Hello Good video for mounting options I did find all the parts from ur video but i can’t find the remote mount on adapter. All i see is tube mount. Will you please share a links for remote mount only. Thank you much appreciated.
So I’m watching the vid (great vid BTW) and I’m thinking, that guy is so familiar. Have I seen other RUclips videos? No, I think I’ve met this guy, but where? Then it hit me, you taught me CSS1 at Eastern Creek in February and you were AWESOME!!!!! One of the best days of my life. I’m on CSS 2 and 3 at Morgan Park on October so hopefully see you there.
Thats awesome, thanks for the comment. I don't think they actually make that device anymore. Might be able to get a second hand one I guess, but I'd recommend a 360 degree camera now rather than the Osmo. Those things are way more versatile and really stable and you can edit the video like its on a gimbal. I've been using the Fusion but there are better ones now. I made another GoPro mounting video you can watch that shows you what I mean. Check that one out.
@@TheBikeStig Thanks for the tips friend. I allready have the gimbal and a hero 7 black, that's why this device cams my attention... Very interesting...
@@CaptJJRedbeard I've made some changes since this was done. On the 2015/2016 version there is an exhaust mount hole in the right side passenger foot peg bracket. I have a 1" ball ram mount attached with a bolt. Works a treat. I use the ball mount with the hole through it. I am a fan of those ram mounts.
Great vid! This definitely provided me some ideas on how I could approach mounting cameras on my S1000RR, especially since I’m new to the GoPro world! Thanks!
I know I bought it at some camera show but it's not a genuine GoPro product. I just searched on eBay for - dual gopro camera mount bracket - and there are a lot of options available. Hope that helps mate.
Hi mate! Very nice and usefull video for me since I also have an s1000rr. Could you pls let me know which is the support used for the GoPro remote control? Maybe an link to check it. Thanks and regards from Argentina.
the remote comes with a small cradle for mounting it. You simply use one of the camera mounts to attach the cradle to the normal stick on camera mount and that's it. Check this out - www.amazon.com/GoPro-Wi-Fi-Remote-Mounting-Kit/dp/B07BW7LC9C/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_421_t_0?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=D6W98ZV2J6183AK9VX1D
yeah it would, this was recorded before we had access to 360 cameras and smaller stabilisation options, and was a bit of an experiment. I am making a new video which shows what we are doing now with mounting and using 360 degree cameras ... stay tuned mate.
I have been going crazy trying to get GoPro video but the vibration ruins it. I looked on DJI website for Osmo shock absorber mount and talked with DJI and they don't have a shock absorber mount but I see you with one. I am confused. Did you build the shock absorber part? Thanks for the nice video.
I don't have too many issues with GoPro from a vibration perspective provided the mount is super solid .. I really like the RAM mounting system personally. The shock absorber item is an accessory from DJI for their OSMO camera product but I've never used that for anything other than the OSMO.
Great video after all these years! Still so hard to find a video that shows the straight-forwardness of mounting options like this. I am still curious as I'd like to mount the GoPro the way you did on the side mirrors on my Yamaha R3. Where did you get that 'clamp' mount for the side mirror or is there any alternatives?
Could I ask about the mount by the footrest facing the muffler and the rear - Where did you buy it from? - Is it ok to mount on for long trips? - Do the bolts loosen at high speed? I've been looking on the Internet for the ones similar to yours but the vendor doesn't recommend to mount it there for the following reasons I've stated above. Thanks in advance
I never had a problem with it mate, have left it on for long rides. Since I made this video we made a change over to using RAM mounts. There's a shot of this at 8:20 in this video - ruclips.net/video/jHiyRzTGCwg/видео.html - but eventually we came up with a permanent rear mount - watch this video - ruclips.net/video/5t8ZJdvWvvUI/видео.html - I do use thread lock (Loctite) to make sure it doesn't come undone though. Hope those help mate.
I've changed how I do it these days, I've been using the strap and depending on the bike I am riding it can be on the handle bar (GS and Motard), brake master cylinder (RR). The newer models only come with a strap now anyway.
If you mean the cover on top of the rear tail where the seat normally goes, I think it's called a Rear Seat Cowl Cover, it simply replaces the seat. They're a BMW factory option and there's a heap of them on eBay and Amazon.
Hi Stig, I love your video. Question I have is that the Osmo gimble with shock absorber. Can you tell me or show us in closely each part you used? Thank you in advance.
We continued to try with that Osmo and eventually gave up on it, had problems on big turns on the bike. And none of that stuff is made anymore, DJI went away from it and now have the Osmo Pocket - store.dji.com/product/osmo-pocket?vid=48141 . I'll post something on the 360 degree camera because thats actually a much better way to go I think, the cameras are amazing and work so well now and the effect is the same.
I think you might be referring to the metal GoPro base which is screwed to the rear cowl. It's an eBay purchase rather than the stick on version from GoPro.
I ride my bike for LOVE and I would like to ask can and how do you mount the unit on the helmet please. I am a 50 year old biker( I currently only ride roads I know and I would love to mount MY PHONE to use as a sat nav could you suggest a mounting point and device to use) Your reply and help would truly be appreciated, sir :)
Gidday Karl, There's quite a few ways to mount GoPro type cameras on helmets, they even make a specific helmet mount which places it on the side. I personally like to mount it right in front of my mouth which is easy to do with normal GoPro mounts and connections. Re the phone, the best one I've seen is called a Quad Lock (I think that's correct) which a lot of my riding buddies have. Me, I have a GS with a proper navigation device. On my last adventure bike I fitted a Garmin Zumo navigator but it looks like the phones are suitable these days being waterproof. Hope this helps.
Tried mounting the cam on the frame slider but seems to be very shakey from vibrations. I'm using a yi cam 4k, should i turn on EIS? I'm gonna try tank mounted next.
All I could find was the one I use on the mirror - shop.gopro.com/APAC/mounts/handlebar-seatpost-pole-mount/AGTSM-001.html - the one on the peg is no longer available, I did come up with an alternative so I'll see if it works on this type of peg and post a video if it does
Hey, Nice video, what is that handle bar thing on the tank of the bike for? Also I was looking for a similar option with the gimbal from GoPro but the company says it will not be able to function at high vibrations such as racing etc. Are you sure the DJI one is supposed to work at high vibrations?
Thanks mate. That thing is a pillion grip, we explained how we use it here - ruclips.net/video/U5OSIy5CvMM/видео.html . The DJI Osmo works okay fitted with that little shock absorber, but problem is it's way too big so we never use it on track, we've got a couple of WG Mini (wearable) gimbals we've been experimenting with on track, had some issues but I'll post something about these soon. The gimbal thing is a tough one without a big tech budget.
I bought a genuine GoPro tube mount but they don't make them anymore. You can get a - Large Tube Mount (Roll Bars + Pipes + More) - directly from GoPro which might be the go.
Hi, great video! I just bought a camera and have been experimenting with it. Vibration has been the main issue. I take it the ram mounts have been useful for you in that regard?
It has helped, though it still matters where its mounted. A nice solid mounting point is the first priority as vibration will still go through a ram mount especially if the connector is the longer version (there's 2 different lengths).
This is a phenomenal video! It's exactly what I've been looking for. Very well thought out and put together. Thank you so much for the examples!
cheers mate, hope it stimulated some ideas

Doesnt that gimbal setup get in the way of the rider moving around on the bike? Like for example, when tucking in.
