Great video. Ordered a 2022 in August and it is scheduled to be built the week of October 4th. Lariat in Antimatter Blue with ultimate package, 7.3l gas engine, FX-4, trailer camera package for towing our 32’ travel trailer. Upgrading from a 2017 F-150 Lariat 3.5l eco boost and max trailer tow package to get more margin in payload. Right on the edge of rear axle capacity when towing with the F-150.
Nice man! I ordered my platinum with the 6.7 last week. I hope they get started on mine as quickly as yours! My guy told me it was 4-6 months turnaround time
Glad to see the Tremor package is good now. Back in the ranger days, it offered no better performance. I had one. 1 wheel peel, only offered in the 3.0, not the 4.0, I don't think 4 wheel drive was even an option
Just took delivery on a 22 F250 Lariat Tremor. I hope nobody is paying MSRP for an F250 order. I got a $3k discount from our dealer. Didn't realize that the F250's don't have lane-keeping or centering, you only get vibrations on the wheel. Also, adaptive cruise control won't stop you in traffic or start back up, it cancels at 20mph. The wireless charging while using CarPlay will get your iPhone super hot. I've had it shut off CarPlay several times, I assume due to heat. I'm really loving the Tremor, it's very capable offroad so far and very easy as a daily driver.
It really depends on what you’re using it for. If you drive a ridiculous amount of miles with a load, 6.7 all day every day. If you pull a boat on the weekends a maybe a travel trailer every now and then 7.3 hands down. I think the real comparison that needs to be made is 6.2 v 7.3, I’m not sure how these 7.3s are holding up so far but I’d be curious to see. I am looking into some duties as plow trucks, not a diesel. Just for the chassis and front axle. I’m between 6.2 and 7.3
@@americantrucknation4891 I hear ya I didn’t get the option of 6.2 vs 7.3 since I’m looking at a tremor I tow a boat and other toys on the weekends sometimes week days I’m curious as to what there shop would say giving the choices of engines which one would they choose and why they did a similar video years ago for the f-150 all picked the 5.0 but two others picked the 3.5eb it was a very informative video and with the new option 7.3 that’s now been out for a few years bridges the gap between the gas and diesel Im curious as to what they would pick and which motor would come out on top
@@americantrucknation4891 They’re both great engines. I have the 6.2 in my f350 and there’s nothing it hasn’t done easily.it’s pulled tandem dual goosenecks loaded plowed snow and it’s a strong reliable engine. Impressive power for the base gas engine.
@@outlawfishing6281 I’m not sure I would recommend a diesel for you. But if the 7.3 isn’t a good engine, you don’t have an option. The 6.7 is not going to hold up extremely well with short trips. So if I were you I would keep finding owner reviews for the 7.3. Ask service techs at a dealer what the Godzilla’s have been in for. Because if I were you, try to avoid the diesel. It’s made for long trips with very heavy loads, and when you don’t use it for that issues will start to occur
@@JohnDiMartino oh I love the 6.2, it truly is an amazing engine. No real common issues either. That’s the most bulletproof powertrain ford offers on the duty overall. The 6.7 is if you use it right
I wish you could get the center console on an STX in a super duty like you can in a 150. Hopefully in 23 or 24 when they bring the 150 interior over to the superduty that will be an option as well as the black sport cloth!
Happy as he'll with my 2017 f250 platinum no issues at 85000 miles now. Was going trade it in but the price is astronomical right now due to the chip shortage.

