I have the red one, and aside from a string change, fretboard oil, and filing one fret, it's been absolutely perfect. I have two other West Creeks that are really gold as well. Sad that you got a lemon.
I think West Creek owes you an apology for this one. What a mess! That neck pocket was beyond the pale! No wonder that guitar wept! Nice pickin' after a loooooooong day!😅😅
Victory! Congrats, Mike. Your tenacity is commendable. Man, those Artec Neck pickups are stout (loud and strong). I have bought the sets for my last two projects (as you know). I find bridge pup a bit dull in comparison. Can't really get them balanced. But I am a neck guy so it's all good. Can you remind me what you put in the bridge? Never mind, just heard you say Fleor.
Ya, the TFA65 neck pup is really good, but the bridge needs a few extra windings to up its output. I have trouble getting the neck pup alone here, so the first bridge I tried I had to replace with a Wilkinson M series Alnico V and those deliver. I can order the neck alone on AliExpress but it takes 4-5 weeks to come. It's ok just to keep one in stock
That was a tough one! Great job figuring it out, it's funny, you, J-man, or Ted talks don't seem to get the perfect out of the box guitars as other channels!
There aren't any perfect out of the box budget guitars, and also main-line brands. They all need something. Perfect will be you going into a custom shop and being hand delivered a many thousand dollar guitar.
Wow, finally done maybe! This was one of your exhausting guitar ever. Must have been a lemon for sure. J-Man's TT-20 had minor problems compared to yours. it must have been the colour choice LOL.
West Creek guitars seem to be a pain in the ass and not worth it for those of us who don't want to spend hours or days fixing all these problems. It's great for people like you Mike who make videos on setting up guitars. I'm convinced West Creek made these guitars for RUclipsrs like you Mike lol. I will never purchase one though.
Hopefully they are correcting all the issues this first batch has and get up to the level they have on the Gibson copies they make. those are fairly good guitars

Why do we do it?
It's the devil that makes us do it
