Hi! The national holiday is on june 10th.
Well, my comment got some hate so I've just deleted it. (They didn't like me referencing that I don't have any exotic blood... and I'm just very white... it's a joke - but I forget this is in international crowd) so, I'll just say ' Love you both'.
@@JenShea Why wouldn't the crowd be international? Where are you from?
I would also fail this questions tbh.
Portuguese are mixed person like spanish we know, the iberics have many dnas, like italian, arab, sefardite, french, marroquine, maltese, norse, german, danish, english, japanese, chinese, brazilian, bantu, slavic etc. Today Portugal is multicultural and multietnic nation . Fact.
Amalie & Joen, you are our portuguese vikings ❤🇵🇹.
@@stayclassyvlog The vikings were in Portugal, by the way. You might be more related to someone from Póvoa de Varzim than a lot of Portuguese people. Hahaha
As a remnant of the line of Princess Isabel of Portugal, Lady of Viseu, I bestow honorary Portuguese ethnicity onto you both. We are glad to have you here. Saúde!

I am Filipino born in Macau, which was a small land of China controlled by the Portugues for 500 years. I have to say you two are the best people to introduce Portugal to non Portuguese😊😊 Perhaps I love how you show the real Portugal to the audience in the fun way😁 unlike some Chinese descents from Macau or mainland China who think themselves self righteous.👍👍

Oh you speak Danish! I speak Norwegian, and understood you Joen and the little bit you spoke, Amalie. Love to hear it.
This was before I heard you were both Danish.
I did mine three years ago and I figured out I was 65% Portuguese, even though I have no traceable Portuguese ancestry (my family is totally Brazilian from both sides and is in the country since the 16th century). Anyway, it's important to add that around 90% of Brazilians have Portuguese ancestry in different degrees: from 1% to 100%. 👍

No matter what any DNA test says… you two are truly a Portugal and Portuguy at heart ❤️
Awww, thanks so much!
Portugay?
Their soul is POrtuguese.
Funchal means «field of fennel»; «cozido à portuguesa» was unknown in Portugal till recently and is not part of traditional cuisine; half of the Portuguese are descendant from Sephardim Jews, who do not have funny noses like the Ashkenazim do; peoples who left descendants in Portugal: Iberians, Celts, Phoenician, Greeks, Romans, Jews, Vandals, Alans, Suebi, Visigoths, Vikings, Arabs, Amazigh, and almost every possible people because we Portuguese men worship exotic beauties.
It's Sunday morning and nothing to do.
I randomly search RUclips and find this video.

My mother is Cuban and my Father is Portuguese
You got your nose from Greek dna just like Amalie. 😅
2 % Nigerian is actually a lot... These tests only go back 5 generations not forever so if it pops up as 2 percent Nigerian that is a lot probably a great great grandfather from Nigeria and everybody he is related to is also related to you so that 1 great great grandfather has 1000 +relatives related to you think about it like that not the percentage
Guys in my book you are Portuguese, and thank you for loving the country where I'm from
59% 🇵🇹 haha! That would be the vinho tinto running through your veins Joen. Great video, I am tempted to do a DNA test myself now!
I have been sober for 9 months now, but I still have some residual Portuguese wine in my veins! :D
Amalie is more north african than myself you don't have portuguese ( or iberian genes,) but we are related by the berber ones ....😄
Probably, yes! :)
I took one of those as well: 83% Iberian (whatever that means, because Iberia is a pretty mixed bunch), 6% North African (another mixed bunch…), 5% Northern and Western European (ditto…), 4% Balkan and 2% Nigerian. No Jewish genes, although I’ve got documented Sephardic ancestry on both sides of my family (and the nose to prove it too!). What’s funny is that I was really blond until 6 or 7, and then I became one of those blue eyed, very pale, dark blond, reddish beard Portuguese types. The Jewish and Black ancestry make sense when you think of it, from a historical perspective.
I think 83% Iberian is like when I am 75% Scandinavian. It's not a lot of centuries ago that it was all just one big land of breeding! :D
I think 83% Iberian is like when I am 75% Scandinavian. It's not a lot of centuries ago that it was all just one big land of breeding! :D
@@stayclassyvlog , exactly!
@@paulogarciadesousa explication for your question: there’re two main group of Jewish in europe, one from Eastern Europe (the Ashkenazi Jewish) and another one from Northern Africa (Sefardita Jewish). Most of Iberian Jewish are from North Africa and not from Eastern Europe, so even if it’s not depicted as “Jewish” you can see your Jewish blood from that part of Northern Africa.
The DNA test is fun, you can use on more websites to see more stuff like allergies and expand contacts, btw mine is like the Roman empire plus Nigeria and less than 1% Andean

DNA tests are interesting. I have Danish ancestry on both sides of my family. We also have documents and diary entries from my family's time there but when I did the ancestry test it said I was more Norwegian. Not sure what sense that makes.
Very cool! I think Danish/Norwegian/Swedish is all the same as it used to be one big country pretty much. So it makes sense to just describe it as Scandinavian. That's also why I wasn't even "Danish".