Man oh man 300k subs to even be in the neighborhood of it is crazy. I remember this channel from darn near the beginning lol. Great work growing it so well!!!! You the man!
You can’t “see them”, obviously, as you missed out on the fact the 2020 and up got an upgraded 6.7 diesel, new gas 7.3 offering and available 10 speed transmission. But now you know there is actually a noticeable difference. Unless you buy the base 6.2 with the old 6 speed, which is still available.
The BIGGEST difference between the F250 and the F350 is the yearly license tabs in Washington State. F250 $700 a year, F350 $100. F350 is considered a commercial vehicle. Real pick-ups have an 8' bed. :-)
Nice looking truck but I dread having to buy a new one. My older Super-Duty still hasn’t let me down. These are not investments. Leveling kits are gay too; the whole reason to have truck is to carry a heavy payload. My truck is usually loaded down and that makes it ride level.
When I ordered mine, the main difference between a 350 and 250 was a 4" rear block rather than a 2", the upper overload leaf spring (same comes in the camper package) and the axle shafts themselves were larger with a slightly higher spline count. I saved money by buying a 350 over the 250 due to the lower sales tax for a 1 ton vehicle. I also got the heavy service front springs (think snow plow) and it raised the front to be almost level. I wanted a little rake so it would sit/ride flat with the boat in tow. If you are ordering a truck don't know why you would go with the 350 unless you have some funny finance or insurance restriction with 1-ton trucks. my credit union would not do the loan on a 1-ton. Didn't matter if i used it for a work truck or not...
The rear axle on the F350 has 4" tubes vs the 3 1/2" of the F250. The entire rear end is slightly larger to handle more weight. There is another video floating around where they measured the rear end. In the end, the only real differences are the spring packs and rear axle assembly.
@@acdii And it’s still requires Dual rear wheels in order to get multiple gear option correct? Is that because of The Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) ?
@@Rick_Dunaway No, there are 2 choices for the 7.3 and I think 3 for the 6.7 because medium duty trucks are not EPA regulated for MPG, just emissions. The 6.2 and 7.3 is 3.73 or 4.30, and the 6.7 has 3.31, 3.55, and I think 4.10 (DRW).
@@acdii LOL, I don't even consider the gas engines when it comes to Super Duty's😆 So yeah, its still the same as years past, if you want the diesel then you have 2 options 3:31 and 3:55 then if you get the 350 DRW 4:10 is also an option. The option for 3:73 or 4:10 in a SRW diesel sure would be nice... Changing gear sets in a brand new truck with computer controlled transmissions is more trouble than its worth! in my opinion at least
@@Rick_Dunaway Yeah, but the 10 speed does negate the need for lower gearing. If you do a ratio comparison 10 speed to 6 speed, you will find that the 3.55 ad 10 speed is actually lower to the tires than the 4.1 with the 6 speed. The 4.10 with 10 speed is closer to 4.60. The 10 speed is a game changer when it comes to towing and fuel economy, you get both.
If you are towing all of the time, the diesel is great. That is what they are made for. If however, you are chasing around town and not getting those exhaust gasses hot enough then you will find that you will have a huge problem owning a diesel. This is why so many municipalities are going with the 7.3 gasser. It has very good towing, costs 8-10000 less, no DEF, oil changes are less money, and in most cases the fuel is less.
Nice summary. 👍 Btw, the MY22’s also are missing the following 2 things: 1) ambient light leds in the cup holders 😢 2) led engine bay light under the hood
Push button start is available on the new 2023 f250 mine has the push button start I made sure. Because I like that. So I made sure it has it. I also have it coming with 12 inch screen
Cast iron parts already showing surface rust @ 3:20. I know there are a lot of videos of the rust on the F150's. What about the rears on the F250? Rust?
I guarantee this truck sat in a parking lot with a couple hundred other Super Duties for at least a few months, so that’s not helping it’s case. But on the “rust issue” , does nobody undercoat there trucks anymore?? I have a 2014 F150 and entire undercarriage looks brand new. Undercoated every year since new.
I LOVE your videos! I’ve been trying to get the payload and towing for a fully loaded Platinum 6.7 powerstroke. Does this one have the trailer tow high capacity? The charts online say 20,000lbs towing capacity but it varies when it’s a higher trim. So PLEASE post the payload and max towing! Thank you!
An F350 Platinum has roughly 4000 pounds payload, the F250 will have far less, especially with the powerstroke. Figure about 2000 pounds on the Platinum depending on options.
And think about when these trucks get older, sometimes the glow plugs will need to be cycled a few times during freezing cold Canadian and Alaskan weather. There is no way to do that with a push button.
