredibly well as it’s kind of meta (like she’s in the world herself but is also pretty objective and can critique it too). A really good read!
I get so lost in bookshops 😅 it’s such a beautiful place though and super calming, I could spend hours just looking through books to just read at night or when I feel stressed or low 🥰🤍 xx
i love love your book videos!! 😍 im always looking forward to your monthly videos here and we’re really in for a treat to have a second one this month so far, thank you!! 😌🩷 my day is made!
I am not a book worm but I’m reading Just for the Summer right now and I love it so far!! So cool that you’re probably reading it right now too. I think you’ll love it
Kate Spencer is an ABSOLUTE GEM of a person (former co-host of the podcast Forever35 and journalist/comedian) and her two novels are really great. She also has a non-fiction book /memoir called The Dead Moms Club (which as the title suggests is sad but well worth a read).
My aunt is an author! Her name is Ber Carroll / B.M Carroll and she's living in Sydney, she just came out with a new book if you're interested which is a psychological thriller💛
Tom lake is a gorgeous book!! Seriously recommend if you want to dive into literary fiction which still includes some romance. Heavy on family themes as well
A really lovely/breezy romcom writer is Jenny Colgan - she is also a chef! so there's always sweet recipes and cosy/homey food elements strewn throughout her writing. It's just cosy all round. Summer Seaside Kitchen is a lovely one to begin with. It also won "Winner of the RNA Romantic Comedy Novel Award 2018" Happy reading sweet mama
One of my favourite genres is what I would call 'Feel Good Fiction' and (if you haven't read them already) I think you would love Fredrik Backman (Anxious People was my personal favourite, but A Man Called Ove was wonderful as well). A couple of others in the same vein would be Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman, The Thursday Murder Club Series by Richard Osman (I think these would be considered cozy mysteries), The Extraordinary Hope of Dawn Brightside by Jessica Ryn, The Authenticity Project by Clare Pooley, The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune and Here in the Real World by Sara Pennypacker. These are all fairly cozy books with a lot of emotion.
This was so fun! I love seeing your bookish content. 😊 P.S. As soon as I finished watching the video you uploaded on your main channel today I saw uploaded here as well and it made me so excited. You’re honestly one of my favorite RUclipsrs of all time. You make amazing content and you’re such a lovely person. ☺️
I wish you could be the narrator of these books! Your voice sounds so soothing and I could actually follow through the emotions. If that makes sense . Much love❤
You might like Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty! I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook and then I found out they had a series on Hulu too. (Plus the book is set in Australia!)
Ahh Jess!! I love this so much and I love your book content so much. You’re such an inspiration to me and so many other girls and I love these vlogs so much! Ilysm and I hope you’re having an amazing day 💕
If you read Emily Henry, I would definitely recommend starting with Beach Read! Book Lovers and People We Meet on Vacation aren't everyone's favorites of hers. Just wanted to mention in case you read Book Lovers and don't love it ☺
If you love crime/thriller/mystery, then I highly recommend The Housemaid series by Freida McFadden! Suspenseful and addictive short chapters! I could NOT put the first two books down (I haven’t yet read the third as it’s only just come out and is so hard to find) 😍
Hi Jess, I know you love f1 and I really want to recommend the Dirty Air series by Lauren Asher. It's a four book series in the f1 world where you read about different drivers and their love stories. They are a bit spicy but I really loved them. They also have short chapters 😊. I hope you will love them aswell
The Husbands is so good! I thought it was hilarious. It was a bit of a strange pick for me since I prefer romance, but I really did not want to put it down
I'm loving the book content! Vera Wong's unsolicited advice for murderers is on my tbr, hopefully I'll get to it soon because it sounds really interesting. Can't wait to hear what you think about it
JESS IN HER BOOK ERA.
TWO JESS VIDEO UPLOADS?! YES PLS
The book that has the endless supply of attic husbands is such a comical concept i’m immediately in 😂
appreciate the way she uploaded two vlogs in a roll 🩵
I love that you made a book channel, it’s my favorite content at the moment 😊
I think you would like The Thursday Murder Club. Reading it is like having a cup of tea in a blanket straight from the dryer. Also, consider shopping at an independent bookstore. They have a lot of personality, good staff recommendations on shelves, and supporting them is so positive for the book industry.
Yes I second this! I’ve read the whole series so far and it’s so wholesome with the senior citizens even though it’s a murder mystery!
couldn’t get any better than Jess and books
You would Love Divine Rivals & Nora Goes off Script! They are not spicy! Just for the Summer is a great new release! The story is so beautiful & heart wrenching. It has a brief spice moment but not overly descriptive!
Jess uploading two videos in one day? That’s the best day ever! 😍
Vera Wong was my favourite book I read last year!!! And just for the summer is my most recent 5 star read!!
You’re in for a treat with this tbr 🥰
The Reappearance of Rachel Price is sooooooo good!!!
I’m not a book reader, except my Bible. But this channel and how much you love reading makes me want to start reading and loving books. Loved the video! Highly recommend “The seven year slip” was such a beautiful book I think you would love. Also I think based on your taste a good Colleen Hoover book for you could be “Regretting you” it’s a mother and daughter perspective which I’ve never seen before was super cool to read.

I don't read books but watching this channel definitely makes me wish I was into them 😅 I just watch you cause you are so calm jess ❤
I loved Vera Wongs book! It was funny, cute and a good mystery! Keeps you guessing!
The Soulmate Equation was a five star read for me! It’s one of my favorite romance books, and it is so underrated!
Also if you need a thriller rec, you might enjoy Such a Bad Influence by Olivia Muenter. I do not read books at all... But Jess, i keep watching these videos for no reason at all, that's how much I love you and your videos 🩷💛

Also I was not a fan of “the Dinner List” but her book, “In five years” is sooo good
A really lovely/breezy romcom writer is Jenny Colgan - she is also a chef! so there's always sweet recipes and cosy/homey food elements strewn throughout her writing. It's just cosy all round.
