- Here's another customer shirt order. He wanted his name done in a
graffiti style. The only other instructions were to use orange, grey and black... and to have fun with it!

Hey Jeff,
I notice that you that the cap off of the airbrush. Does that make the lines smoother when you do that? Also do you use a paint thinner for black as well?
Yeah, I take the cap off because it's easier to pick the paint off the tip of the needle.
I almost never thin my paint... But if for some reason it needs thinned I use a few drops of water.

Really impressed how you control the flow. i am just starting with airbrush. how do you obtain thin and sharp lines? my lines are not sharp. i think i am not managing well my colors. which brand do you use? any reducer?
Thin, sharp lines are achieved by holding the airbrush close to the shirt, and only pulling the trigger back a little. Keeping your airbrush clean is crucial... A good habit is to pick the paint off from the tip every time you stop spraying.
I like several different brands of paint, but for most people I usually recommend Createx. It's ready to use right out of the bottle... No need for reducing.

Aqua Flow, and Etac
It will fade after a while. I heat set my airbrush shirts for 30 seconds at 390 degrees.
Does any airbrush paint work on clothing or does some wash out?
Acrylic airbrush paint holds up pretty well on fabric as long as it's heat set. There will be some fading after washing, though.

You can use a iron on vinyl to protect the art, during washings, normal wearing, etc. I'm a bit surprised the artist doesn't do this themselves. It's a great finishing touch.

Hi jeff I just started airbrushing and really enjoy it. Are those paint bottles attached to your gun or are they bottles designed for it that u mixed your colors in, I like the idea of just switching out colors like that.

Jeff... YOU are the Man.... Wow... this is great!!!! ... but I'm little confused... two people asked you what paint to use and first you said, "Cretex" ... the you said "Aqua Flow" .... which one do you like better? Thank you so much for a great video!!! ;)
Thanks Judi. For my personal use I like aqua flow for most colors, but for beginners I usually recommend Createx because it's thinner and easy to manage... Less clogging etc.
Ah!!! I totally understand... Boy, I wished I knew how to do this years ago... I used to Hand-painted "Dusters" I sewed them, then painted in detail on the back or some times the whole Duster (Western Long Coat)... I even got to do one for Jon Bon Jovi!!! That helped skyrocket my business at that time... Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.... the reason for the interest is: I need to raise money$$$ to open up my Acting Studio (this also helps kids that need a mentor too)... May I ask you one more question? How much can I charge for a T-Shirt? I'm sure there is a range of prices... Thank you again, God Bless and keep up the beautiful art that you do!! ;)

Wow!!... That is a great price!!! Shirt included too!!! Do you get your T-Shirts from an outlet? IS there any special Shirts you advise to paint on... (00oopps, I mean Airbrush on?) I know when my friend did silk screen, there were tons of different shirts ... Can you recommend a brand, that is worthy to do great art on? I'm talking about your art, not mine... ;) If I can find my old pictures of my Dusters I'll show them to you... many many hours on them.... I so wished now I had known about Airbrushing... Me personally, I‘d really appreciate what you do but would like to ask you for a favour.
Maybe you could talk a little bit about what you do while you do it. So one could try to grasp the „wisdom“ behind your terrific pieces and learn how to do it.
At least I always try to take something away from your videos.
