    This is the video I have been looking for for YEARS.
    I started my rope life sailing so a Bowline is important to me.

    Wooo! finally a video strictly on tensioning a full loop. I think I ended up coming up with this same solution using ratchet straps as you said. but damn the pulleys looks so easy.
    personally a fan of the trucker's hitch for its self tensioning and easy release

    One of my favorite knots to use is the truckers hitch, you can technical.y use it for a tree net if you don't have any tools but it doesn't get a lot of tension

      @@treenetweaves ohhh I see it’s not like the prusik/etc because it’s used with the end of a rope, not a closed loop. Essentially does the same thing as autoblock in the end though

    When you pull the tension in, then let go, the slack just goes back to its semi original state.
    With this set up, are those capturing pullys?
    Perhaps could add a gri gri, or temporarily the tie off the pulley.
    Or what other ways can we keep that tension set? Especially with a solo rig.
    Thanks!

    • @treenetweaves
      @treenetweaves  Месяц назад

      These pulleys have a capture in it to hold all the tension but yes you are correct 😊 You need something that holds tension

    if you just have rope and no gadgets, a rolling hitch will grip rope and tension it, or the old truck drivers load tying trick, the dolly knot

    Just so you guys know, you need to use at a minimum, 1 inch webbing to make the perimeter on the trees otherwise the rope will cut in to and damage the trees. Also, make sure you take your nets down every 5 - 10 years to keep them from killing the trees even if you use proper webbing. I've tried to explain this to him before but he is still teaching people improperly.

    • @treenetweaves
      @treenetweaves  3 месяца назад

      Thanks for your comment. All of the nets we build do NOT touch the trees. We use wood block spacers to ensure the tree can still properly get its nutrients. I would NOT recommend placing even 1 or even 2 inch webbing directly on a tree. This will still kill it.
