    Great lure for the upcoming spring! from prespawn to spawn, the bass will be destroying them bluegills! Free rig is an amazing way to fish plastics as an alternative to Texas rig or even Carolina rig!

    Love the free rig. You can swim it, hop it through the water column, or near the bottom. Super versatile. Tight lines out there!

    Smelly, but they do catch fish even on high pressured waters.I use cheb-rig 3-5 gr. and try not to lift it more then a few inches of the bottom.

      Bead helps with the knot I heard. But what do u use it for?

    • @TravisDoesKayakFishing

      @@rawrfishing Friction protection against the knot and to prevent the weight from coming over the hook eye or knot and getting hung up there.
      It's more of a best practice. I fish with a guy that is all about catching the little details and calling you out if you miss one. He got me on the bead with the same thing I said to you and my response was the same. I cannot argue with him on the logic of it.

    Why the drop shot weight instead of a bullet weight? I get that it's rigged Texas-style (sorta) because the weight is "slip-rigged" like a bullet weight would be, but I would think a bullet weight wouldn't snag nearly as much. Is the action of the drop shot weight that much different/better? Def gonna try it, lol.

    • @CeeJayWho

      That's a Free Rig

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  11 месяцев назад +2

      This is called free rigging. The weight drops faster than a cone weight allowing the plastic to freely drop after the weight hits the bottom. It also casts further as the weight can swing forward all the way given that it touches the line way less.
      This isn't to replace the t rig for weedy waters. It's for more open water. Give it a shot! You will find it useful as a jika rig too! Try floating lures as well!

  • @nateriley4067
    @nateriley4067 2 месяца назад +1

    Just curious, the way that you rigged that, it appears the Bellows Shad would lie flat (horizontal) in the water, where you'd actually want it to run vertically. You’d want to run the hook thru the smaller top side or bottom side. I know because I made this mistake when I first started using this bait and I couldn’t figure out why my shad looked like it was swimming on its back, not on its belly (with its back pointed upward towards the sky). I was watching a RUclips video when Alton Jones Jr said something that made me visualize the Bellows Shad in my mind and I saw how I was rigging it wrong. Be well.

    I've been waiting for Z-man to make a thinner profile segmented flat sided shad or leech for ages. Still waiting😅 maybe the bellows shad hype will catch on with them too.
    My go to lures for bank fishing for walleyes in urban cities at sunset when I was a kid was a Texas rigged powerbait leech.
    They don't make them anymore nor do they make many thin flat sided leech like lures on the market.
    I love how flat sided lures slowly glides through the water column and flip to their side when twitched/jerked. Kind of mesmerizing.

    That bait is just like Carl’s 10,000 fish yotto worm, and an actually works good in the morning time for some reasons, but I wouldn’t say it’s a fishing plastic to go to, it’s more of a pond plastic, or private fishery nice presentation. If it was a loose knot away from the hook, that would let it play in the water while dangles a little more than phone straight down all the time believe it or not when that weight falls back sometimes it transfers quicker than you believe we will understand or see, nothing works the same 6 feet under 10 feet under as it does 3 feet in front of you and water columns and leak ain’t the same like they’re inside of a pool and hungry fish on TV. I hit anything just like stocked bass in stock trout.

      @kennyg3192 9 месяцев назад

      @@davidrussell9290 I would say thinner, but not way thinner and when you’re putting it on as a trailer, you’re getting the same affect depending on where you fish the Yoda worm and that ain’t worth a shit!!!! I got plastics. I’ve made out of old plastics that caught more fish than half these RUclipsrs wanting people to like things because they’re catching fish on a stocked pond!!! that’s why I don’t like fishing golf courses because I can snatch 5 pound bass out of there like it’s nothing and I got to do is go to my Fishbrain and you can see but either way tight lines brother and be safe and God bless
