A little break from my project with Mark to challenge myself in terms of what types of music I can arrange for matching brass. Leviathan is a contemporary trombone octet by Jack Wilds which was a proper challenge for me. Let me know what you think!

Another banger from my goat Bailey newton!!! I can’t wait to play this with my elementary all-state string orchestra

Just some small things regarding instruments and their range, like another commenter said, the low D on a marching baritone isn't possible with only three valves, but also the low Eb1 on tuba, which would also only be possible with four valves, which most sousas and contras do not have. Trumpets may also be slightly too loud and drown out the lower parts, but that's easily fine tuned in an actual ensemble and more of a limitation of notation software.
That aside, (to my knowledge, I'm not well versed in trumpet nor mellophone) the arrangement is absolutely great, and I'd love to hear it actually played by a group.

Unless you plan to arrange the baritone parts for 3 valved G horns, you aren't getting anywhere below low E

On the 3rd baritone part, it goes down to a low D, to my knowledge that is impossible on any marching horn.

Yeah that’s my bad. Originally wrote it with bass trombone in mind. Technically some baritones are 4 valve which would make it possible but none are really like that nowadays

@ yeah that makes sense, just thought I’d say something, it looks and sounds really good though!
