It must be so fucking hard to pick a song to play on a show like this or whatever where they have one opportunity to show everyone who they are since their music is so diverse u can't put a pin on it.
Easily, one of the 10 best tracks of the decade...Awesome performance here by a very young VW. All they do is keep getting better, it's been an incredible ride thus far, keep it coming boys, much love, from your neighbor down in Philly.
I think certain people are having a hard time appreciating the relaxing trip they turned this song into. It's mellow and melodic, and sounds great at cruising speeds over the dashboard speakers.
The song makes me homesick any time I listen to it. Hi Rostam good job also thanks your mom on my behalf (little friend) for the great cookbook she published that able me to make Persian food for my kids and American wife specially the baklava, thank you.
my favorite part is how the whole band is so chill and relaxed looking except the drummer. I mean, that's not an insult, it's just kind of funny how obviously into it he is. I'd be like that too if I were playing the song. It's relaxing but just feels so badass to drum.
Lyrics: A devastating backstroke All the way from France With shiny, shiny cufflinks A shirtsleeve to enhance The pin-striped men of morning Are coming for to dance With pure Egyptian cotton The kids don't stand a chance You criticize the practice By murdering their plants Ignoring all the history Denying them romance The pin-striped men of morning Are coming for to dance Forty-million dollars The kids don't stand a chance I didn't like the business But that was at first glance Your pillow feels so soft now But still you must advance The pin-striped men of morning The partners in the dance The paper's shot to pieces The kids don't stand a chance
Man, if I would see those 4 "nerds" on the street I would not even notice them - but due to the fact that they rocked the shit out of this song with Vampire fucking Weekend, they now sparkle!
I would say calling fans of Vampire Weekend "cunts" qualifies as trolling. And to answer your question, to each his own. I personally love Vampire Weekend's melodies and how they tend to bring an air of uniqueness into each of their songs. It's a kind of devotion to writing a good song that you don't see often these days.
amazing. the drummer is really going for it on such a slow song
Very ringo
rostam has such beautiful backing vocals. I'm seeing them live in 7 days!!!!
It’s been 11 years but how was it?
How was the show
He's also a fine Producer.
Seeing them in concert twice this weekend in Berkeley! Granted, without Rostam.
Vampire Weekend pretty much restored my faith in music.
Best release of '08 hands down.
The girl playing the violin looked like she was having fun :) I love watching people play violin. They're always so energetic and graceful-looking
Oh I remember watching this in 2020 now its 2050 and every one is dead except me and my computer

This is the best arrangement of this song that I've heard so far. Good job Vampire Wkd, NBC and the C.O'Brian show directors!
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard....:-)
She nailed that violin solo. She's amazing.
ITS A VIOLA 😭
Man, this is like one of the best songs i've heard for 10 years.
oh the memories
I love Ezra's high notes
I love the little bit of “raw” sound when he hits the apex of his range
One of my favorite songs rn! It’s 2023. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I think certain people are having a hard time appreciating the relaxing trip they turned this song into. It's mellow and melodic, and sounds great at cruising speeds over the dashboard speakers.

The song makes me homesick any time I listen to it. Hi Rostam good job also thanks your mom on my behalf (little friend) for the great cookbook she published that able me to make Persian food for my kids and American wife specially the baklava, thank you.
without a doubt one of the best bands on the planet atm
i think the guy playing the cello is the same guy from the acoustic sessions they did w/juliard trained musicians.
(20 years forward)
-son: dad, what does genius mean?
-me: *shows video*
Man this was the 1st time I ever heard of Vampire Weekend and I loved it THANK YOU COCO! ;D

this i my favorite band
there is no one like them
they did an amazing job, great performance
Agreed. It's amazing what a studio full of electronics and instruments can do. And, quite possibly most artists get worn out on tour.
Absolutely love this song - just haven't got a flipping clue what the words mean!
me encanta este pinche grupo, es de lo mejor es de lo mejor !!!
Love the strings in this song
@bmpsound4 well done for correcting my error. im very impressed, you must be a musical genius for spotting that mistake.
i had never heard of them... but saw them on conan and bought the cd IMMEDIATELY... they are awesome... and i'm not even a big indie rock fan
Lyrics:
A devastating backstroke
All the way from France
With shiny, shiny cufflinks
A shirtsleeve to enhance
The pin-striped men of morning
Are coming for to dance
With pure Egyptian cotton
The kids don't stand a chance
You criticize the practice
By murdering their plants
Ignoring all the history
Denying them romance
The pin-striped men of morning
Are coming for to dance
Forty-million dollars
The kids don't stand a chance
I didn't like the business
But that was at first glance
Your pillow feels so soft now
But still you must advance
The pin-striped men of morning
The partners in the dance
The paper's shot to pieces
The kids don't stand a chance
the drummer is loving that shit. great song!
i like rostam's scarf. it's so badass. and only keyboardists can pull it off. kudos to rostam and cheers to having been introduced to these dudes.
I looooove the drummer haha :) he is hectic
now that you pointed it out, you're right!

It's so that the sound doesn't bleed into the other mics, especially in such a small venue as this if u get me :)
