this version of gourmet race makes dedede look like a king that if he cares about his people, due to the sharp and melancholic tones it is because despite the fact that dreamland was plunged into the disturbance it was the only way to prevent Nightmare from breaking free, and that it was his last resort to try and stop Kirby so he wouldn't make the situation worse.
Ultimate guide based on my experiences: 1: If he keeps walking towards you without attempting to jump, he is gonna body slam, so you gotta dodge it. 2: try to never be stuck in a corner, or else DeDeDe will combo you with hammer. 3: don't try to fly over DeDeDe while he is using hammer because he will jump and slam his hammer in the sky. 4: don't run from DeDeDe when he is coming towards you with a hammer because he will never stop giving chase until you're in his attack range. Dodge it and suck the star his hammer slam made so you can shoot it back at him. 5: don't go towards a corner if DeDeDe is jumping, because he will use hammer afterwards so you won't have a change to escape him. 6: If he opens his mouth and wait for a few seconds, that means he is preparing to become a ball. 7: always run towards DeDeDe while he becomes a ball because he will aim his bounce towards you, you running towards him would confuse him, and he will bounce to your location from earlier.
James Ketchum I'm with you on this one. The Melee one is fantastic to be sure, but this was always the definitive version to me. An arrangement with more modern instruments might be the trick....
I have no nostalgia for this song in this game but I admit I like hearing it more than the Fountain of Dreams in Melee. This song has a lot more going on in it!
Actually, it is slow Gourmet Race, but it has been upgraded with BOM BOM BOM noises and such to make it sound like a final battle rather than a racing song. But you were close!
When I was younger and dumber, I didn't understand that I had to fight the guy, so I had no idea what to do lol. The music is still kind of haunting to me though, and I don't really know why. Maybe it's the beginning or how frickin MASSIVE he is in this particular game.
@@notefish328 Well, when I had gotten the game, my brother had previously owned it and had already completed most of the game except for DeDeDe and onward. So I hadn't actually played the full thing when I received it. 😅
I'm so glad I decided to look up and find all this beautifully made music from the Kirby franchise. Makes my soul melt with passion and Nostalgia especially this song. :D
that one time dedede actually saved dream land and he gets beaten up for it should have tried talking to kirby first before pulling out your hammer dedede
Grew up with this game as a kid. And I somehow lost the game as of now. Hopefully I find it, because I can't bare the thought of losing that bit of my childhood.
Thanks, dude. Also, as much as I hate to say it, I HAVE played Call of Duty Black ops....ONCE. I was at a friend's house, and he convinced me to play multiplayer with him, and I almost instantly hated it. I also tried the "zombie mode", or whatever, but it terrified me, so I "calmly" told him to exit it...Ok, actually I jumped, and hid behind the couch until he quit the game. (I have a fear of zombies, and it was very big at that time) Sorry for the life story, but I felt that had to be said. :P
The first time I ever was introduced to Kirby was Super Smash Bros. 64, then the first Kirby game I played was nightmare in dreamland. I always loved this fight and music, due to its similiarity from gourmet race in Super Smash bros,. My first kirby game and have been a kirby fan ever since ^-^
This is so nostalgic! I remember my sister, brother and I spending months in the this game trying to defeat King Dedede, this song just never got boring. To think now that I can defeat King Dedede in this game without copy abilities. To be fair, he is relatively easy.
Being the Smash guru that I am, that song is pretty much this one. A little remixed, and with samples of some other Kirby songs, but yes it's pretty much the same song. Interestingly enough, Fountain of Dreams is a wonderful stage with wonderful music.
Actually, you briefly encounter him several times before you actually fight him throughout the actual game. All he does at those times is send out his minions/goons at you.
@TheFlamingDoh2 I know that its just that i wasen't shore if the game had fighter kirby but the anime did plus the quality is a little diffrint so i knew it was I also realized that nintendo uses the anime images for a lot of kirby stuff if you watch super mario world the movie part 5 by me you will see the anime logo on the plush tag when the meeting takes place also the "kirby" on the screen where it says kirby on this video i realized thats always how they write it. DylanDude120 but from the same company so... it''s most likely that the dream fountain was created and used in SSBM and then (mabye?) afterwards as a preview beofre, now real in the KNID(L) game (but I still believe that KNID(L) came before SSBM :/ maybe in japan)
I got myself emulated to play it again. My strategy to beat King Dedede is Ranged copy ability (Laser, Cutter) except Throw because you need Ammo. If I fight King Dedede with Melee or Ammo Ranged. I will be attacked nearly. So I must stay distance.
"So why didn't you just tell me there was an evil wizard inside the dream fountain?", asked Kirby.
"Lol", responded Dedede, "lmao."
rofl even .
“You hit me in the face before I could say anything” said Dedede frustrated
yes
When this was your first Kirby game only to realize this was a song for the Race against each other and not King Dedede's official theme
King Dedede's theme is used for the other bosses, which doesn't make sense to me.
My first kirby game is kirby and the amazing mirrors
Well this version originated in Super Smash Bros Melee.
Yeah, that's what it was for me!
You're telling me because that was the case for me.
this version of gourmet race makes dedede look like a king that if he cares about his people, due to the sharp and melancholic tones it is because despite the fact that dreamland was plunged into the disturbance it was the only way to prevent Nightmare from breaking free, and that it was his last resort to try and stop Kirby so he wouldn't make the situation worse.
when I was little, I always go hammer vs hammer
Me too!! it's so funny and the same time epic!!
Even when i'm older i go hammer vs hammer because hammer flip is op
It was like fighting dragon vs dragon in pokemon games
Bronze Felix I'd go laser not hammer
U.F.O. FTW
This isn't a fierce battle between rivals like his normal theme says...
It's a king last resort to stop someone from doing a terrible mistake.
A dramatic way to put it, and it makes the song even mote fitting
"KIRBY YOU FUCKER YOU SUMMONED THE DEVIL" -Blue penguin king
it didn't work lmao

