once i learned that the hurdy gurdy had drone strings i thought it sounded a bit like the string version of a bagpipe; it seemed to me they would work well together. and here we are. well done, by the way!
Amazing to hear! This is my goal when I get my bagpipe. I have a friend who play the Hurdy Gurdy and another who play Nyckelharpa, would love to play with them both in the future. Inspiring stuff you've shared, thank you!
Fantastic! The harmonies between the Flemish pipes (?) and the hurdy gurdy truly give me goosebumps. Your rhythms are mesmerizing and the two of you really rock when the "dog" starts to bark.
Dudes... I am folk flute/bodhran/guitar/siniging musician (irish and french sailors songs) just coming back from a concert I played and I ended by chance on your gig... I think I definetly got one more song in my set to play... I hope I will have at least a barely equal quality when I will play it on irish whistle and my friend playing with me on guitare cuz your performance is so fucking good.
Fantastic!!! Could you please send me some tunes like these one? I am a Galician piper and I play Medieval pipes too. Would like to gather at least a dozen on these! Wonderful duo! Keep up the magic!! Love!
Sounds great had an idea in my mind to arrange something for song I’m writing with pipe & hurdy gurdy and was glad to see this to get an idea of sound together which I really like
Those pipes are absolutely, beautiful (so is the gurdy!) Can you tell me what model of Jon Swayne pipes they are, and in what key? I play a set of Jon Swaynes myself, so looking at you, I am interested in buying another! Thank you for the amazing tunes
It's a set of English border bagpipes, with modernised fingering so that they can play into the second octave, giving a full range of an octave and a half. The maker is Jonathan Swayne. (Historically a similar, but slightly less developed, instrument was played in the north of England and the Scottish border country.)
Border pipes, but with French cornemuse du Centre fingering, as made by Jon Swayne. Unlike the Lowland pipes, the chanter on these can overblow into the next octave, giving you the three extra notes. I have a couple of sets of these pipes myself.
Sooo beautiful and in perfect synchronization! Piece reminds me of “come ye o’er frae France”
Listening to this performance literally gave me goosebumps, bagpipes and hurdy gurdies, a match made in heaven, thank you making this exist!

Really fantastic stuff. Nice to see more continental European bagpipes out there! I'm having a great time with my medieval Flemish-style pipes.
So humble, so good. Beautiful tune, unbelievable chemistry.

That was amazing. The combination of pipes and hurdy hurdy goes so well together. Great tune too. Blessings from Australia.

Are those Lowland Pipes that Ms. Cue is playing?

Is this english bagpiping?
A 17th or 18th century English hornpipe as played on English bagpipes and a hurdy gurdy by two Germans.
Is that an electric bagpipe?
No. She pumped the bellows under her right elbow.
