About to start a 3 hour drive and saw the notification. I immediately clicked it and will be listening to haley like an audiobook for the first 25 minutes lol
The fact that I’ve read 8 books almost 9 this year and you’ve read 21 makes me feel pretty good actually for someone who never reads. Like that’s a big difference but it’s more than a third! Currently finishing Queen of Shadows
you should do a video where you read a book that begins with every letter in the alphabet, like a book beginning with A, the with B, etc, etc. Love your videos!
i’m so glad you finally finished a court of silver flames!! it was a slow burn at times, but nesta’s character growth was amazingly beautiful. the sisterhood she finds herself accepting despite her lingering trauma is truly inspiring and is done very very well
she definitely might find some suggestions from tik tok but knows she doesn’t like spicy books, so she doesn’t gravitate towards them. Haley seems to be good at finding books that cater towards her tastes 🥰

First of all, I just wanna say that you are the reason I have been getting back into reading, so thank you! Also the new cut is cute! Second- my favorite books this year have been I’m Glad My Mom Died (speaks for itself) and Eragon as well as the sequel Eldest by Christopher Paolini. I don’t read a ton of fantasy but I have been REALLY loving these books! I recommend if you haven’t read them already, they are really easy to read and I feel the pacing is perfect! Fun fact- Christopher Paolini wrote Eragon when he was 15 and published it when he was 16 or 17!
i have been in such a book slump for basically this whole year. But, I am about halfway through the cruel prince and I am loving it so much i cant wait to read the entire series. I love your videos so much and Have gotten back into reading from watching them and getting book suggestions. I have watched pretty much every one of your videos since 2020. and every time your post i put everything down and watch it❤❤
The great gatsby is an amazing classic honestly, I love Fitzgerald's writing. Two other authors I always recommend in terms of classics are Osamu Dazai (Author of no longer human and more) and Lovecraft.
I have read 65 books this year mostly on my kindle. I was in a reading slump for 1 year and couldn’t read anything. Hayley helped me find books that cater to my tastes and I got back into reading running. Thank you Hayley ❤❤❤
BOOK SUGGESTION: The raven cycle! it is a 4 book long series and I can’t even describe the plot of this book but it is fantasy in modern day with some witch stuff. It is amazing and keeps you guessing

Haley! A book that I highly recommend that is similar to The Cruel Prince is Renegades by Marissa Meyer! It is a YA book that has such a good enemies to lovers romance that I think you will really enjoy! I absolutely loved it and we have similar reading tastes so I'm sure you will love it too ❤❤
Hey Haley!!!!!! Congrats on 1 million subs! Could you perhaps start saying what the ages for books you've been reading are? As a younger reader/ viewer, I think that I have a similar book taste as you do, but I don't want to accidentally read a book that is to mature for me ❤
I just finished A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. It was the first book I’ve read by him, but I really enjoyed it and will definitely be reading more, including Beartown.
i was so excited when you talked about emily wilde's encyclopedia i really want to read that book and loved your review, i love cozy romances so im super excited!

