- In this video, I go bass fishing with the Geecrack Bellows Gill! This lure gained popularity in Japan and has recently been gaining popularity among anglers in the United States. This soft plastic creature bait imitates a bluegill, which is one of the favorite meals of a big bass. I have been wanting to throw this crazy Japanese lure for a while now, so I am excited to see how good it really is! Been feeling that dip in the energy myself the hot weather makes me wanna stay inside especially after working full time and being a dad. But I forced myself out of bed this morning and got a decent bucket mouth today. Tight lines from TX.

Bellow gill is my summertime go to bait. If you use a twistlock hook you will get many more fish with one bait. My go to colors are flash gill and green pumpkin chartreuse. I do go through about 2 packs a day

Works good as blade jig trailer when throwing thru brush and logs, pulls thru cover well, also works pre spawn on under spin swim setup, good video!
Thanks! The look good on chatterbaits, but they are too expensive for me to use them as a trailer

I’ve been using the bellows gill for a while now because my buddy swears by them. What I’ve learned: they can be extremely productive in pressured water, most ponds haven’t ever seen this before.
They are extremely fragile and easy to break, but this also leads to having fantastic action and water displacement because of the material and design. The best way I’ve found to combat this, is by using screw lock EWG hooks with a dab of mend-it super glue on the screw lock. I’m able to get a few fish out of each bait.
They are really expensive so I’m not throwing these most of the time, but I’ll use them if other plastics aren’t getting bit.
They make really unique lures besides the gill, but I haven’t used them yet. I just got the imo kemushi 95’s and I’m gonna try them out soon. The cue bomb is supposed to be killer but every color and size is sold out.
In my opinion they’re fantastic baits but it’s not something you can use a lot unless you’re willing to pay the price and wait for restocks of your favorite colors.
I’ve got the imo kemushi for my next video, and some cue bombs on back order! They are all really fun lures to use!
they just came out with a new elaztec type of bellows gill i think it’s in the bellows shad and they should last a lot more man ! heard someone caught like 30 on one 🤘🏽
use a o-ring in the top portion of the bait before you rig it, helps with reinforcment

Brother time to switch to boonie hat and ice in cap to stay cool... maybe a video...tips n tricks to stay cool fishing banks in Texas...ie wetting hat and freezing night before... then ice in crown as hat dries, ice pack neck bandana, frozen bandana... etc

Try using twist lock owner beast hooks 8/0 or 6/0 for the 5.8 bellows gill

It's an amazing bait but yea, you're gonna want a screwlock or something like that to lengthen the lifespan. Thing about the bellows gill - you'll probably catch a fish on every single one you rig up, but you may not get more than one per bait.
I think it is still a good lure to have on hand. Just incase the fishing is really tough!
