I want to see a Paintball course involving camels so one person drives the other is the shooter. Using max damage rockets and crossbows for paintball guns and not allowing anyone to wear armor. So it's as close to real paintball it can be with if you get hit once you're out but with more violence because you'll be dead instead of covered with paintball xd
i already commented but i went on a little rabbit hole wondering how traditional japanese houses didn't have chimneys (like how did they stay warm back then??) and i had to bring you my findings: instead of fireplaces, they had an irori in the middle of the main room. it's like a lowered square in the floor with coals and what not inside, with a pot hanging over it, used for heating, cooking, and drying things. the smoke actually intentionally rises to the thatched roof, since it helps seal the material and protect it. the thatching is thick enough to insulate but thin enough to let the smoke actually escape on its own
if this sounds weird to anyone, open hearths were historically common in Europe in small peasants homes. . . and probably many other places. yes it can be smokey, but hey those were the times
This is was one of first thoughts that came to mind when I first heard about the Cherry Blossom Grove. This looks awesome and I like how naturally generated it looks for the most part. Even if Mojang doesn't add a village type for this biome, it would still be cool if there was a custom villager variant for it (maybe villagers wearing yukatas), like how there is for the swamps and jungles.
Just a little cultural tip from a Japanese person, the Tori gate (the red gate in the middle) is actually used mainly for entrances for shrines and temples so maybe not the best for the center piece:)
@@pinkrhombus4658 I didn’t like it either but I said myself “he probably didn’t do that well of research on how Japanese city planning was done at the time, even if it was obvious, the structure’s purpose can still fly over some people’s heads without detection”
A floating village in the swamps or mangroves would be amazing, i imagine instead of farmers the predominant role would be fishermen. They would have to update the ai of villagers a little and make them interact with boats, maybe add a mob or two more like crocodiles or river variants to dolphins. These villagers would have more protection from illager raids due to the biome but maybe up the witch hut generation nearby
i love the process for this!! my gut reaction was to think it didn't look very vanilla, but i think that's just because it looks way better than other vanilla villages lol. i think it def does actually look like a modern vanilla feature since their building style has improved over time. i LOVE the use of trapdoors, like the wobbly fence one and the second floor's .. floor! genius!
This village looks awesome! This video is extremely underrated. I honestly think this village probably looks better then what Mojang would add if they gave this biome a village considering some of the biome specific blocks that would likely not be included such as the mangrove and bamboo wood. My only suggestion would be to make the roofs out of deepslate instead of blackstone, but that aside the village looks perfect!
I really love the build because it's pretty! Although, it's really clear that it was only built with a surface level understanding of Japanese culture. Just a few things I noticed: a tori gate would not be in the center of a village but instead in front of shinto shrines, because they are said to be the gateway from the land of the humans to the land of the gods. The color scheme used for all the buildings are really only seen in religious shrines in temples, not residential houses. There's a lot of others things, too, but these stood out to me most. If the cherry blossom biome got a unique type of village and that village were to be based off Japanese culture, I really hope it's built with care and a lot of research. But then again, there aren't any village types using the wood from another biome, so I feel like Japanese houses can't be built in the cherry blossom biome.
If the Torii is the point of interest, it must go in the center of the village. Same with the terrible block palette, now matter how good it looks. As this is a minecraft village, it must follow the rules for Minecraft villages.
I really hope that Mojang increases the number of village types at some point. Swamp Villages and Jungle Villages would be the top of my list given that we already have Villagers for each, but a Cherry Grove Village in a Japanese building style would also be fantastic.
I think the cherry blossom biome dont need a village, but maybe they can put a new structure like the japanese shrine, but if they put a village,i think the village most be great If you put it at the bottom of the mountain, because the cherry blossoms are on the mountain and it's better to only use it for shrines like those in Japan
As a Shinto, I would give a slight disagree towards the addition of Shinto shrines to Minecraft, as it is my opinion that Minecraft distances itself from any real life religions.
@@CyborgRowlet hmm... Okey,i thinking like that cause they make a building like a church in the village, so I don't think you need to make a shinto shrine, just a Japanese themed temple, but I quite agree with your opinion
I love how vanilla the builds look, but the only problem is that they don't use the resources that are around the biome like other villages do I think most of the pallete could be replaced by stuff like terracotta, present in all types of villages except the cold ones, concrete, which isn't used in any natural builds but could work to replace the quartz. And maybe even deepslate tiles for the roof, it would make sense for a village that has access to concrete to also be advanced enough to find deepslate. Also one more thing, but about Mojang's thought process, is that they tend to make stuff more inspired by real world culture than directly pasting it into the game, thats why you don't see villagers wearing any clothes that reference real world culture, but they have clothes that are inspired by that, but with their own little twist, same thing goes for structures, where one of the few real life structures are igloos and some of the desert village houses
@@chiefpanda7040I honestly think the village itself that he made is way to reliant on Japanese themes. It's a great build but I don't think it's a great approach when you look at other villages and Mojang's perspective of creating things in Minecraft.
While the designs are nice, it's not an exceptionally good instruction video. You skip around during builds, making it impossible to truly see HOW it was built, leaving us a ton of guesswork since, as you said yourself in the video, the Japanese style is tricky to get right. I guess you're going more for inspiration than for instruction, but it's honestly kinda frustrating.

I was actually planning on making a village like this since my base is in the mountain side of a cherry grove, but now I really need to find a mangrove biome cause this design looks so good! I wish the cherry blossom wood was more usable in a japanese style village, cause I feel like it could def make it to the game. Your village looks great, but since mangrove and quarts etc. was used something like this probably wouldn't be in the game since the devs always seem to stick to the materials that naturally appear in that biome. But if something like this would be in the game I'd just stay in that village it's so beautiful.
Wowww, also I had an idea! What about a mushroom village! I mean, the mooshrooms could be in the animal fences, the place would be really intresting, and the housed could be made of mushrooms!
Great build! Though I think the vast majority of cherry grove biomes are a little small and on a little bit steep terrain to support a full village, meadows seem slightly larger and flatter typically so I get why they spawn there. Plus all the trees might require a lot of structure voids and lead to wonky generation with trees generating through things or getting cut off
