@karun: It probably a lot more convenient than the Aston. I'm an owner of a V8 Vantage and a current gen Vanquish. They spend more time in the dealership getting repairs than in my garage or on the road with me. Astons are great cars to look at and drive when they work. They are a nightmare to own ;) Astons are hand built. What that means in real life is that things fall appart when you go over a pot hole a bit fast. For an example, the roof liner on my V8 Vantage is coming appart and the fit and finish of some of the interior pannels are not that great even when brand new. I checked the LC out in person and that is not the case with it. Perfect fit and finish! The car I test drove had abt 4000Km's on it and I'm sure they were very hard 4000K's. And it felt like it just came out of the factory. It's slightly down on power compared to the V8 Vantage (power to weight) on paper. On the road, I couldn't tell the difference. The story may change on a track though. It gets going pretty well and makes all the right noises :) I think Lexus/Toyota has a winner ;)
I love these kind of vídeos, we need more vídeos like this from you, it's very useful because you're explaining in the real world perspective. I'd like to see something like this again, but with the Honda/Acura NSX
Victor That's because it actually was a concept and 3 years later they made it a reality which is awesome! More companies should do that! The concept was called the lf-fc (2014) check it out.
Nice video, one suggestion though, could have explained or demonstrated more about the hybrid system how it does its job during different driving situation or modes as it is an other good thing about the car. Like in start-stop traffic ca run on pure electric power and how the electric motors help to boost power etc. Lot of people still dont know how Lexus`s hybrid system work and all they get from videos is that it is a 3.5 V6 petrol.
Great video and its 2021 and i must say people rate Lexus now they are highly respected , lexus is well and truly established and it is 2021 at the time of me typing this.
British food is so boring, but thankfully this review was not. Great car the Lexus, reliable, quality build, unique and bold. A great buy if you have the cash. Keep up the great work.
I cant understand why people criticise the back "seats" of this car. This is a 2 seater sports coupe. Period ! Like what did you expect ? Complaining that this car doesnt have four seats is like buying a SUV and then complaining about it not having the performance of a sport car....
Sound of the Hybrid version is really underwhelming compared to the US spec V8. The low rumble gives this car much more character than the vacuum cleaner like sound at 30:23.
pls realize our much higher gas prices here in europe !! I definately would drive a Mustang or Corvette ; and i drove some for a few days , BUT i (and most people) cant afford the gasoline and tax here in europe ! ....so i stuck with a old V6Hybrid from Lexus which s pretty reliable compared to our german "premium" shit.
@@kubanskiloewe You are preaching to the choir, here in Finland price of gasoline is like in the top 5 of Europe, somewhere around 7 US dollars a gallon.
Bit late to the party with this one, but - if you can remember - did it feel like a big car round London and trying to park? I'm right on the cusp of buying an LC 500 (newer model with 360-degree camera), but worried about its width on UK roads and car parks, especially with the big doors. Did you struggle at all driving on smaller roads, and getting in and out of the car in car parks?
Thanks for commenting. The doors are quite long, so they are a bit tricky when youre parked close to other cars,, but not much worse than a German coupe. The only time I felt genuinely nervous driving it was when I was coming back from Goodwood and I was on those really tight, single-track roads going through West Sussex. As long as you drive carefully in London you'll be absolutely fine and the ride is really nice so I didn't find any road surface an issue. It's a genuine lovely car, so definitely go for one if you can.
@@Galaxy89cars Thanks for the heads-up. I'm being sorely tempted by a 2024 model, which has the touchscreen and 360 camera - solving all of the major issues of the previous models. I'm just not sure about buying a 5.0-litre car in an era of EVs. That plus the extra 68mm width over my i4 M50 (at least it's not as wide as a Taycan). I live in the SW and there are a lot of crappy country roads I'd be worried about going down! I think another test drive is in order.
Beautiful car. Only issue i have is that i feel like the wheels are too sunk into the fenders.. they need to be more flush to the fender other then that beautiful car inside and out
@toyota4life. Lexus probably left some room for fatter tires to be installed by ppl who wish to modify this car ;) Can be solved easily by fitting 265's in the front and 295 or 300's in the back and it'll fit fine with the stock rims
I’ve not heard any reviewer of this car comment on the alcantara covering on the instrument shroud. It stops the reflection on the windscreen that most cars suffer from on bright days. Plus, how does it charge and can it be driven on electric only?
+niptodstan Yes, I mention in the video the car moves away silently on electric power only. At greater speeds to engine kicks in. It is charged through the engine and regenerative braking although I'm sure a trickle charger could be useful.
Lexus will outlast any German car or American car (corvette)...those cars age like milk with a early experation date Lexus on the other hand age like fine wine!!
Galaxy89cars the 500h version most likely as I drive a lot in London. 911 Carrera 991. Also like to ask if the 500h sound all right. Not expecting to be like a proper performance car.

PRO: The design on the seat is very cool like the Aston Martin DB11.
Now what is a 47 year old doing in the back seat of a sports coupe? Were you being driven in the LC 500 operating as an Uber transport vehicle? And who uses Apple anyway when we live in a world where we have Android?
@Social: Wealthier people use Apple. I had 2 Samsungs before Apple back when Android was better. Ferrari and some others ONLY offer Apple Carplay, no Android Auto. Lamborghini offered Apple Carplay 1st in 2017 and will offer Android Auto in 2018.
The reason for the no flat bottom steering wheel is mainly because the LC is a GT coupe. Just wait for the more agressive LC F. thats where it will compete with likes like the M8, S-class coupe AMG.
Terrible interior color... should've been brown or white. You have nice hair btw :) Love the details you noticed and not being confusingly technical, and that V6 is the best sound engine this car offers!
Cars that cost $100,000 they can only put one cup holder there in a Grand Touring Car. So when my wife and I go on a tour down let's say the California Coast Highway 1 we would go out for coffee in the morning where exactly is she supposed to put hers? Hot coffee between her legs as she answers the phone from the kids? Or have a client that I want to drive around and he doesn't want to hold the hot coffee all the time so I give him my cup holder and I put my coffee where?
You missed the driver's seat height adjustment and the little button in the glove box that opens the boot from the passenger side :D And nothing was said about the soundsystem or rearwheel stearing (which was probably why it has a gr8 turnig circle)
+Haruchio Pagani I mentioned rear wheel steering right at the beginning actually. Pretty much everything is copyright so giving an example of the sound system wouldn't have been possible
Really lovely car, but I think we will have to wait a while to see how it lasts in the long run with reliability, depreciation and whatnot. Very nice though! I love the futuristic design however I think 10 speed is a little over the top. When would you need a 10 speed gearbox as opposed to a 7 speed? Seems like just something to stick in the brochure to make it look different and cool. And I guess that's what this car is, although it doesn't miss out on the unusable back seats haha.

I test drove the LC 500 today and I can tell you that for $100k and 4 seats, I was NOT impressed. Why?
1) Poor resale value
2) No sunroof

Then to put it into drive, I can't feel the D, I have to visually see on the dash that I moved it into P and it's a weird movement in which I have to move the lever left then move it down.
4) No Apple Carplay.
5) If you're gonna have 4 seats, my head should not be hitting the back window.
6) Weird that there's 2 color stitching
7) Cupholder with a water bottle blocks a/c controls
8) Radar detector cord must be long and drag all the way back to the cigarette jack in the center console, just in front of the back seats.
9) No flat bottom steering wheel
10) Getting out of the back seat was almost impossible and I'm 47.
