  • So you now know the slackline basics and are able to walk a small line in the park. Congratulations!! What's next? What comes after the mastery of the small park line??? Check out this video for an in depth introduction to the realm of longlining. Unlike small lines, these are much longer and are usually rigged in lengths longer than 50 meters long. These are many of the same ideas that I was taught when first starting and I think they could help you out as well! With a little bit of practice, you too can make this a second nature thing in your life!

    Gear list:
    - Webbing with a sewn loop
    - Soft release (10 meter piece of webbing and two steel shackles)
    - Weblock and shackle
    - 2 anchor ropes/slings
    - Pulley system with linegrip
The only negative thing that I can think of is that you will get extremely addicted and won't want to do anything else!
I hope this video helps! Please leave a comment with any thoughts or questions :)

hey alonso, really great video and content. thank you for that. i would like to mention just one thing. if you have a backup line in the park, attached to the main line, it`s maybe not the best thing for beginners. if you struggle at the end of your power, maybe you can tangled in the backup while you try to jump off. this can cause really bad accidents. i hope you get what i mean. keep up these videos. they are great. #slacklife

You’re absolutely right Paul. I only had the backup on because I was too lazy to un-tape.
I’ll definitely make that clear in my next longline series video 😊 Thank you for the input!

      Great video!
Do you find thats there is a benefit to training with a backup in the park however for highlining ( getting use to the extra weight/ wobble)?

any drawbacks with doing one knee drop start on longline

The only drawback that I can really see from this Mount is that it’s a 2 step process. This could make highline freestyle difficult later down the road but I’m not sure if you even want to get into that. Just make sure not to put too much weight on a bent knee and to actually activate your quads when you’re in this mount. This will avoid long term knee pain.
