Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

The deeper beauty of the song is missing here. The lyrics are fabulous, but the simplicity of the music in its original form wasn't a hard driving beat and/or guitar!
Wow. I had NO idea they ever played Farm Aid? Awkward. Were they to play Farm Aid today it would be a whole different mind set- They would be far more comfortable. Thinking this gig came with the territory of being newly signed to Elliot Roberts or Neil Young's Vapor Records?
They'd been signed to Vapor c. 4 years at this point. This was when So Jealous had really started to hit and they could finally afford to hire a guitarist/keyboardist (Ted Gowans).
