Having lived in London for 16 years, I've always wondered how possible it would be to do Paris in a day, so thought I'd satisfy my curiosity by jumping on the 8:01 Eurostar from London St. Pancras and returning on the 21:11 from Garde du Norde the same day, making it back home and in my own bed before midnight.
