Seeking Asgard Vlog | Ski Touring in Kerlingarfjöll | Iceland | 4K

In April 2022 I travelled to Iceland to make a film with my business, Holmlands - called "Seeking Asgard: Ski Life Stories from Iceland" - a documentary project exploring Icelandic ski culture from a human interest perspective...
At the time we were supposed to shoot with local ski racing coach Guðmundur Jakobsson in Kerlingarfjöll in the Highlands of Iceland - a place where his father was one of eight people who founded a ski school there in the 1960's.
It's a place Guðmundur and his family have spend a great deal of time throughout their lives and whilst the ski school and ski lifts no longer exist - Guðmundur, now 62, still returns to the area as often as possible - maintaining a deep rooted connection for the mountains where he learned to ski as a child.
Off the beaten track and difficult to access in winter, I took a trip with Guðmundur - his brother Albert - and several of his friends for a whirlwind 18 hour adventure.
