- Labor Welfare Fund
- Income Tax / TDS
- PLI (Performance Linked Incentive), etc.
5. Understanding and difference between (Basic Salary / Gross Salary / CTC (Cost to Company).
Guys please ignore the esic deduction in the structure, ESIC should be deducted for the gross salary below or equal 21000.
Hi, yesterday i gave an interview. They told me.. That.. Basic salary is 10% of CTC... You said 40-50%.. How??
Its not Fixed, 40-50% is the standard rate, and 10% is not at all correct, if any company is doing so then its illegal and non compliance. And always make sure that the Basic salary should not be less than the Minimum wage of that state..

In Your example in this video as the Gross Salary is above 21000/- ₹ .
So You should not deduct any amount for ESI Contribution in both parts of EMPLOYEES or Employer.

At 13:46, you have wrongly calculated the gross salary as 35,000 which is the CTC. Later when calculating Employer contributions, you have adjusted the gross salary when the CTC didn't match. This confused me and may confuse others. Request you to please edit it.

No its not, it is just an example of salary structure, ESIC has been added to show the CTC structure completely..

If gross salary is more than 21000 then esi amount will be zero. Then there is no deduction from both end.

ESIC is not applicable as gross is more than 21k and bonus is applicable as basic is less than 21k ( if 20+ employees are there)
Gratuity is also part of CTC ( Employer contribution)
PF wages should be on gross - HRA ( if it is more than 15k)

In CTC gratuity is shows as 4.81% of Basic.

Please tell me how to calculate tax on fully tax heads and partlly tax heads
Its too much confusing, why we are playing with figures on assumptions, easy way is always do the back calculation, first find out gross from ctc and thn go straight put all components as per %. Esic ceiling limit is 21k gross so why we are deducting esic on 35k. bonus and gratuity was there in example but u didn't calculate that. Actually its giving half knowledge to freshers which is not good.
