Thanks for 500 subscribers! Super stoked to be making Warhammer videos, it makes the hobby more interesting for me and I hope that it's entertaining for you.
Nearly 2k hours. Vt2 is my favorite game of all time. It’s held my attention like nothing else, I really wish it was more mainstream, it truly is a rare gem. Thanks for making this video.
I think the funniest thing is that the average Warhammer really dislikes the Endtimes because of the lore, character assassination, yada yada yada but also really likes Vermintide specifically and all that comes with it
Actually at first i also couldn't get into Warhammer vermintide 2 and when I first played it amazing it blew my expectations away the game is a AAA experience blast.
I think the only reason I didn't get into it was because OF the long queue times. When I bought it I was like "Oh hey, fantasy L4D. Started the game, played the tutorial... and then waited a half an hour to get a match only to have those people that I matched with leave the moment we loaded in.
Oh wow! Typically for the lower difficulties I have no issues finding other players. One thing that could be a factor is connection because the game is peer to peer. I'm sorry you had that experience.
thats probably because when you queue for quick play you can only get into maps youve unlocked. manually select the maps you havent completed yet, and it'll increase the maps you can search for
My 3300 hours in this game are the best hrs of gaming i've had.. there's no game that even comes close. Such amazing fun with friends and going into modded to turn up the heat is such a great journey
Tried some Vermintide, personally liked Darktide more. One thing Fatshark could really do for both games is make it more alt friendly. I've got 2 max lvl characters, currently leveling a third one, and not having any kind of xp boost once you've reached the max lvl gets sluggish fast.
Not sure about darktide but in vermintide not really? It took me 1-2 months of very calm and enjoyable games. Plus games losing a lot when youve full accsess to everything finally.
Never played - maybe I'll pick it up while waiting for Elden Ring DLC instead of going through my 5th playthru. Only $6 right now too. Looks really fun and liked the way you laid it out in the video. Although, oddly seems like there are some good games right now in Enshrouded and Palworld.
There are some bangers coming out this year that I'm really looking forward to. I hope we get news of Elden Ring DLC, but I'm also looking forward to Space Marine 2, Avowed, and Last Epoch.
I totally agree, game is really a great hidden gem, but ive a few moments which spoil it for me a bit: 1) Somehow its super hard to find people to play with. Not randoms, but any team. I tried several times. People just seems not interested 2) that game killing your mouse 💀. Especially with fast weapons. Never in any game i clicked so much. And i dont know how to solve that issue honestly. 3) Would be nice if game had more random and variety. Like twitch mod, but more logically. I maybe spoiled, but just more variety would be good. Especially in build and ways to play. But thats required talents reworks + weapons reworks and game just not in base open for big melee variety among weapons i guess. 4) would be nice if we could use mission modifires from special missions freely for bonuses. Id love to fight in special terms like huge huge hordes.
It was 5.99 on steam this weekend. I hopped in and was the spaniard looking dude. Played for 3 hours, found a rare and some cool loot. Still learning but i had fun, the rat ogres were my fav
Great video! Vermintide veteran here, I moved on to Darktide when it came out. Then it was like WTF they implemented NONE of the lessons learned from Vermintide, it was a total dumpster fire until October of '23 when the skill trees came out. It's still a work in progress, and hopefully they engage with the 800lb "crafting" gorilla soon. It remains to be seen if they can indeed do something good with Darktide instead of just milking whales. They waited so LONG to make the last Sienna career and then completely jumped the shark making her a necromancer, which imo was TERRIBLE and STUPID but it falls right in line with all their terrible decision making lately (how they turned Darktide into a mobile gaccha game fishing for MTX whales etc). Once I heard they were making Sienna, my old dear friend and Bright Wizard, a necromancer, one of the most evil and vile characters of Warhammer fantasy, I haven't played it since. Kruber , Saltz, Kerillian, and Bardin are just going to accept this abomination into their ranks? Then to top that off they release a "balance patch" without player testing or feedback and just nerfed the shit out of things that A. weren't necessary or B. so long overdue and heavy handed you might as well delete the shit out of the game (javelin). developer issues or not, vermintide 2 is a fun and rewarding game and I wish more people that play Darktide had played it so they would understand melee combat but here we are.
I mean they made Kruber into a grail knight so I think they've gone off the rails long before then. It's insulting though, yeah, I feel like Necromancer was chosen exclusively to appeal to redditors. Just insane
Sienna being dubbed a "Necromancer" is a huge missed opportunity. I would have preferred for her to be called a "Spiriter" so that they could introduce the Amethyst Order.
