Ok, so it had been years since i made a potato bake and finally did 2 weeks ago... mix of white and sweet spuds... didn;t know what i did wrong as there was so much oil in pain after cooking... 1. used thickened cream 2. use 600ml instead of 300ml.... explains so much..... i did the mix it with french onion soup sort and yeah couldn't work out why it went so wrong. Just thinking: I wonder if the butter cubes of fat prevented the thickened cream from splitting? I know everyone loves their baked tats for Christmas lunch etc but I think your bake would be a sensational replacement!
