    I got a 2024 Hyundai Elantra N with the DCT, and the 1st service experience was great. Super friendly. (I got my 1st oil change early. Just over 1k miles. Just to be safe.
    Even the buying experience was great. They really went out of their way to make me feel special.
    They even gave me a tour of the dealership (parts department, service department, waiting area etc...)
    So far (just over 3k miles) and I am REALLY enjoying the car.

      @therealgeorgegervinjr.2364 Let me educate you.
      Typically, when a new engine starts and runs for the 1st 500-700 miles, it does what's called "breaking in".
      As an engine "breaks in" the pistons are seating/beding in to the cylinder walls. The pistons rings set, all other items in the rotating assembly wear into each other. Etc..
      That's why in car manuals (even in the Elantra N) manual is states "for the 1st several hundred miles the engine may consume excessive oil while the engine "breaks in".
      As is "breaks in" the engine may deposit very small metallic debris into the oil. Obviously that's not great.
      So, when breaking in a new engine, (most engine builders will require you to do this between the 1st 500-1000 miles) you SHOULD change it sooner than the Typical regular oil change requirements.
      So, being an engine builder and auto Racer, that's what I did. You are welcome to do you.
      Class dismissed

    I have owned a 97 elantra 400+ 1.8l turbo with almost 300k. I now own a 120k genesis coupe 2.0 fbo tuned, a 140k 2005 elantra and now went with a Santa cruz instead of a elantra N because streets where I live are fucked. Really happy with this brand. 0 problems so far I dont baby my cars at all. Toyotas have recalls too.

    • @4drturbo85
      @4drturbo85 4 месяца назад

      Exactly. It doesn't work that way. I got excited when he mentioned that in another post. So I emailed my service writer at my local Hyundai dealership. Was told to contact Hyundai and he gave me a number, so I did. Hyundai told me that I would have to set up an appointment at my local dealer and they would have to verify that it needs a pump. If they install a pump, I would have to pay out of pocket and then be reimbursed through Hyundai. Pretty sure my local Hyundai dealership won't put a Sonata pump in there They would just put another OEM pump. So I'm just going to wait till the recall letters come out in early September. You can't just put a Sonata pump in there yourself and keep the receipt and tell Hyundai to pay for it! Good luck with that

    I started having knock sensor issues last month, i bought the extra weather stripping that you had done a few months ago. I don't have undercarriage wash but it happens when I blast the grille area with a pressure washer and I have to clear the code everytime, after that its all good. Thats my only issue with the car at the moment. It did almost kill me though as it came on as I was driving down the freeway and it slowed me down from 90 to 50 😅.

    My Kona N service writer said there is no word on a fix right now for the HPFP. Had to have a fuel injector replaced under warranty. The service guy said a few Tucsons had the problem also. Yes had to replace the horns also. Did the power wash also and got the CEL but it did go away after some driving. Some people need to understand the service guy told me that the engine is not covered if it breaks at the race track. These engines can run 350HP all day long that's why I'm going to go with the Race Chip out of Germany if you are running over 400HP the engine is going to break start looking at pistons and rods JE or Crower. AND NEVER ADJUST the boost controller by turning the arm up for more boost that will pop the motors Gencoupes had that problem.

    I pray I don't have to deal with a warranty claim on my 23 Elantra N, but my 2013 BK2 Genesis coupe 3.8 has been solid . I've put 143k on it, and so far, so good, but I've kept up with the maintenance, even had it walnut blasted at 100k to clean the carbon out. I think a lot of people neglect Hyundais or Kias. They're cheaper, and maybe attract some consumers who don't take care of them as much, therefore giving the brand a black eye. But i have heard the nightmares about warranty claims being denied

    I have had terrible experiences with the Hyundai service department. So much so, I thought about selling the car immediately. Hyundai sells cars on the strength of warranty, but good luck getting them to keep their word. I actually like my Elantra N, but I will be trading it in next year when I take delivery of my 2025 C8 Z51 Corvette Stingray. It has been fun and happy with the purchase, other than the horrible service department - which ensured I will never again buy a new Hyundai. Whoever buys my usee 2023 will get a good one.
