Thank you ! You not only did justice ti one of my favorite tunes but you taught it extremely well. Jerry would be proud. Really dig your ghetto peace sign humor while patiently doing justice to a freaking anthem man, thanks !
Have you ever see that video where Bobby is playing this on J P Barlow's deathbed? Really wild.... Great job with this one.... Good 'ol Bob Jackstraw E. For added context Mickbeth Music has an excellent lesson on this one also... for that chord your calling F#m i like x4467x or x91113xx maybe adding a 9 somewhere...
hard to believe that the album came out summer '72 but wasn't performed till '74 ..?? so yes on the acceptance stuff : 1) everything changes & ends 2) things don't always go according to plan 3) life isn't fair 4) pain is a part of life 5) people are not loyal & loving all of the time .. whew that's some hard lessons there and the 'batmans & robins' gave them a beat and a melody ... 'to fill the air' ...
Davvy!! So good man. Learning a shit ton from all these videos. Not sure the format on requests so I figured I'd send a shout out to Help on the Way/Slipknot. I know its a long one given that its two song (Franklins isnt necessary). I'm really curious how you play it and how you improvise during the transition to Slipknot. There are a few other note for note versions on the Tube meanwhile I'm stoked to hear how you grove the tune. The Help on the Way parts are just killer so thanks for considering.
Hey bud, if you want a little extra saucy on the solo try E Lydian.. basically your B major scale shape but treat the E note in the scale as the root. Pretty sure towards the end of the jam section theres an Ab-minor which also works perfectly with the E Lydian being that its relative to Ab-minor
I know you do, as do I, prefer the Garcia/Hunter songs but have you considered doing a lesson for Greatest Story Ever Told? Been listening to it a lot on the all the 50th anniversary shows of Europe 72 and Jerry's Wah on that song is incredible every performance
Yo my dude, you have a lot of videos that are beyond helpful, but this I can't find anywhere (clearly) Do you have one on pedals / Jerry's guitar tone? For example I just bought an auto-wah and the second I plugged in I was like "oh damn that's Estimated Prophet ! What pedals and or effects do you use / recommend to get those jerry sounds?

The wah sound was from a Mutron pedal. They are no longer made and the vintage ones are several thousands of dollars.
Tip as promised!
My man, thank you so much!