Always love a Haley video! I will say that I personally LOVED the apples never fall book so much more than the show. I love the long windedness of Liane’s writing.
A fun selection of books, thanks for sharing your reactions. About the definition of paranormal romance vs fantasy romance: here is what author Jeffe Kenned has to say, which is really to the point. "What distinguishes FR from PNR is that, FR owes a great deal to epic or high fantasy - just with more romance. PNR arose solidly within romance, so the genre is essentially a love story with paranormal features - so with werewolves or vampires or magic users. But, while the world may be a magical one, the story is still primarily a romance. Conversely, FR follows an epic or high fantasy arc, with a Hero’s Journey (usually belonging to the heroine!) where there’s a quest and political ramifications."
YAY HALEY POSTED! You should really read the Arc of Scythe trilogy by Neil Shusterman for a good five star read, its one of my favorites and the audiobooks are just awesome. HAPPY READING ❤
I love your videos. Some of the books you read I’m not allowed to read but I love that you don’t say to much because some are inappropriate for me. You videos make me so happy
I loved Nesta’s healing journey in a court of silver flames; it was a plus for me. People said it helped them overcome their own trauma a little. Some people get the book and some don’t. The romance was secondary. I liked Cassian he never gave up on her and he was such a great supporter ❤❤
Haley you are my comfort person/youtuber!! I just love your videos especially your book videos and will be buying your bookmarks soon. I love youuu sending love from Canada!! ❤
Hey Haley, you probably won't see this but have you heard that there is going to be a 2nd book to "Better Than the Movies"? It's called " Nothing like The Movies" and its coming out in stores on September 24th.
my favorite series that i read this year is the Shatter me series, no smut at all they just kinda mention that they’ve done the nasty. There is 3 different p.o.v but not always and in certain books but I think that’s why I loved it
Love that you read a classic, Rebecca. One of my favorite books and authors! One of the favorites I've read so far this year is The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes.
You should read A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman too!! Its like, you think you don't care much about the characters but then find yourself crying by the end of it and realize holy shit i actually really enjoyed this book
I was very upset because I'm sick and I'm gonna miss going to Church on Easter for the first time ever, but seeing Haley's video makes things a little better 😊
I think you might like regency historical romances. I highly recommend Lisa Klepas Wallflower series. It is not too dense and there are a lot of funny moments. Thank you for your book recommendations! I really enjoy you videos.
Ok I am LOVING your content! I just found you and watching your videos gets me so inspired to read at the end of the day. So far my favorite 2024 favorite read is The Picture of Dorian Gray. I can't stop thinking about it and talking about it with friends even though it's so dark.
Im so behind in my goodreads reading challenge which was 15 books. Had to change it to 12. Ive been picking up a lot of books that are out of my comfort zone in terms of genre and ive been in a slump where i cant seem to finish.
I really appreciate you being completely transparent about apples never fall even though you went to the show premier :) I know I can always trust your ratings and I appreciate you letting us know about spice
If you haven’t read this yet, I’d recommend Six Crimson Cranes! The romance is very minimal and no spice at all, but it’s the sweetest and most wholesome kind of romance I’ve read in a while ☺️
I enjoy ooey gooey cheesy romance with witty banter and a big pet peeve (personal) is when they go overboard on the spice. I prefer no spice and even slow burn with the physical touches because I want to be invested in the story. One of my favorite things about the Pride and Prejudice movie was how they never kissed until the end, it felt more sweet and tender.
As a long life classic girly and romance girly I need you to read some Austen over spring, especially if you're getting into classics. Especially Persuasion and Mansfield park, but all of them are great, would highly recommend and love to hear your thoughts! Also, in my opinion classics written by women are typically the way to go, (though most of them are a good vibe)
I feel like you’d love Melina Marchetta as an author. She has a fantasy series but also just some lit fic. Writes on lots of hard topics with such HOPE it’s so beautiful!! I’d recommend Finnkin of the rock or On the Jellicoe Road !!!
With Love From Cold World brought me back into reading, i just loved it. it was silly and fun but also had sub plots of serious backgrounds of well developed characters.
Book reccomendation here: The Baker's Man by Jennifer Moorman. It's about a young woman who ends up with her grandma's bakery and is given magic sugar and a recipe to build the perfect man.
The thing that’s weird is I LOVED if only I had told her, and didn’t really like if he had been with me the first time I read it. I sobbed during if only I had told her and didn’t cry incessantly during if he had been with me
Haley, please read the ''bonds that tie'' sires. I love you and your vlogs so much and I want to know what you think about this sires. please!!! I appreciate you so much and every time I want to read But I don't have the strength to read I'm just watching one of your videos and that motivates me so much! Thank you, for everything and every minute you invest in us.
Have you or Ryan read unbroken? I just started reading it, and it’s sooo good. It’s about a runner where everyone thinks he’s going to break the four minute mile and then he goes to the Olympics in Germany but Hitler there so … 😅😰 It’s awesome
I absolutely love all of your videos And i have been eyeing the prisoners throne for some time and when I saw that you rated it 5 stars I bought it immediately
When i was younger, growing up in the 90s, reading was considered a geeky thing, so I’m glad booktubers have turned that around. I hope nobody teases people at school for loving books. So far some of my favourite books are Emily Henry- she’s quite clean compared to a lot of other romance authors- Holly Black, Stephanie Garber, Lynn Painter, Sarah J Maas (only her second series though) and i really enjoyed A Novel Love Story. Some series you might like is Sweet Valley High, which were written in the 1980s (I loved SVH, still have all my old worn out copies of the original 80s books) and Fear Street by R L Stine (also published in the 1990s) You can get both series on Kindle, and probably in second-hand bookstores in America.
I’ve read 40 books so far this year but only 4 were 5 stars. Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee (book 3 in the Greenbone Saga) Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson (books 1 and 2 of the Stormlight Archive)- if you like fantasy and are intimidated by these due to their size- just give them a chance, they read really quickly- those pages just fly by.

Not every book has spice, tik tok just likes to highlight the smutty ones. So if that’s where your finding all of your TBR than good luck.
she definitely might find some suggestions from tik tok but knows she doesn’t like spicy books, so she doesn’t gravitate towards them. Haley seems to be good at finding books that cater towards her tastes 🥰
There are a lot of lesser known authors that don't write spice. I wish that those books got more coverage

Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee (book 3 in the Greenbone Saga)
Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune
The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson (books 1 and 2 of the Stormlight Archive)- if you like fantasy and are intimidated by these due to their size- just give them a chance, they read really quickly- those pages just fly by.