Great truck, again. Had a 2018, loved it, solid and traveled on serious highways in -35c, northern Ontario. No issues ever, put 115,000 miles and not one single concern. Now in a 2022, hope for the same, really liked the ambient lighting, was a mood changer summer vs winter. One major beef with the 2022, here is is! Why did FORD lower the truck? Why? I bought a tough truck for a reason, if I wanted a F150 I would have bought a F150. New 2022 F350 has a smoother ride and is lowered to the ground. Very concerned for when I plug on the 40" RV. According to measurements, the front fender (top above wheel) to ground in 3/4 inch lower and rear fender is 1.25 inches lower. 2018 has 3.25" blocks between diff and springs, new 22 has 2 inch blocks. Thinking maybe FORD wanted to appeal to the car people with the new fad of have powerful 1 tons by turning them into nice car/trucks, not sure. Now I have to lift it and beef up the suspension to make it look and feel like a Super Duty again.
If you level your truck, adjust the headlights so when you load down it won’t blind oncoming traffic. Shops install level kits, and never adjust the headlights correctly around here.
Would love that dash in my 2021. The split screen feature would solve my biggest complaint of using Android Auto, PITA to change radio sources. Probably just wait for new body style in a few years. The adhesive in the hood looks terrible on that truck, might just be the video but looks like globs are hanging down.
I originally didn't want a super duty again, I had an 07 lariat with a 6.0, full cab and an 8' bed that I traded for my 17 f150 with a 3.5 EcoBoost, but y'all might have brought me back over...
Have a 2014 f150 lariat and love it, looking for a new diesel. I’m a Ford man true and true, but ram has the nicest interiors for sure. Limiteds and Longhorns stand out more from the Laramie than platinums and king ranches do from Lariats. This refresh ain’t bad but it’s not great. Interior is stale and the larger screen was necessary but it’s to late
The one thing I hate is that ford got rid of the cd slot on the new 2022 molds I know most people don’t use cd anymore but I like have the physical cd in my hand wish they bring it back
Fords look great, but the best part about the super duties (especially the f350 and f450) is that they’ll just haul with ease. If you get a Dually it feels like nothing with a Ford. Even hauling a full 16’ dump trailer, no problem. That’s the true reason Ford still makes the best truck
Ram, Ford, GMC, Chevy they all make great looking trucks. It really comes down to price the look but not by much but availability right now because it's so hard to find a new truck I've been looking and I've been told 1- to 4 and even 5 months to order a new truck. I've always went with the Ram truck but started looking at the Ford and next is Chevy. See my best prices.
You don’t drive at night then, you would need to wear sunglasses. It also smudges very easily, you go out in the dirt or get a little fuel on your hands and touch the screen. Big smudge, and if the sun hits it you won’t be able to see a thing. You won’t be able to see it without the smudges. There is a ton going on with those screens, not the easiest to navigate over Sync 3. In my opinion it’s worse than the MyFordTouch in my truck. I’ve driven these trucks with the screen, driven them in the evening (not through the night but pretty dark) I’ll say the screen is my only complaint. I wish it was an option, if you’ve driven one of these trucks; especially in the dark, you’d understand what I mean. It looks different on paper then in the real world. I hope that somebody figures out a conversion kit for these by the time I’m ready for a new truck. Or I’ll just find a very low mileaged 2020
Since when did the 2022 come with "twin turbo chargers"? I know the 6.4 had "twins" and the early 6.7 had a Series Sequential turbo, but it was a single turbo with 2 compressor wheels that acted more like twins than a single. In 2016-ish they changed to a Garrett GT37 turbo. If they do come with "twin turbos" can you point me to the documentation that says so?
Compare the rugged looks of this gorgeous truck compared to that butt-ugly new Toyota Tundra. Please Ford, send someone over to Japan and show them how to design a good-looking truck.
Does it come with the tailgate up? I have a 22 f150 lariat 502a and I can use the key fob or the button inside the truck or on the tailgate to make it go up also.
For performance yes, for reliability absolutely not. The CP4 has too much going on and they tend to explode randomly, such as if you fuel up anywhere other than Loves or Pilot the fuel consistency is not perfect. The CP4 doesn’t like that and self destructs, shooting debris throughout all of the fuel lines, destroying the injectors and so on. $10-15k fix. Not cool at all, you can’t get the disaster prevention kit which will protect it from shooting scrap mill everywhere but will not protect from the explosion. Cummins realized this and swapped the CP4 with a high performance CP3 which is what they had in the 2018 model year, an improvement in reliability for sure. Just not as good for performance, so I see where you’re going but honestly I think performance is very relative. I think it’s nice to have more power and torque but at the end of the day, it’s a truck not a race car. Diesel Duty’s will almost all be work trucks, I know for me I’d plan on keeping until 5-600k on the clock and at that point, I’d rather reliability and longevity over performance

