These compact amps are a great way to bring in new customers. I believe one of the biggest con for people who stay out of car audio is that car audio takes up a lot of cargo space in their vehicles. Thanks for another good video.
Boom boxes?? The output power HAS to come from somewhere, it isn't magic. For a boom box with amplifiers like this, it would need about 16 D-cell batteries, and they'd last about 5 minutes. We already have PLENTY of tiny, powerful, amplifier I.C.'s that we could be using in boom boxes, but we dont have the battery technology to power them for long and make it portable.
@@davelowets I'm running a pioneer double din, power acoustic razor 2500, 4 4" dayton audio mids as subs and two 3.5 speakers off an 18ah lifepo4 battery that's smaller than the radio and it will last for over two hours on full tilt.
@@cdashpcp I am sure there is a reason for those regular amps as in being heavy duty use. I am not so sure how these would hold up for people that like to push the limits beyond 80 watts. I am sure there are people that won't go hard on these small amps and that is the market they are made for. My suggestion for buying a few more would be for people to use not to stress a single amp to death.
I’m running one of their 500 watt single channel amp in my Plex Audio shell, powering two 6.5” Kicker speakers on my Harley. It’s so loud and clear! I highly recommend their products.
with tiny amps like these being cheap and extremely small, headunits should have them stock in them!! imagine a true 50w rms per channel headunit. would be a game changer

For a class D chip amp pushing 20W into 8 ohms 90+% efficient, needing minimal heatsinking this is about as big as you would expect without power supply. Onboard 36v boost is all that is required. Seriously it looks impressive until you think about it. There are hundreds of chip amp boards available that would fit in a tiny package. When you get to over 50W into 8 ohms the little packages dry up.
Pretty impressive stuff! Amazing how far the tech has gone to make them so tiny. Would be perfect in a budget build on a smaller vehicle. Also, I bet you could hit up Monstercat to get some licensing for their music, a lot of bass heavy tracks on that label. I dunno, think it would be cool lol.

2x TPA3116D2 running in PBTL which is what allows 2 Ohm operation.. the IC is a 2ch IC, but your able to tie them together for double the current. so each IC is driving just 1 speaker
i took electronics in highschool and for a project we had to make a amp mine was around 166 and was a lil bigger it amazes me some of the stuff they are doing now that i was thinking of years ago lol
5:10 The Stetsom was definitely louder here overall, and the highs sounded cleaner at the higher volume, but the higher bass sounded noticeably more controlled from the head unit to me.
That Pioneer would be lucky to be putting out 5 watts per channel at volume 40, should be able to push it to 60 without distortion unless he has put at the bass settings up. I think he wasn't pushing it as those Pioneers do 22wrms @ 4 ohm per channel so yes still only half the power of the Stetsom.
I think the most useful application for the tiny Amp, would be to power a set of quality 6×9's in the rear deck. It would save some real estate for the sub amps. But that's just me, as I'm always driving an older model car that has a rear deck. Lol.

That lil guy most likley is powered by 2 texas instruments tpa3116d2 amps, i got 2 of them in my powered bass knob with bluetooth butine does not have built in step up converter like the one in vid does, so my needs to run on external one at 27v out

Why are you not using the amp dyno? You cant pull more than the fuse is rated to blow. Might be loud enough to get the job done, but that's far from being its claimed power. 60x2 rms is probably what it really is..
Sounds great 🔊💯🫡..I had the Taramps TL500 on my stock radio for about a year and a half. I notice the sound is distorted at a certain point. Looks like I’m going to have to upgrade to the Stetsom 160.2 🫡
I have the 4 channel version of this amp, 400.4, hooked to 2 6x9 and a 12" 350w sub. It hits pretty hard... I actually had to lower the gain for the sub because wsd just too much bass for my girlfriend.. lol. I've had a couple of Alpine amps, a Boss amp, AudioPipe, so I know what a good amp is. The Stetsom is not as powerful, but It's hard to believe so much power comes out of it. No problems in 2 years of use.
@@nairongruendling4434 I was gonna buy either the 440x4 or the 800x4. Question about your 400x4, have you noticed any class D noise coming through the amp? Like a hiss out of your tweeters? I've heard that some cheaper class D full range amps don't have as good output filtering and let some switching noise through, its generally a very faint hiss that you can only really hear through tweeters. That's what kinda drew me away from them, cause I read a couple reviews about that but a lot of people say there's no hiss, like in this video, but idk lol. I guess the only way is to test, I'll see if I can find someone locally to test first and see.
@@00000005547 No hiss. Mine makes no noise. It is great for the size and cost. Sure, it is not as good as a mono amp from the likes of Alpine, RF, JBL, when trying to power a sub, but it works. It is a great little amp to enhance a factory system, when replacing stock speakers. Can't go wrong

These little guys feel like the best way to modify vehicles with those 20+ speaker setups. Add a bunch of these using line level inputs and swap out individual speakers. You'd build an excellent setup for balance, then use a nice line level converter to add your subwoofers. This could be an insane setup that's also very clean.
I should buy that, I've got a 2x 5inch 100w woofer enclosure on my electric mountainboard and I'm designing a deeper bass enclosure for riding with beats stronger than a basic Bluetooth boombox

Heck yeah I use the 2.1 channel little Chinese amp boards on Amazon for $60.00 there push 220w to both full range channels and there is a subwoofer spot with 350w plus there are a good bit of setting and they have Bluetooth and the 3.5mm aux input

Can this thing bring out more bass from a skar 6.5 4ohm 300watt loud speaker? I want more bass from them because I've read that they can put out a lot of bass, but i installed them and they barely even make the doors vibrate. Im not a car stereo guy myself and I bring my car to a shop to wire stuff.I upgraded my door speakers on an 07 pilot that I bought with a somewhat "newish" JVC double din stereo.I put JBL Club 6.5 speakers and they sound excellent in moderate volumes.Cranking it will garble the sound however.Im thinking if I can up the watts to 45 WPC,the speakers wont sound choked up.I just didnt want to risk paying $150.00 on an install the will not give enough power,or break after a few months.

Those amps are great. They literally fit anywhere, including behind the deck. I love them.
Just the right size to use for a starting setup for those that don't want to go with big amps. Buy a few of them and go to town.

Awesome little amp. I have an old Eclipse EA1412 amplifier I use for running my mids and highs. Nice to see some other little up to date options.

It is a chip amp, but there's nothing really wrong with that tbh.
