I came to my computer with a decent sound system attached to watch this. Sounds great BK. Please pass on congrats to Ms GG for providing such a luxuriant background setting!
GREAT REVIEW! I was a little worried, I didn't know Australia had Pterodactyls 1:24 that one was squawking at you (yes I had to google the spelling of pterodactyl), but seriously great vid, I am saving up for a Bose L1 Pro16 !!
Great set up Brett. Sounds lush. I nearly bought one last year. I ended up buying 2 x S1 Bose due to the in built battery to do a wedding in a paddock. Acoustic and vocals are plenty loud enough. Could do the ceremony & speeches easily. Also worked great for normal wedding playlist via Bluetooth with a phone. Sure beats the mixer, power amp & passive speakers of “olden days”.
g’day Brett, from Switzerland. I’ve just purchased the pro 16 and the TS8. Can you help me figure out the best way to connect the TS8? I’m loosing too much hair! I have the special Ethernet looking cable and tried a direct connection from the TS8 to the L1. Sounds ok but l have to pan the TS8 inputs all to left to get a full signal. This cable is great as it powers the TS8 without needing a separate power supply, bower it doesn’t allow me to change volume levels on the L1. Alternatively l tried powering the TS8 with the power cable and then with a mono out hooked in to the first channel of the L1. This works but panning was the opposite. I got volume control both on the L1 and the TS8 but with lots of hissing. Short story, what’s the best connection to get the full signal and will l always need to pan? Any help would save me big time. Thanks mate and keep up the good work. Carlyle
Thanks for this video, really helpful. Can I ask a question please? I ordered my pro 16 a month ago and Bose seem to be on a go slow delivering......however, when it arrives, I sing with a keyboard and use a footswitch to switch the reverb off when I'm talking. D'you know what I'd have to buy to arrange that? There is no place to switch the reverb off on the amp and I don't want to be messing around trying to move buttons just as I'm about to sing. Thanks so much. From a sunny (for a change) west Wales!
Hello Mandy. Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you've found the video helpful. I don't have the L1 anymore, unfortunately. It went to a friend in need of a portable PA and all reports are that he loves it - understandably! I had a quick Google re your footswitch question and the only thing that came up was at toonz.ca/bose/wiki/index.php?title=T1_ToneMatch®_Audio_Engine_/_Routing_for_Effects which I hope helps you. Other than that, you may have to consult a forum or similar that discusses this product and its flexibility. All the best and I hope the sun keeps on shining in Wales (where I hope to visit sooner rather than later!). BK
Thanks Brett. Good video and excellent information. Many are complaining of the design where mounting of the columns are concerned. The fitting seems less secure and there is wobble. As a Pro 16 owner, what is your experience and thoughts about that? Curious too, did you at any point consider other systems such as the EV 30m for example? I’ve begun researching both and am aware of the differences. Would be happy to get your thoughts. Thanks!
Great! The mixer just gives you more control for multiple inputs, guitar/voice modelling, etc. A worthy addition but not absolutely necessary in many applications.
Beautiful playing! Where can I buy one of those Mixer mini stands? I just purchased the Bose L1 Pro16 + the T4S ToneMatch and I’m super excited to give this setup a go! :) Thank you.
@@BrettKingman Thanks for getting back to me Brett! I have an Acoustasonic Strat, but it always sounds a bit thin thru the Bose. I was wondering what preset you had on the PA channel the guitar was plugged into. Yes, three and four are my go to settings on the Strat as well. The top resonate pickup fills it up nicely on three. Sounds great man and thanks for the review!
I’ve been using a Turbosound version of this for a few years now. It’s absolutely the best type of setup for a solo or duo. The Bose gear is nice but it’s way overpriced.
Have been looking through videos of PA systems for my solo shows with my acoustisonic. Your video is really helpful thank you!
It sure seems like you live in a piece of paradise Brett.
Love the videos.
Intriguing set up too!
Keep up the great work. !✌🏼

You ARE the man! Sir, I appreciate your efforts, your timing and simply you as a person.
Happy Holidays.

Nice garden Brett. Looks so cozy :)

What a wonderful garden. That Bose is amazing. Have the theater system in my media room to listen to Mr. Kingman on RUclips.
Lovely garden Brett!

Great review, gorgeous garden
Thank you. I'm putting up a 'garden' video shortly so interested folks can have a better look.
where do you put the 1/4 jack into the mixer then into teh PA??
Have you the array wobble that so many people are complaining about. I was going to buy the L1 Pro 16 but have just come across this issue.
Boa noite meu amigo, dois sistema deste atenderia 400 pessoas em uma igreja ? Ou vc acha que seria melhor L1 32 ?
Me enamore de la guitarra
🤣 you've just found the best way to hassle any neighbour that might have pissed you off in the past👍

What exactly on Tripod?
How much does it cost

@@BrettKingman That is a great and helpful reply. Thank you so much! If you head to West wales, let me know, Mandy
Hello my friend, whats guitar is it?
How long will this last from full charge?

If you don't mind my asking what kind of tripod are you using to lift the T8S?
Yes good question please?
Beautiful sound! Do you run this on external power? If so how many watts would I need?
How does it sound straight in to the unit without the mixer?
Great! The mixer just gives you more control for multiple inputs, guitar/voice modelling, etc. A worthy addition but not absolutely necessary in many applications.

It looks like a camera tripod.
All the rage these days, and for good reason... good sound, even spread and very convenient.
Nice kit. Just wondering what is meant by "discretionary footprint".
Ha! Yeah, I mean't small.
Hi Brett is this system gives a stereo sound?
No, you would need two of them.
Thanks Brett, that was quick answer and I appreciate it.@@BrettKingman
Cool. Is it loud enough for vocals over a drummer, base and guitar?
Easily loud enough, I would say.
Plug a Modeler (helix, Fractal) in it and let’s hear the quality
If you don’t mind, what Tonematch setting are you using on the Acoustasonic Strat?
I don't mind at all - but I can only guess that I was using one of the middle positions - 3 or 4 - on that occasion. They've always been favourites.

If I want to hear jazz, can I plug in Martin Taylor? 🤦♂️
The L1 is a generally bad "PA" but for a nice acoustic instrument amplifier it's pretty killer.