If it weren't for the $$$ it would cost me I would trade my 2020 F350 SRW platinum in for that 2022. Just to get the better screen and navigation. The navigation in mine is much worse than what was in my 2016. Love the new gen 6.7L tho!

Yeah, good luck with that from ford. Ford could get more power and torque from this engine without putting a turbo on it. The engine is built for durability and lower maintenance. Even without a turbo or supercharger the engine can make decent power with minor upgrades. Check out Revan Evan videos on the engine.
People rumor a lot of things, in 2014 people said Ford did away with the stepped windows. Nope! In 2020 they said a supercharged 5.2 V8 will be in the F150 Raptor, Nope! There is beyond no way they’d do a twin turbo 7.3, sorry

Will you please do a poll video in the shop on which super duty engine the techs would buy mainly 6.7 vs 7.3?!

Man oh man 300k subs to even be in the neighborhood of it is crazy. I remember this channel from darn near the beginning lol. Great work growing it so well!!!! You the man!
No sir! You are the man! We appreciate you being an OG!
Beautiful Truck, but, I don't see enough big improvements from my 2017 to make the trade in. Thank you for the very well paced and informative tour.
I've always loved ford super duty trucks. Both 250 & 350
When I ordered mine, the main difference between a 350 and 250 was a 4" rear block rather than a 2", the upper overload leaf spring (same comes in the camper package) and the axle shafts themselves were larger with a slightly higher spline count.
I genuinely don’t understand what’s easier about turning the trailer tow assist than turning the steering wheel. It’s the same thing!
Any idea on the payload capacity of a limited crew cab 250 7.3 gasser with the new engine?
Trailer on mine 24/7/365. Most people don't need the diesel.
What changed on 2022, 18 minutes later... it has a new screen.
Nice summary. 👍
Btw, the MY22’s also are missing the following 2 things:
1) ambient light leds in the cup holders 😢
2) led engine bay light under the hood
The 6.7 just has 1 turbo. It is however a twin-scroll turbo, so it sucks air in 2 different places, then merges the boosted air in one outlet pipe.

Cast iron parts already showing surface rust @ 3:20. I know there are a lot of videos of the rust on the F150's. What about the rears on the F250? Rust?

I LOVE your videos! I’ve been trying to get the payload and towing for a fully loaded Platinum 6.7 powerstroke. Does this one have the trailer tow high capacity? The charts online say 20,000lbs towing capacity but it varies when it’s a higher trim. So PLEASE post the payload and max towing! Thank you!
It does vary, but not that drastically. If it says 20k on an XL, it’s probably 19,700 on a plati
An F350 Platinum has roughly 4000 pounds payload, the F250 will have far less, especially with the powerstroke. Figure about 2000 pounds on the Platinum depending on options.

Build and Price the 250 & 350 ,, there is very little price difference, and in the 350 you can get 3.73 gears. And 10 speed with 6.2 or 7.3 or 6.7
Personally I think that push button start is more work than a traditional key ignition

I agree a level truck looks better but when you load it down doesn’t it raise the front and throw your headlights out of alignment?
If you level your truck, adjust the headlights so when you load down it won’t blind oncoming traffic. Shops install level kits, and never adjust the headlights correctly around here.
Would love that dash in my 2021. The split screen feature would solve my biggest complaint of using Android Auto, PITA to change radio sources. Probably just wait for new body style in a few years.
The adhesive in the hood looks terrible on that truck, might just be the video but looks like globs are hanging down.
Well we have found out that at 1,300 miles the rear differential seal likes to not exist any more. Gotta love that modern quality
It's happening to a lot of them.
This guy does a great job at this.
The southern impression had me dying 😂
I would stay with Ford.
Let me know when the Rams outsell the Fords.
I agree but that’s where it ends. The Rams have had so many issues I’ll stick with Ford.
@Vstar5 i believe it was fixed on 2021 model
The one thing I hate is that ford got rid of the cd slot on the new 2022 molds I know most people don’t use cd anymore but I like have the physical cd in my hand wish they bring it back
they have been gone for a while. my 18 f150 didn't have and my21 f250 doesn't have it either
Fords look great, but the best part about the super duties (especially the f350 and f450) is that they’ll just haul with ease. If you get a Dually it feels like nothing with a Ford. Even hauling a full 16’ dump trailer, no problem. That’s the true reason Ford still makes the best truck
That's how it is with literally every new dually.

Have they changed the Bosch CP4 fuel pump for 22?
Unfortunately no, as far as I’m concerned. A CP4 disaster prevention kit is definitely a Necessity
@@americantrucknation4891 CP4 Is the best pump on the market.
