- Bryan Hayes, Jonas Siegel and Jason Strudwick are joined by TSN Host James Duthie to discuss how monumental is the quarterfinal game against Venezuela, how Tajon Buchanan’s injury impact the team, the lack of media and fans that will be in attendance for the Canada, Venezuela game, a behind the scenes look at Free Agent Frenzy and more. The boys also chat about the heat on the Toronto Blue Jays management and coaching staff this season and do you trust this group to make big decisions on the roster prior to the trade deadline. They are also joined by Los Angeles Kings forward Warren Foegele to discuss the quick turnaround in making a decision in free agency, what lessons from his Cup run with the Oilers will he bring to the Kings, the decision to go to LA and stay in the division with his former team, playing with Drew Doughty, his summer plans in Muskoka, Ontario, the Hayes is a Fraud phenomenon and more.

Canada has a chance for 2 more games with a good performance tonight. But I would be shocked if they got better than 4th. They will have to beat the defending Copa America and World Cup champions to do it. Assuming they lose then have to beat another very good team to stay on the Podium. A semi final appearance at Copa America would be a phenomenal step for Canada for 2 years from now.
WIn or lose now, this tournament has been an absolute success. Canada has managed to play all 6 possible matches, so not only will they compete against Argentina for a semi final berth, they will later get to potentially play one of Colombia, Brazil, or Uruguay for either a cup or a 3rd place medal.
They have maximized every possible bit out of this tournament, couldn't have gone any better for the CSA.
Not likely they win. But they have already accomplished a lot and exceed most people's expectations. If they did somehow beat Argentina, it would be one of the greatest upsets in football and maybe sports history.
Canada has to start finishing on it's scoring chances. They need to score more if they hope to move on.
Let's be honest, it won't matter. This is Argentina we're talking about. They're only the reigning CONEMBOL and FIFA champions, not a big deal, eh? 😁
@@AvroBellow No one is unbeatable.
I just checked out strudies stats...a real scoring machine
Canada can definitely win this tourney, just going to need the field to completely ice up. What's the weather forecast?
They're playing in Giants Stadium, not Anchorage, so we're screwed.
@@AvroBellow 😢
the thing with most sports now is that everything can be done with AI. the playing field is normalized now in terms of teams but the nations interest will vary.
It’s insane to think of that $765 mil when you compare it to nfl or nba contracts. On the soccer note in relations to hockey contracts changing, I think it would be cool to look into the big nhl and soccer agents and compare how those worlds are different
Dont they get Argentina in the next round? What's changed from like last week?
i dont think they'll beat the argentines but they kind of figured out the positioning and are playing better long balls.
They do and they will get bodied again by Argentina most likely. Their only chance is penalties imo
The fact they get to face Argentina again helps the team. They wont be overwhelmed by the occasion and prospect of playing the world champions this time. They already know what to expect, and have see that Argentina ARE vulnerable.
@@ThePalisky Even then with Martinez in goal it's almost impossible.
@@michaelalexander5350 true, but at least the odds are better
Canada doing a Greece 2004
Excited that Canada 🇨🇦 won!!! As an American, we need Canada to go as far as possible! GGG needs to lose his job
Oh he will, but I'm sorry my Yankee friend, you can't have Jesse Marsch back. He's ours! 😁
Why are you talking about free agency frenzy? I thought this was about soccer.
If you legitimately think canada can beat Argentina, Brazil or colombia, well, I think you're delusional. It's already a mission accomplished by canada getting to the semis. Don't put unnecessary expectations on them.
I don't. I love my team but I have a firm grasp on reality. The only ones who can beat Argentina are themselves. We can't win against Argentina, we can only hope that they lose against us.
Venezuela is actually more into baseball than soccer. Though i dont know by how much.
Their top 2 sports are soccer and baseball.
Canada is a world power in the following sports:
Hockey, Baseball, (Gridiron) Football, Basketball, Lacrosse and Curling.
We are not, not have we ever been, a world power in soccer.
LMAO
Dreaming in the broad daylight.
Why not .? 1 we are faster younger and stronger than all the south American teams .there gased playing us .we have to learn how to finsh we should of won 3 nill v.s Venezuela. And dont talk about the reffs .i will leave it at that .
OMG when are you going to let Struddy participate in this discussion?
They can win they just need to bench Larin and not play Millar.
They can win for sure!!! Go Canada!!! What worries me is the officiating, it is clearly paid off
Sure, we can win... and I can win the 6/49 next week but it's not going to happen. This is Argentina, the WORLD CUP champions. They don't need paid-off refs to thrash us. This isn't hockey, this is soccer and that means we basically suck compared to the elite teams.
Here's the tier rankings as I see them:
Tier 1 - Elite teams:
Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
@@AvroBellow nice of you to write a whole essay. Vegas odds show Canada as a 5-1 underdog, it wouldn't be the craziest upset.
Canada needs to invest $$$ into Soccer ... this is the World Game .. The Beautiful Game .. were on the stage. were winning This does more to promote Canada then anything else .. anything ... build the youth program like France did
As much as I get your sentiment, that's not going to happen. We have far more pressing matters than how good our soccer program is. You know, things like our housing crisis... Things that make soccer look absurdly unimportant.
Soccer is a game and real-life takes precedence EVERY time.
I love James Duthie and I will always love James Duthie but he's clearly on the same drugs he was on when he was flirting and drooling over Maria Sharipova when he was a guest line judge.
"I can be your hero baby!" - It will never get old.😁
Nobody is going to be able to beat Argentina in this tournament, not Canada, not Colombia nor Uruguay. Unless they self-destruct, Argentina is invincible.
Till soccer is life and a religion in Canada and interconnected to our culture enjoy this blimp
We will .
Do you mean "blip"?
Of course Canada can win but the referees will try to decide the outcome. If Canada can finish all their chances they have a chance to go further. Again all teams have to respect each other. I don’t think they think they can win Copa America don’t put words in their mouths. Team refuses will not allow that to happen.
You're delusional. Sure, we technically CAN win but in the same way that I can technically win next week's 6/49 and it has NOTHING to do with the officiating. We're completely out of our league here, literally.
This is Argentina we're talking about here, you know, the WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS? Nobody in this tournament is a threat to them, except maybe themselves. If they self-destruct, we MIGHT have a chance but that's not going to happen. I don't think that we'll even be able to defeat Brazil for third place.
Don't be conformist guys
Canada is like the leafs!!! They can't score goals in the playoffs!!!!
Canada will get bounced like the leafs always do
womp womp go home
aging poorly. not too late to delete
leafs have americans we dont
