  • In 1984 a pretty ordinary movie called "Savage Streets" was released. On the soundtrack Australia's own John Farnham contributed a track called "Nothing's gonna stand in our way".... for which no music video exists. So I made one using cut-ups of the movie.
I make no claims to either the song or the visuals, this is simply a fan-made video.

This is a bad ass movie!!!!!!!!!!!! It's about having courage in one -self and not taking any shit from anyone no matter how much they try to hurt you or someone you love.

I always thought this was a song from Transformers: The Movie. But now I just saw Savage Streets. Both versions are excellent. This song really should have been far more popular with far more people. I've heard that in Australia it actually is popular and that the soundtrack to Savage Streets is very valuable.

John Farnham was brilliant on the savage streets soundtrack.

My thoughts exactly. When I heard this song, it triggered memories of "Transformers: The Movie"! Though Savage Streets came 2 years prior. Still, this was quite a find.

While I'm more used to the Transformers version, I've recently embraced this version too! if I could mod the soundtrack of my racing games (Gran Turismo, Forza Motorsport/Horizon, Need for Speed, etc.), THIS is one of many countless songs I would add to the race bgm! Seriously, ANYONE with a really fast car that can exceed 200 mph would LOVE to go rocketing down an empty highway with a song like this blasting out the stereo! Even thinking about it, I can feel an intense adrenaline rush surging through my veins like electricity through a wire, and I'm in tears of joy from the sensation! It's like I WANNA DRIVE WAY OVER THE SPEED LIMIT!

When I saw this movie on video at 13 in 95 I thought “oh my god it’s the song from transformers the movie” as I saw the transformers movie in theaters at age four in St. Louis theaters and had soundtrack since

Interesting, my reaction on seeing Transformers is that this was the song from Savage Streets!
Fordham and Stan Bush are friends, they apparently wrote the Rad soundtrack together.

I'm so used to the Spectre General version from Transforners.
I don’t really like Farnham's original, but I never heard it before now
    So, great upload, thanks!

Yeah. there's definitely "additions" made in Spectre General's (real band name: Kick Axe) version that give it audibly iconic moments. Sort of how Hybrid's "Finished Symphony" becomes WAY better with the additions brought by Sasha and Digweed's version.

You gotta admit, that while the backing is weak, that voice is incredible!

That ending felt more like Instruments of Destruction...
