  • While out exploring an abandoned building that I know some other people have explored this place known as a hoarders house.
    Now while exploring this place and get jump scared by a cat I noticed something was off after finding food near a load of abandoned cars then to my suprise in a car that was filled with rubbish there was a woman with a cat that appears to no longer sleep in this house and uses the cars for shelter.

      @@BeardedRealityUnfortunately that's what it's like. Did you try social services again? I do wonder what AgeUK are actually for because they have a lot of money yet many old people have to sell their homes to pay for a decent care home. This is Margaret Thatchers "Care in the community" in progress right here. They shut down the asylums and people are left to live like this.

    Oh that is sad, poor woman. Is there any houses near-by? perhaps speak with locals to find out if she just wants to be left alone or is in need of help. She sounded coherent rather than crazy and she was well-spoken, it may be that she is too proud to ask for help. I think discouraging other explorers from visiting this location is very important especially as she seems to be on her own.

    I suspect she has been living in the cars for year's moving on to next when it became too full to get inside anymore. Could have been triggered by mental health or bereavement. Some people can't bear to live alone in a house they shared with a partner for years when they eventually pass but can't bear to move away from the place they raised a family in either. I guess, in a broken society this would be the compromise to that, but it's no way to live either.

    You should contact adult social care at your local authority, you'll find it on your local council website. It might have a contact to report a concern if not contact them directly - say you want to report a concern, that you have noticed an older lady who seems to be living in her car in a derelict property. They may or may not already know about her - but just flag it, they won't be able to give you any details but will be able to tell you if they are aware of her or not, if not they will investigate.
    Where I live, there was a guy who was living in the exact same way. He had a very big house, like 7 bedrooms with a drive and gates. He had about 4 cars in the drive and on the garden - the house was in serious disrepair. he never drove the cars - but just would sit in one of the cars all day, he would get a paper in the morning and then just sit in the car which was also full of rubbish. The story was he was the son who inherited the house from his parents, after they died he just couldn't cope with the house and responsibility of it but had nobody to help him and became a mad hoarder and ended up like that. Many people would try and help him, but he refused any help and didn't want to speak to people. There was one chap who had the patience to deal with him and he would speak to him. He would check on him and take him supplies, food and things like that.

    Maybe you could return in the daytime with some cat food (see if she needs anything else)and apologise again for your visit on that night she clearly loves her cats sometimes people who need help wont leave there animals to seek/recieve help she may have no family/friends..she is more than likely to tell you to leave again but you might be able to understand more about her in the daytime and what help she might need. Is there a house that is too full due to hoarding and that is why she is sleeping in the car? Its upsetting to see someone living like this i hope someone helps her

    • @BeardedReality
      @BeardedReality  5 месяцев назад

      It is upsetting especially seen as the services refused to help but tbh I think after being asked to leave best to do that as then it would be a different story of trespass and nolonger civil

    • @shev5179
      @shev5179 5 месяцев назад

      @BeardedReality the services won't help if she is refusing it and she was obviously going to ask you to leave, you turned up unannounced at night time wandering around her land I think anyone in that position would ask you to leave I don't see how it can become criminal as I'm not telling you to break any laws I was just suggesting you maybe did a good deed and dropped some cat food off that way you were not insulting her by bringing her anything just simply apologising again for turning up and you noticed she has cats so you thought you would drop off some food you video everything anyway so you have your evidence but if someone turned up snooping round my property i would appreciate them coming back and explaining in the daytime why they was there.

    • @BeardedReality
      @BeardedReality  5 месяцев назад

    FFS guy's you are laughing and joking about a person who is not in a good place, it's not a good look for your channel, the first thing you should have done is call the police and let them handle it as they have the access to all of the services put in place to help people like this lady.

      its more of a shocked we cannot believe it really as we have not come across this before and kinda processing what happened

      @@BeardedReality well you didn't process much seeing as you left her there and didn't try to call anyone who could possibly help her, do better if it happens again.

      Well I asked if the lady was OK and she asked me to leave so I have to respect her wishes to keep that in mind Also a few days later I called different authorities for a welfare check so plz also keep that in mind 🙄

      @@BeardedReality after a few days, I'd have been straight on it.

      Because I was asked to leave if I did not I would be actually breaking the law which is why I cannot stay on a property- there are a number of factors at play here as well as respecting someone's wishes