@@faridavanessazerondoblado89 Well no

I may be late but laser is OP on this fight
i actually prefer this version over the one in melee, it just brings back so many memories!
James Ketchum I'm with you on this one. The Melee one is fantastic to be sure, but this was always the definitive version to me. An arrangement with more modern instruments might be the trick....
The Air Ride version is by far the best version IMO, but this version is great for nostalgia reasons.
I have no nostalgia for this song in this game but I admit I like hearing it more than the Fountain of Dreams in Melee. This song has a lot more going on in it!
Personally, the orchestration/arrangement of the Melee one is too dramatic for me.
This is what it sounds like when Kirbeh gets Clobbah'd.
This and Dededes theme in SSU:Revenge of the King
*lol*
Blobbah day dere kirbeh!
This brought a tear to my eye. Beautiful. Simply beautiful.
he was tougher when I was little, mostly because he could jump up to reach me if I tried to float out of the way.

Yep, that was a pain
He was tougher in this game for me because of his size lol
Funny thing, when one starts the game, sound test is already avalible... I can listen to this before I've even beat level one... x3

This song sounds like the ultimate duel of rivals, the epic battle of an obese penguin, and a bulimic puffball!
After 10 years, I hear this soundtrack again.
The best song ever :)
Yes :D
That's true, plus it is as representative song Kirby
PS: (I translated this with google translator, I hope you understand)
The Kirby Air Ride version is the best.
Really? Ok, I'll see
Thanks! :3
Dedede was so hard for me as a kid. Now, he needs a mask and a new hammer just to be threatening.
Masked dedede huh
Now he gets to be tougher by getting possesed, get buffed and a mask with a hammer
idk why i didnt realise i could just duck under him when he inflates but then again i was kinda stupid
Then he uses a column to crush kirby, only to wear a different mask and use two hammers instead of one, only to run on all fours like a wild animal.
The average Kirby fan KIRBY IS GOD LIKE NA SI BEAST. The average DeDeDe enjoyer the large penguin is a true worrier and chad
