Im about to weave a web in my trucks ladder rack which is a steel frame. I am curious as to what the benefit of adding a perimeter rope that the oaracord is woven to instead of tieing the weave directly to the frame. Is there any issues with weave to a rigid perimeter or will that work? The only thing i can think of is that it wont have as much bounce to is since the perimeter is solid but am i missing something?
Thats great for my treenet rock climbing handles
great vid i subbed, could you do a video about like fences or stairs or miscellaneous stuff like that?
Can these be moved without dismantling?
great placement
Might just be me but I was super confused for a while because I was learning the knot from the diagram included in your video and then checking it was correct by following along with you doing it in the video but they are in different directions. This is for the constrictor. I’m moving to the next knot now, so haven’t checked the diagrams direction for any others vs the video yet.
Oh man good catch and thank you for the comment 😊😅 Hopefully others don’t get too confused.
“For years, one of my hobbies has been knot-tying, but I had never heard of a spacenet here in Belgium. How cool is this? Thank you, Alonso, for introducing me to my new favorite hobby!”👍👌
Anytime!! Get after it and have fun 😊🙌🏼
I can tell that you are speaking from experience. The advice you're giving answers questions I wouldn't have thought to ask (until after I made the mistakes myself😂). Thank you for this tutorial, you're awesome man! I do have one question, since keeping static tension is so valuable, why is paracord used at all? Would it not be better to be static rope throughout?
You’re absolutely welcome! 😊 Some people definitely prefer a more static system but then you miss out on the fun bouncy-ness that a treenet can have 🙌🏼
Amazing
Thank you! 😊🫶
Great tip man! What kind of pants are those? 👀
in my opinion loose lines are more predictable
Really looking forward to the more detailed video. This one got me really excited to try this! The beginning of the video was awesome, but everything went to pieces after showing how the spacers looked.... showing how to set up and tension the perimeter will be helpful!
Haha, I left a branch over the net too!
Nice!!! 😊
Great refresher on knots! Im about 12 feet up into a tree now tying platforms ❤
Nice! 😊🙌🏼
Very close to my first one
Awesome!!
I’ve also discovered a hack that I don’t think you’ve shown in any of your vids, yet heard a hint, you’ll love it!
Oooh I’m interested 😊
I’d love to share my treenet pics and progress with you, Alonzo. Do you have an email or something?
Share them on our discord! 😊 You can find the link in the video descriptions!
Great vid, great knots, great lifestyle! I’m into my project at last!
Sweeeet! 😊
A tip I just figured out doing it myself, if you are running the rope through an eye loop you can just leave the eye loop not screwed in all the way, bounce on the rope a little to get it stretched out, pull it tight and tie it around the eye loop and then screw the eye joint in until it’s fully tense, worked for this small one at least
I’m not sure I understand… Join our discord and show some photos 😊😊😊
Is this your main job? If so how do you do? I’ve been thinking it would be so cool to get into a specialty kind of job like that
Side hustle 😊
Hi, would you ever use a truckers hitch to pull out tension?
Yes absolutely! It’s not as good as pulleys but it can get the job done in a pinch 😊
Would love to see more, love your weaves!
Thank you!! More is coming 🙌🏼
Looking great!
Thank you!!
Because of you I have built a small tree net at my property for my grandkids...justvworking on sides for it.
½" x 4" eye lags with shackles/carabiner connectors are a lot better concerning long term tree health with nets. Just be minful to keep your lags at a minimum, and don't place two in close proximity with one another. Lags one foot apart on the same limb/trunk is acceptable. Do not drill into a branch collar!! 6" above a branch collar or 6" below one is fine. 🤓
Thanks for your wisdom!!! 😊😊
🤠WHITE BOY SUMMER🤠
🤣🤣🤣
I want to tell you that you inspire me to weave one of these beauties. I live in Florida so right now all these storms are stopping me but I will get to one I'm building up my supplies
Awww that’s really nice! Thank you so much!! Best of luck on your journey 😊😊
muy buenos videos Alonso! Felicidades!
Thanks you so much for the video, greetings from chile.
Shouldn't the line "bite" itself (to hold the tension) more than once? Otherwise if it slides out you can lose all the tension in a fraction of second and it's not safe. At least that's how we used to rig it. Safety matters
Yes technically but the munter mule is the backup to the bights
Just began spinning and weaving my space net/web for a hangout space in my greenhouse. Thanks for sharing these videos...its been delivered with my appreciation to your skill and knowledge.
Goodluck!!! Glad the videos are helping 😊
Good job!
Thank you!
I want to try this. Thank you for the information
Klemheist
if I want my spacenet to hold approximately 1000 lbs. Will the materials in this video suffice?
Yes 😊
best tip is knowing where the parachord plug is
Www.paracordgalaxy.com use code “treenet” at checkout!
That kinda looks like a bit of a tripping hazard though? It’s hard to tell how spaced out the little holes are though but I cant imagine face planting on that would be very difficult
The holes are small enough to not trip 😊
Buterfly knot is my lersonal fave, although sheel shanks are lots of funt too
Wow
Hey Alonso, looking good! I've woven some small stuff, and now some BIG weaves too... all thanks to your videos Thanks for the reminder to always re-visit the basics. Keep it up your channel rocks!!
Thank you!! Glad the videos help 😊🤘
When you pull the tension in, then let go, the slack just goes back to its semi original state. With this set up, are those capturing pullys? Perhaps could add a gri gri, or temporarily the tie off the pulley. Or what other ways can we keep that tension set? Especially with a solo rig. Thanks!
These pulleys have a capture in it to hold all the tension but yes you are correct 😊 You need something that holds tension
Dude that’s really cool too bad I live in a suburban neighborhood
That is so cool
One more question (for now) - we have a saucer swing that the center fabric has disintegrated over time. I thought this would be a great way to reuse the frame and let the kids continue enjoying it. I'm assuming that the theory would be the same, just smaller, right?
Yes absolutely! Have fun 😊
Love your videos, can’t wait to get started planning out and building my first treenet for our kids! Growing up my brother and I built some rope bridges and some very basic rope nets in our favorite climbing tree, watching your videos brings back some fond memories! On another note, I hope it’s okay to ask, but what happened to some of your fingers? Was that from building tree nets over the years or something else? Any tips you would recommend to avoid pinch points?
Haha it’s absolutely okay to ask! I was born this way 😊 Avoid pinch points by doing the tension part of your treenet very carefully! That’s where you’re most likely to sustain injuries
Pretty cool
I love the chaos method. I just weave in my bedframe for practice… lol!
Oooh that’s a great tip! 😊
Hey Alonzo, Thanks so much for the videos. While Ive learned a lot from all of your vids, seeing you demonstrate first-hand is really helpful. One question that I have - I see that you are tying a knot that doesnt appear to be a clovehitch for the start of each weave(attaching to the skeleton rope), what knot are you using here?
Constrictor Hitch and Barrel Knots are the only other knots I use 😊 I hope this helps!
@@treenetweaves Thanks so much for the info!
very nice vid
Black is the best color, because it’s usually cheapest!
