Seixal is the village my father was born in. I used to spend summer holidays there with my grandmother when I was a teenager. Wonderful place! My grandmother used to hitchhike from Seixal to Porto Moniz to fetch her pension once a month. She was very fit.
Madeira is so stunning. It's Europe's answer to Hawaii...minus the sand beaches. But you've yet to know the Porto Santo island with a beautiful 9km beach. 😀

As portuguese from Porto,with an age of 33, i have visited madeira for the first time last month. I have been in around 40 countries, and when i left madeira, it was the first time i felt sad for leaving. Ive stayed a week near salesianos school/church, view Over Funchal bay but ive traveled all around the island. Porto de Moniz is perfect. I advise everyone to visit and i can Tell you i want also to move to Madeira Island. If i can get a job and can go with my 2 dogs, thats it for me.
Seixal has the best beach in madeira and also have a natural swimming pool sad that you did not go there. I hope that you have gone to Porto da cruz is the most beautiful place in Madeira. Love your videos!

Your vlogs are amazing. Madeira has so much beauty. Porto Moniz is gorgeous. Sorry you didn’t get to swim there. Another thing that I love about Madeira is that even though there are tourists, it’s still a very quiet place. We live in Funchal, and the streets are never crowded. I’m glad Americans haven’t discovered us yet!😂😂

If you are still in Madeira and want to try a very good traditional food, I recommend you go to a restaurant called "La Parreira" in Campanario, it is a different concept but it is an experience that you will enjoy!

You inspired us. My wife and I just booked a vacation in Funchal for this August. Thanks for the rental car recommendation. We hope to do some of the same drives that you did and to enjoy the same food and drink. Your hotel choices were a bit out of our price rage however. Hope to see you there in late August.

I found a small rock pool in Porto Dinheiro (just south of Lourinha - which I love). I was there in the winter, so no idea if the water is quite the same blue that you experienced. Before you shared the info about that road (10:40) I was wondering if that was some kind of old road. Wholly Crap... No Freaking Way! I'm with you Joen, thank goodness you don't have to worry about THAT.

We had a week there in the Spring of 2015 arriving after the Flower Festival and before the summer crowds. Perfection.
Hire City Bubbles electric Renault Twizzy for a day trip to Nun's valley, up and through the mountainside.
Walk the lavadas, bath in volcanic pools, descend or hang over cliff tops, like you explore bits of the old coast road, the Picos of the interior and you can still see the sea.
