Wonderful interview of an icon of British climbing. He was instrumental in my interests in climbing & mountaineering along with Dougal Haston & Don Willans.
What a fantastic interview Cameron and deserves to be seen by a wider audience. He is such an inspirational man who appears humble in respect to his achievements. Thanks for sharing .
Sir Chris you were one of those influential characters who inspired me to venture out into the mountains. I now have fond memories along with my eldest son, of adventures which have mad us the men we are today. You truly are a mountaineering legend.
This deserves a spot on National TV. A real coup. Well done for a) getting this interview and b) doing such a great job. This man is a genuine legend. Love the last 10 minutes - beautiful stuff!
Thank you so much, Sir Chris has alway been influential to me, I am not a climber, but his attitude over all of these years has been a great example.. Thank you to Chris and yourself for giving the opportunity to see nothing has changed.... thank you.
That was a terrific interview with fine questions. What a wise and lovely chap Chris is. I bumped into him in Birmingham at the Climbing Championships (I think that it was 1995). Even then while he was busy with the event he was more than happy to spend time chatting to a stranger. He was and is so modest.
I met Chris at Frodsham about 50 years ago, when a group of us used to go bouldering, from the Manchester area. His bouldering wasn't that great but he bought me a pint in the pub. I have yet to return the compliment! Lovely man, and a real gentleman.
Thanks Cameron I really enjoyed watching this. I went to one of his presentations years ago, read his books but never tire of listening to him. He is a British legend and a gentleman if you ever get the chance to speak to him.
I've got most of his books, attended many lectures. No doubt in my mind, one of the greatest Britons of the modern era and one of the world's greatest mountaineers.
Went to see sir Chris do a talk about 10 years ago, his stories of his experiences were captivating. He's been in some pretty dire situations on his expeditions, it's incredible he survived through some of them! Really good interview.
Great Video, thanks. At about 13mins in, Chris mentions the name of a climber who he respected as a great adventure climber. Did anyone catch the name? I couldn't get it!
@stuartroyle1402 glad you enjoyed the interview, thank you. Whilst I do understand your comment, I wasn’t insensitive to this courtesy - there is a reason why I was wearing a hat, which I don't need to explain here.
@s13hgp I've already posted a reply to a previous comment and this is now the third. I wasn’t insensitive to this and there is a reason why I was wearing a hat, where it wasn't an issue on the day. It's frustrating this seems to be becoming a theme in people's take aways.
Given Chris’s experiences in life and being a man of the world I’m sure it wouldn’t have been of any concern to him someone wearing a hat for whatever the reason was, perhaps be thankful that the gentleman with the hat had the conversation with Sir Chris and shared it with us 🤷♂️ I must be getting old too.
Wonderful interview of an icon of British climbing. He was instrumental in my interests in climbing & mountaineering along with Dougal Haston & Don Willans.
What a remarkable man. As a kid growing up in the 70’s he was the man. Still is.
Sir Chris conveys the emotion of such a full and adventurous life so very well lived and I love the sound advice at the end. Fantastic interview mate.

Superb Cameron, your questions encouraged Bonnington to reveal his heart and soul. Brilliant.

I've just watched this at 315am it was so captivating. I remember being inspired by Chris over 50yrs ago when 18 myself. A great interview well done.
Sir Chris has been lovely and admirable all my life. What a treat.

What a treat. Great man!
I am happy to see Chris so healthy at his age. He carries so much wisdom about what is important in life.
Thanks Cameron I really enjoyed watching this. I went to one of his presentations years ago, read his books but never tire of listening to him. He is a British legend and a gentleman if you ever get the chance to speak to him.
Great to see Chris is still with us, he is such a great story teller too, so articulate in his ways.
What an inspiring video. Thanks very much.
Congratulations on securing an interview with this living legend and producing such a well made film, even getting compliments from the great man.
I've got most of his books, attended many lectures.

Amazing great work mate, what an inspiration.
Thanks Oli. An incredible life, well lived.
Great to see you looking so well Chris. You don't look 90 either.
Great Video, thanks. At about 13mins in, Chris mentions the name of a climber who he respected as a great adventure climber. Did anyone catch the name? I couldn't get it!
It's Reinhold Messner.
he's all there
Remember him on Blue Peter back in the day
To Peterfinklaire, he mentioned REINHOLD MESSNER . . Der Ubermeister !!!!
A great interview,,,but please show some manners and take yer hat off in someone elses home.

I must be getting old but surely Cameron could have had the decency to remove his hat given he was in Chris´s home?
