If you use several coats of the white you're good to go as long as you hand was them quickly. I sponge wash mine. You could also give several coats of clear spray on the back (like Minwax) and they would be fine. The spray paint acts as a coating (clear spray is just spray paint without color) I wouldn't put them in the dishwasher. I use mine all the time!
Hi Bonnie, I'm pretty sure you could get at least 10 plates from the spray paint. You don't need very much. Also, you might want to get a Minwax clear coat for the back as an extra sealer after you spray the white. It would be a very nice finish to the plate.

You are very talented. I am making a two tiered tray out of those Dollar Tree glass plates. I plan to paint sunflowers around the rim of the bottom a pond in the center of the top plate. Then I found a small vase to use as the spacer. Wish me luck. You inspired me to try this!

You can quickly hand wash them using a sponge and soap and water. As long as you give a nice coat of the white in the back it serves as a protective coating. Don't put them in the dishwasher.
I wouldn't put them in the dishwasher, but if you give a couple of coats of the white spray paint at the end, you can was them with soap and water and a sponge and you'll be fine.

Cool project! Don't know if anyone else has posted this suggestion: Use wax or parchment paper when spreading glue on images. They won't stick, as they might when using paper towels. Thanks for another pretty, budget-friendly DIY!

Mod Podge is sticky when it dries. I would use a Minwax instead or a clear Minwax spray.