There are not that many games that I have more than 100 hours on. A slightly smaller number of them I still play. Those include though not limited to Darktide, Vermintide 2, Star Wars: Empire at War, Halo Master Chief Collection, Lord of the Rings Online, FTL: Faster Than Light, Castle Crashers, Team Fortress 2, Darkest Dungeon, & Smash Bros Project +. Could probably throw in a couple games from when I was very young. I should really play a bit more VT2. I was mostly trying to get good offline soloing things with handmaiden spear & shield for a while. I haven't played the vs mode yet either.
I just don't understand why Fatshark is competing with itself for player count with Vermintide and Darktide. Many of my friends who used to play Vermintide refuse to do so anymore, only wanting to play Darktide. They knew this would likely happen, as 40K is more popular than Fantasy, yet they're still giving updates to Vermintide? Doesn't make much sense to me.
I have had Vermentide since release, my friends basically made me buy it. Tried it, played a little bit, but never stayed. Fantasy setting just don't appease to me. On the other hand - i spent countless time in Darktide, really like aesthetic and it's style
@@vokkera6995 Warhammer fans are the minority of the people playing the tide games though. The overwhelming majority of players are simply people who love this genre that has barely anything to select from other than L4D2 and DRG. The miniscule updates to Vermintide 2--like the additional classes and some redone maps--is to pump the playerbase up and, based on their own maths, probably rakes in some decent money during sales.
I keep playing V2 just because Darktide still doesn't have a solo mode. I've leveled up all my characters, its fun with people, but at the end of the day solo was promissed a month after launch, and now they treat it like its this puzzle of a feature that may or may not be in the works. V2 Cataclysm solo runs are some of the most badass things to watch and do, and even some lower difficulty solo runs blasting some music feel so good when you just wanna do your thing.
1500h, red skin on every weapon on every character, just missing some random challenges. I'm no longer playing it because I've basicaly done everything on the game and while fun, after 1500h it does get repetitive, I'm doing every mission on autopilot at this point.
At this point I've played Darktide twice as long as I have Vermintide. Personally I'm a bigger sci fi fan than a fantasy one. Though I'll be the first to admit it wasnt until the most recent October update where the game felt "1.0" It felt like an incomplete game before that point, and I still yearn for the day Darktide will be as feature complete as Vermintide. This is me essentially admitting Vermintide is a better game than Darktide, though I hope Darktide catches up.
That's the reason I picked up VT2 instead. The consensus among genre fans seems to be that DT isn't as good as VT2... yet. I'm juiced to jump in once it becomes more feature rich.
Not sure I want to spend 106 euros on Steam for the bundle since I played the 1st but never the 2nd. I think it is too late. I should wait for the 3rd.
The game will often go on sale. I would wait for an event like the Steam Summer Sale and hop in. I’m not sure how long you’d be waiting for a Vermintide 3!
back when I last played closer around launch, its a bit repetative, when my friend and I got high end there was pure RNG for any gear progression so we just lost hope repeating the maps we did, needing the legendary upgrades. we are wow players. -we just didnt like the blind faith towards upgrades I think. but the combat is cool. we literally forgot why we didnt like it, until we grinded 3 maps and no upgrades no upgrades. and we went 'oh yea, now i remember' progress felt dumb
You know, this is kind of strange to me. I've also played a ton of WoW during the various stages of the game and I have to say that during Vanilla/Classic and in Retail your progress is HEAVILY dictated by RNG. Both versions of the game feature weekly lockouts that put a cap on your progress, you can't gear out after a new patch releases in a week of playing the game. This is one of the main reasons why I put MMORPG's down, I got really tired of these mechanics that existed only to make you log in on a frequent basis and artificially increase engagement with those types of games. In Vermintide 2 nowadays your skill is rewarded. Consistently completing maps in Legend or Cataclysm difficulty gives you Veteran (the highest rarity) items fairly often. You could reasonably knock this grind out in a day if you were dedicated / skilled enough.
If you like a good, long grind then you’ll definitely enjoy it solo. Leveling and gearing each of the characters takes a really long time but you’re going to want to do that because they act as bots if you aren’t playing with other people. All that being said, you almost want to queue into Quickplay when you’re just getting started because you can learn from other players. All of the classes are definitely viable. This game is heavily skill based and it can be challenging to get used to.
